I installed the latest version but don't like the small thumbnail and link so any one knows how can i go to old version?

In old version users stay on your site but in this one some user clicks on link then thumbnail and left the site.

I edited the template but the original player image is too big. I tried to shrink it but the template won't read the width code. I even made a smaller one and it stretches it to the original 130px width. A 40 x 31 would be perfect.

Any ideas?

Cause I'm a bone head and forgot to add real media back in :(

when i press the preview post button... the media tags overtake it...it will become...

[media]http://www.vbulletin.org[/media]

and also if i post image now, it all becomes thumbnail size...or sometimes...they are inside the media player...:p
i guess i don't like this idea or the styles, or is there any possible solution for all of this not to happen...sorry for that bro...just my 2 cents...

so at the moment i just put back or install the old version..

:(

Do you have another hack installed? Anymedia won't do that.

Hi Nix, thanks for your reply.

I have included a screenshot of what happens when I post that supplied link.

It just doesn't like it.

Yea I'll look into it. Thanks for the pic. What version of vb do you have?

If they have js disabled it will do that. I'll have a backup for users with js disabled in a new version.

You can change it in the anymedia.css.

Nix

First of all I have to congratulate you and thank you for keeping up with your code and answering pretty much every post with real patience. It is very commendable and rare.

I have downloaded and installed the mod, and have read every post but still cannot get it to work properly. Can you help please?

First, when I provide a link I get double tags.
Example;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PwkgjGjaHc

I have to edit my post and remove the excess tags, and after that, I get unsupported media.

I have set all file types as No in vBOptions and still the same problem.

I assume I am doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what.

Suggestions?

nix 09-09-2007 09:22 PM

You can pm me details to your forum and I'll take a look.

nix 09-10-2007 01:07 AM

I just tried it on your forum and it seems to be working fine. All I did was post a youtube link and hit reply. I didn't sue the M button. Thats only needed if you want to use custom options.

I just did the same thing, post a youtube link and hit reply. It didn't work.

nix 09-10-2007 01:40 AM

are you using the quick reply?

Nope, just regular Post Reply.

every thing seems to be working.

I really don't understand.

Can you tell me exactly how you make it work, because on my end it just doesn't.

I cut and paste a link and just hit Post Reply...doesn't work.

I cut and paste a link and wrap it with the Blue "M" and I get an error.

nix 09-10-2007 01:54 AM

try a link that you haven't used yet.

Dreykan 09-10-2007 01:57 AM

All I get is a link.

nix 09-10-2007 02:01 AM

its something to do with your post. You're adding color and size to the url. So it wont convert.

That makes sense, since it works for you and not me. Any idea how to fix that because I am not adding anything, manually anyway.

nix 09-10-2007 02:05 AM

its either a setting you have or a hack. I've tried both the standard editor and the wsyg one and they both work. Switch to the standard one and see if any extra text is being added.

I changed from Enhanced WYSIWYG to Standard and it now works.

Isn't that a bit odd? Could it be a conflict?

nix 09-10-2007 02:09 AM

no. it works in both. There has to be something you have installed or set that is messing with your post. I tried both on your forum and it works fine.

I don't know what to say then. It must be a personal setting if it works for you and not me. I don't get it.

nix 09-10-2007 02:14 AM

I agree it's weird. I've looked through forum and I don't see anything. But it does work with both editors. What browser you using?

Internet Explorer 6 with SP2.

I just upgraded to vBulletin 3.6.8, would that make a difference?

I also asked other members to make a post, see if it entirely my problem.

nix 09-10-2007 02:19 AM

It could. Did you fix all the templates?

Yes, I did. I upgraded to 3.6.8 and then edited the templates in your instructions.

Should I double check? It's possible I missed something.

Well I check and it all appears to be correct.

Krumbz 09-10-2007 02:48 PM

El Burro 09-10-2007 03:35 PM

Hi Nix,

I'm getting a database error when I preview a post.

Invalid SQL:
UPDATE post SET anymedia_yes=1 WHERE postid=;

I saw the same error in a previous post so I followed your advice given then and uninstalled then reinstalled

I'm still getting the errors :(

Hmm. Yeah, I'm kinda torn on it too. There was something to be said about the simplicity of the simple embedded video window in AnyMedia 3.0.x.

But I like the bug fixes and new compatibility (like QT and movie trailers) in 3.1b.

I can see how folks would like the new way, but also some other folks preferring the original.

It might be nice to make this display (window vs. highslidable thumbnail) a configurable option (either via global admin setting, or per user in the UserCP.)

strotter 09-10-2007 05:59 PM

I installed everything and I am getting the dreaded "Error: unsupported media type." error. Please Help!

Here is a link to my config: http://www.gofastnews.com/lt/media.pdf

Here is the link I am trying:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=2

Here is the link to my thread:

Thank you in advance.

I'm going to add an option. Would you rather it be a user or admin option?

I just tried that link on my test site and it worked fine.

Just to clear somethings up.

1. The template edits are only needed if you want to user attachments or options.

2. The database errors, quick reply and preview are fixed in the next version.

3. I'll make an option on how the media displays. Do you guys want it to be a user or admin setting?

4. Thanks for helping get rid of all the bugs!

Ideally I think I'd like it to be a UserCP setting... with an Admin setting for what the "default" should be. Seems that would please everybody. :)

Any chance of PM'ing me the changes I need to make.

I don't like my users getting db errors.

Do you have an idea of when you are releasing the update?

Thanks for this Nix

cyclone-uk 09-10-2007 09:33 PM

Installed and double checked and i'm getting this: Error: unsupported media type

What i'm using:
[media]http://www.xbox-corner.com/video/nhl081.flv[/media]

If i remembered correctly, just edit the inclides/class_anymedia.php
and search for :

PHP Code:

$vbulletin->db->query_write("UPDATE " TABLE_PREFIX "post SET anymedia_yes=1 WHERE postid=$post[postid]");

replace it with :

PHP Code:

$vbulletin->db->query_write("UPDATE " TABLE_PREFIX "post SET anymedia_yes=1 WHERE postid='" $post[postid] ."'");

AnyMedia 3.1 Beta zip file is corrupted

I just tried to download the zip file for the AnyMedia Player 3.12 Beta and WinRAR says the file is corrupted ("unexpected end of archive"). Please check and fix. Thanks :)

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.6.8:

Invalid SQL:
UPDATE post SET anymedia_yes=1 WHERE postid=;

MySQL Error  : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

I'm getting this error when previewing a post with media.

The field is correctly set in the database. Could it be a syntax error?
