Have you considered something where if the user pays for the subscription they in turn are given an italic username? Or is that not something this plugin can do?

One question to ask you is (maybe someone has ask before), if I don't use any of the $advertisement_code, and put adsense directly into the forum itself using the ad code with "#shared#", it won't work ya?

What's the work ard for it? Reason I'm doing this is I want to add an ad code (text link adsense) in my edit, reply, quote table.. but I can't do that.. tried "cheating" by dumping the ad code in the $footer_advertisement and insert the $footer_advertisement into the table but it won't work...

any idea how I can do that?

this plugin is purely for ad management only (I believe!). I guess the things you are looking for will not be available in the plugin.. so you have to search around vb.org to get it. I'm sure somewhere.. someone has designed it already. =)

The purple border I can live with and putting border ="0" won't get rid of it because it's a border around the cell and not the image. What is so annoying to me is the sliver of cream colored background under the ad. I got rid of the large matting around the ad but I can't figure out how to get rid of that last little bit. It's almost as if there is a &nbsp in the code somewhere but I can't find one....anyone? If someone wants a black ad it will look really strange.

Again, this is done with the default vBulletin features. When you're setting up the premium usergroup, there's an option for "Username Markup" (near the top). In the first box put <em> and in the second box put </em>. Voila, italic usernames for premium members.


That's correct, it is not possible to do ad-sharing without using the plugin. The ordinary advertisement organisation is possible without, for the most part. It just makes it easier this way.

I'm afraid I don't see a left column...or any advertisements at all! I need a screenshot or to see for myself to really understand.


If there's other bugs, as apparently there are, they'll all be fixed together in the next update. So for now, I'm afraid not. But it's very easy to just paste it in the bottom of the footer template instead.

That system come standard with VBulletin. If you want to combine it with vB ad management just set it to go to http://www.fishyforum.com/payments.php when clicked

I tuned off my ad for now as I was just testing it for future use. The background around the left column ad was from the cell it was in. I had to make the color of the first alternating color the same as the background color to get rid of it. But I appreciate you checking my site for me!

I'm afraid you don't have it set to display to Guests, that's the Usergroup option in Global Settings. The default is 6, which is admin usergroup only.

Putting images next to each is easy, the code would look something like this:

<img src="img1" /> <img src="img2" /> <img src="img3" /> <img src="img4" />

If all you want to do is add 4 images to the index page you can do without the plugin entirely and just paste the images code directly into the FORUMHOME template.

well this is a cool ad management - probably one of the best ... but i don't like - at least maybe i'm just blind - the fact that you can't upload banners - set a location you want it to go - and set the date the banner terminates/sends a reminder to you and/or the original advertiser that it is about to expire - not all of us use ad sense :)

You can do it manually, very easy. Just ftp the banner and set then link.

setting the date will be nice though, also the hits record :)

To display it below the links bar, just remove $header_advertisement from the header template and post it at the bottom of the navbar template. That would seem the easiest solution.

I'm wondering can this plugin display a pool of ad randomly on the right column as well?

Meaning I got 5 sponsors, and I put it in my right column. I want them to display randomly in the 5 positions (but never appear more than once)

Sorry, that option is no longer available.

Every location has a choice of random or static advertisements. I can't guarantee that you won't see the same advertisement twice in a row but they will all get exactly equal time in the spot.

Just wondering, if there would be any mod to see which member has clicked and how many times they clicked on an ad? I would love is this was available, this way once they click x amount of ads, I can set them up to not view ads for a month, and this would get them motivated to help, and yea... you understand.

When we go to update this, by importing the XML will it blank out the current settings?

Getting this after I installed the new version 3.12.... (This was not a prob in last version I had, which was 3.04 I believe)

With "Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template" marked as YES in STYLE AND LANGUAGE SETTINGS

and

"Display Advertisements as User?" marked as YES in VB AD MANAGEMENT

The Ads show up as the new horizontal layout format... (This throws off the look of the thread and does not appear to be a user)

Any fix please?

I found the problem: If you update from 3.04 you will need to copy the content from the include folder to your include folder of your server installation... everything works now. thanx for the great plugin!

You should still upgrade, there are other improvements. Ad-sharing is disabled by default.

Alter the postbit(_legacy)_advertisement template like so. Surround the contents with a conditional:
