BINGO!!! Found the problem bug. When I did the uninstalled the first time for some reason the bit of code in the MEMBERINFO Customfields templates was left that caused the error. Thank you very much for taking the time to help me out though. Now that I feel like to total moron, lol.

qtouch 01-07-2008 04:06 AM

installed the and uploaded the image folder to images/moods, but still can't see the mood images.

Bro_Joey_Gowdy 01-07-2008 08:28 AM

Any updated version for 3.7.0 ??

No. Re-read what I wrote.

PMs are NOT turned off globally on my forum. They are ON. And as I said, the mod works for most people.

This was one member, a single member, who disabled PMs for himself only but wanted Moods. What I discovered was that Moods is disabled for any member who uses the option to disable PMs. When the member re-enables PMs, Moods reappears.

That walks, talks, and sounds like a bug to me. :)

Oy! Some people just can't be helped no matter how much you try.

Did you even bother to read what I wrote as to why it does not work if PMs are disabled? It doesn't matter if they are disabled site-wide or for an individual user, if the phrase that is being searched for is not in the template then the automatic template edit in the plug-in can not be done. It's that simple.

If you think it's a "bug" then just edit the plugin to use some other piece of text that you know will always be in your navbar template or disable the plugin and do the template change manually like I said in the first place.

gizabo 01-08-2008 10:43 AM

wait so dose it work on 3.7 or not?

-=Sniper=- 01-11-2008 10:35 PM

3.7 is in the works, might release it before next vbulletin RC, will see how much time I get to spend on it. Please forward any suggestions now.

djbaxter 01-12-2008 01:06 AM

Yes. Remove the [sniper] at the beginning of the title in the vBulletin Options list. Everytime I go to look for it, I'm looking down where all the rest of the non-standard vBulletin add-on options are under Mood Manager.

A minor thing perhaps but irritating.

Forum Lover 01-12-2008 03:12 AM

putting user group permission will be nice with it.

I did what it said to do but my images are broken. I even uploaded the images to my server with its own "Moods" folder.
Also why does it display two mood icon in the user's postbit?

www.speedjunkyz.info/forums here go look

Supramania 01-15-2008 06:33 PM

I cannot figure out where this thing has edited my legacy_postbit.

It shows up right after the posts (as expected), but there's NOTHING in the template to show that.

I've searched my templates for "mood" and every variation you can think of.

This is driving me insane. I want to remove the "default" one so I can put my own, custom formatted stuff in the legacy_postbit.

Can anyone tell me where the auto installer put this code? This is driving me NUTS.

-=Sniper=- 01-15-2008 06:53 PM

check in the admincp, theres an option to disable the edit.

-=Sniper=- 01-15-2008 07:13 PM

little preview of 3.7 version, I've made the image version, it works fine in IE6/7 FF but not tested in other browsers. Selected mood is slightly faded etc :)

-=Sniper=- 01-15-2008 08:43 PM

check admincp and disable auto edit, you probably haven't uploaded the images correctly I can't even access it via url http://www.speedjunkyz.info/forums/i...mood/Bored.gif

-=Sniper=- 01-15-2008 08:45 PM

lol, I see you have named your folder "Moods" change it to "moods"

towermatt 01-15-2008 08:59 PM

Amazing mod Sniper, my members love it.

Traxdata 01-15-2008 10:52 PM

Thank you very much for this preview and your support! :)

SpeedJunkyz 01-16-2008 01:15 AM

On a Unix/Linux server, definitely. Unix sees Moods and moods as two different directories (or files as the case may be).

On a Windows server, they'd be seen as the same directory.

SpeedJunkyz 01-16-2008 05:18 AM

didnt work still messed up....hmm what now, its ugly i need it fixed

djbaxter 01-16-2008 09:55 AM

Then you may have some other problems but if you're on a 'Nix server that needed to be fixed anyway.

-=Sniper=- 01-16-2008 06:38 PM

you renamed the folder to "moods" it should be "mood", also disable the auto edit in the admincp to avoid having two instances of moods appearing in the posbit.

my fault in the previous post, I've name it moods in the next version...

name the folder "mood"

SpeedJunkyz 01-16-2008 07:49 PM

ok I will do this thanks....

SpeedJunkyz 01-16-2008 07:55 PM

Thanks that fixed it

grunt482 01-17-2008 08:49 PM

I installed this hack but my mood will not change. It just stays updating and never changes.

Catziggy 01-19-2008 11:16 PM

I installed and am having fun with moods on my vbadvanced cpms forum but my new forum with vbadvanced dynamics doesnt have a Portal Output Global Variables box or one that i can find.

How would i fix this for dynamics homepage.

glutenfree 01-22-2008 12:38 AM

Is there a simple way to add something to the code, or change the code to make the drop down have more space for larger animated gifs?

I have some larger images than the standard ones and they all overlap. Just need to add a line of code to make the drop down have more spacing..... Anyone able to help me out?

Already tried playing with quick_mood_change_by_sniper template but couldn't get anything to work, although not a programmer or anything myself...
Seems like it should be easy to fix but I can't find anything in the template relating to size.

Thank you:o

Squall8uk 01-22-2008 01:04 AM

Mod installed and working fine! Thanks for this!

I saw that actually but it seemed like a lot to change just the size of the drop down. You are changing quite a bit more, unless I am wrong?
I am not too comfortable changing the whole mod/hack as I have it working just perfect already, the only problem is the drop down spacing:(

Or is all of that the only way to change the drop down size?

That's exactly what I was seeking, just a way to change the size... Anyway, I'm pretty darned sure, that's the only way to change the spacing.

The good thing is it's really just editing a template and replacing it's contents and editing a plugin and replacing it's contents. What I do when doing something like this is cut the entire contents of the plugin / template and paste it into a text editor like notepad, then copy and paste the new code in. Then if there are any problems, I can copy/paste the old code right back in.

If you're interested, I can do this for you, PM me if interested.
