I didnt update much with the data population system yet.

Neal-UK 05-16-2007 07:44 PM

I installed this when you first released it and it was good, but my members were not too keen so I removed it. Did you make an unistaller at all that removes all the DB tables and things it creates?

eXtremeTim 05-16-2007 07:46 PM

Not yet thats on the table to do in the next 2-3 days hopefully.

Cybertims 05-16-2007 08:03 PM

I was not able to connect to my database. Please try again later.

That's what I still get....

tarot 05-16-2007 08:25 PM

I did the install and got this...
Quote:

XML error: EntityRef: expecting ';' at line 98

Well...I followed the instructions. Any pointers that may indicate what is wrong?

Did you upload the alice directory into your forums directory?

2.5.0 Released.

This should hopefully fix alot if not all of the php5 issues. If you are running php 5 and you have a problem with the bot please pm me the details and a login and I will make notes of things to fix.

will this fix the problem with the bot posting his response before yours inside a thread?

right now for me if i make the first post in a new thread the bot's response shows up as post 1 and mine as post 2.

does 2.5.0 fix that? or is there something i need to adjust in the settings?

thanks

CoolSwede 05-17-2007 07:46 AM

hi,

Yup, all seems to be there fine.......I have installed the aiml files into the database as well.

I have added him to a testing forum section but he only ever says "I was not able to connect to my database. Please try again later." to every single statement. What exactly makes him say that? I can see that it is in the ewt_talkerbot file, but this comment is said when he cant access the database or what?

Cheers for the help.

madsun 05-17-2007 09:36 AM

I am getting the same exact message from the bot...

"I was not able to connect to my database. Please try again later."

all the bot will say to me... any ideas on how to fix this or where to look for this...

Would really like to get this running right =]

thanks.

I also had this problem and the same error when I installed it tonight , the problem was simply I installed it in to the wrong directory. My forum is www.austech.info , not www.austech.info/forums.
I installed it in to a old folder called forum which I used to run before I got a dedicated server , so I would say you havent installed it to your actual root directory. Re-check where you have actually installed it.

eXtremeTim 05-17-2007 04:58 PM

Yea the alice folder must be uploaded into your forums directory what ever you may have named it. :)

can you help me pls?

eXtremeTim 05-17-2007 05:52 PM

Your server configuration doesnt allow the 2.5 version of the bot to run on it.

board.trash 05-17-2007 05:57 PM

thx 4 answer tim, wich server configuration i need to run it correctly?

Cybertims 05-17-2007 07:15 PM

When I go to http://pathtoyourforums.com/alice/sr...t=How+are+you?

changing the path to mine...I get nothing but a blank screen.

Robp57 05-17-2007 10:43 PM

eXtremeTim 05-18-2007 02:21 AM

andrew67 05-18-2007 02:27 AM

For security purposes , what file/s should be deleted after installation ?

Robert7 05-18-2007 02:49 AM

Hi, thx for new version,
I have problem when i try alice/src/admin/botloader.php the server encountered an internal error:
Internal Server Error
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I try to change dbprefs.php and set root url manually but it doesn't work. I haven't this problem in previous version. PHP version is 5.2.1 . Can you help me?

eXtremeTim 05-18-2007 04:42 AM

So what happened and how do I fix it??????

niteslave 05-18-2007 11:49 PM

I contiually get CGI timeout errors when running botloader. Is there a way I can pick it up from where it timed out?

TTG 05-18-2007 11:51 PM

Any chance of releasing the bot learner info.
Mine works well, but I'd love to train him with some personal stuff.

CHIPIT195 05-19-2007 02:54 AM

I'm getting the "Cannot Connect to Database" message as well...

However, when I go to http://www.my.site.com/forums/alice/src/talk.html
and type something in, it gives me a proper response..

masons 05-19-2007 11:03 AM

I got it working very nicely on www.masonictalk.com (http://www.novusordosaeculorum.com/w...son-t1727.html)

But

1) it still posts before my post
2) How can we teach it?

eXtremeTim 05-19-2007 06:31 PM

I am currently looking into a new learning system that is easier for people to setup.

gforce75 05-20-2007 07:39 AM

Tim,

It's working great, but I had to disable it. It gave me a no database connect error and also gave me a time out soon as i hit the post button. I then checked back, it made a post, but said could not connect to data base. I disabled it for now and yes, everything is 777. What is causing this? It seems like it can't hook to my database.

Eric

chatzworld 05-20-2007 04:57 PM

i cnt get this to work., have most files 777 but still wont work get internal error and when i do it on forum ig et saying could not connect to databse so decided to uninstall till i can get help

gforce75 05-20-2007 05:15 PM

This is really a great program I think. It seems that a few people have complained about this particular error and yes, everything is 777. I saw the guy above my other posting has his working fine.

masons 05-21-2007 08:21 AM

Hi,

My members are going wild with the bot..

1) How do we teach it about a specific topic?
2) Will the newer version undo all the chats we had with the system?

Cybertims 05-21-2007 12:36 PM

got it working on a different server but it is still posting before our posts......any fix for that here?

Cheers
