Anyone interested in taking over the mod / updating it would need permission from the developer/author.

What if this person is unreachable? What does vBulletin.org consider an acceptable time limit?

xTu 06-14-2012 12:43 PM

Good news guys!

Let me know, thanks

Yes please do. I'm afraid I can't offer any assistance with anything but I give you full permission to take over the mod and do with it what you like.

I will convert this ASAP!

Mods: How do I get access to modify and update the original post?

SamirDarji 06-16-2012 04:38 AM

Awesome! This mod is essential for anyone that uses the calendar extensively. :)

Use template variable for Event Details

When this is set to Yes you will need to use the variable

$lv_vb_eventforums_eventdetails

to display the Event Details block in the SHOWTHREAD template.

When this is set to No the Event Details block is inserted at the end of $navbits variable.

If you are running the default style, you can most likely leave this off. If you have heavily customised the SHOWTHREAD template, and/or the Event Details arn't showing properly, you will need to use this.

Where exactly do I put $lv_vb_eventforums_eventdetails ??

Thanks

SamirDarji 06-23-2012 12:07 AM

I'm guessing wherever you want the Event Details block to show up. I'd just put it somewhere and then play around with the layout.

subscribing to this thread to keep an eye out for the vb4 port

Zweeper 07-26-2012 05:10 PM

would be great, loved that mod in the past!

Glockie 08-03-2012 12:32 PM

Yep!

Subscribed with a patient wait for the VB4 ** mod port.

Good on yer!

Toorak Times 08-06-2012 02:12 PM

I'd also happily pay

mmacrypt 09-03-2012 10:33 PM

would love to see this. There was a good one for PHPBB but surprised there isn't one for vbul4 yet.

skywalkar 09-05-2012 01:32 PM

Plus one subscriber hoping for a vB4 port; good luck, xTu!

I was about to start trying to reverse-engineer a hack together myself, but if you can work out a legitimate port and release it, that would be so much more maintainable in the long run.

My Hattiesburg 09-25-2012 06:17 PM

I too would really like to see this mod updated for 4.x.

Any more information on this?

My Hattiesburg 10-31-2012 10:53 PM

I'd really, really, like to see this ported for 4.2, but it seems that the last time xTu was online was July 19. Doesn't sound too promising.

xTu 12-06-2012 12:04 PM

Correct, life has taken over :)

I have not had any time to work on this, so if someone wants to take it over, PM me.

Toorak Times 12-06-2012 01:10 PM

This is an important bit of work. I hope Farcaster or one of the other Calendar mod peeps take this onboard. In 1979 I created the first dedicated Gig Guide, TAGG The Alternative Gig Guide in Melbourne , I believe work such as this will enhance the potential for new artists to get there stuff out there. I'm not a coder unfortunately, though I'd like to see a storm of Calendar enhancements. I mean, there isn't even a Facebook share button for Calendars...I mean, really...

My Hattiesburg 12-07-2012 11:13 PM

How much cash would I need to chip in for someone to port this to 4.2? Maybe I could dance at your wedding (although I'm a terrible dancer)?

noppid 12-08-2012 12:27 PM

We really liked this and want to upgrade it for vB 4. We lost this functionality when we upgraded this week to vB4. So, if anything comes of it, we'll find out if it's cool to share it and go from there. No promises. Time is scarce.

Did you guys get a chance to look at this yet? Cheers...

BarracodE 04-29-2013 05:14 PM

I wouldn't call it an upgrade, but I got this working on 4.2.1. I had to tweak a few things but most of the functionality is in tact. Thank you so much for the code. I'll be glad to share what I have with anyone.

Thanks,

Chuck

I would apreciate it I would like to use this mod and just can't wait or trust that vb is going to do anything better in 4 or 5

BarracodE 05-03-2013 12:47 PM

Attached is a working mod for 4.2.1. It's been on our production site for 2 weeks now and was exactly what we needed. Thank you so much for the base code.

Toorak Times 05-03-2013 12:56 PM

BarracodE, you still online? My site is 4.2.1 and have been busting for this. can I see a link to your site please?

BarracodE 05-03-2013 01:03 PM

Toorak Times 05-03-2013 02:01 PM

Toorak Times 05-03-2013 02:09 PM

Nice looking forums mate, which one of the forums has the mod on it please. I have a number of Gig Guides that will help me with amazingly

BarracodE 05-03-2013 02:42 PM

Thank you. The race and practice threads are event enabled. I just sent you a pm.

Toorak Times 05-03-2013 03:08 PM

rcull 06-03-2013 03:38 PM

Just installed BarracodE's xml from post 825 on page 55 on VB 4.2.0 and it seems to be working!...:)

Thanks mate, I'll give it a run on 4.2.1 and report back

Toorak Times 06-18-2013 09:19 AM

You may not have the Calendar/Forum Map set up correctly.
My default calendar is "calendarid=1" and the Events forum id is "id: 8"...so I simply entered 1:8 in the first box of the Event Forums control panel.
;)

My Hattiesburg 08-04-2013 04:42 AM

After reading through some of the older posts, I've discovered that moderating new threads doesn't work which means that I can't allow unregistered people to create a new event. Does anyone have any suggestions on a work-around for this?

Can confirm working well on 4.2.1 :D

Thanks for the update!
