This is a different subject - seeing guests in chat when they don't have permission is probably a settings issue, not an intrusion. I have no idea what you mean "they got smilies".

I can think of lots worse things to be afraid of than hackers. Like driving. Or walking on a public street. But assuming you're doing your due diligence as an admin and have automated current backups the worst that can happen from hackers is some downtime.

I have been running this mod for years now.
Must admit my forum would be lost without it.
I am quite concerned about this as i imagine others are.
It appears there is only one confirmed hacked forum thus far.
Oh how i hope this is an isolated incident :(

I just installed this, and I cant figure out how to get rid of the "new" message that appears beside the messages. When do they stop being new? Can I mark them as read?

Q: My chatbox recently start getting stuck on the FORUMHOME page (on the loading screen). Nothing ever appears except the word loading. If you click on Chatbox Full and load it that way, you are able to see the msgs and chat like normal. When you go back to the FORUMHOME page, it then loads and functions like normal. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if this is something that has been addressed previously.

Well, after trying just about everything that I could think of, I finally ended up simply uninstalling and re-installing completely. This seems to have fixed whatever was wrong with it and now everything is functioning properly. The only bad thing is, is that I lost all of the archive. But other than that, at least it's working again. We've been using this mod for over a year now with no problems so I can only assume (since there have been no recent changes on my end) that the upgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.1.9 somehow did something. Oh well, all's well that ends well I guess.

**After a little messing with it, I discovered that after closing the browsers and reopening the forum, I am still getting stuck on the loading message. Once I view any forum post and go back to FORUMHOME, then it is functioning. Argh...anything??

**Update - Someone helped me find the problem that was causing this mod and another not to work. There was a line in the Add Ignore User To Postbit Dropdown mod that was conflicting in here. So I don't know if this will help anyone else or not, but what was removed here was the line
