In display and position there is an option to exclude the chatbox from certain styles, you just have to input the style id.

The version here is not encoded anymore so unless you are using the BF version (in which case you should not be asking for help here but directly on my forum), you shouldn't have this error.

What I meant is if for some reason before doing that upgrade, you shouldn't be getting issues.

Oh if you are trying on your local PC, have changed the setting of js files loading from server instead of google ?

Have a look in your server logs and see if you get any php error.

I installed this and was no longer able to access my website. I uninstalled and reinstalled and am able to access my website again but the chat does not display at alll. Even the CMS integration does not work when I add the chat widget to the CMS page. Nothing displays at all.

I contacted the company and they were not helpful at all. Wasted my money - I even paid extra for the brand free version.

I'm taking it out of my website.

I should point out that to uninstall this I had to completely delete and reload my entire forum environment as well as restore the database because I was no longer able to access the admincp. It took many hours to get back to where I was before I installed this.

The only good thing is that my site is still being developed so I didn't lose any user posts or data.

I wish I had read the more recent postings here as there are other people who have had this same problem of being locked out of the admincp. I sure hope they had recent backups of their entire forum environment to use for recovery.

Because my site is still in the development phase I decided to give this addon one last try.

After restoring both the forum directories and the database, I reinstalled this addon for the 4th time. This time it finally worked. I can now see the chat box on the forum and CMS pages.

While it may have been something I missed during the first three attempts that caused the install errors I am still very concerned that an error during the install process can leave you completely locked out of the admincp. (see posts from other admins) This is a very serious flaw that could have resulted in lost posts and user data if my site was already online.

Another concern is that the addon did not come with detailed instructions for any type of back out and recovery plan should issues like a lockout occur. The only warning included was to back up the database.

For all you site admins that are considering this addon I would strongly suggest doing a complete backup of your entire forum site like I did just prior to installation. Also, allow for plenty of down time should you need to restore your forum site.

I will mark this as installed because it now seems to be working and will provide an update after a trial period.

I've been playing with the options and when I set the Hide Refresh Display option in the "Configuration of the small size version" to yes the chat only displays "loading" and nothing else.

When I set that option back to no then the chat works again. I've repeated this several times and the result is the same.

This should explain (but not solve) many of those "loading" issues reported

I will continue to update this thread with findings as I go through a shakedown of this addon.

I posted my test results in order to help others that have the same issues. Isn't that the point of these forums.... to discuss common issues in the hopes that collaboration can result in solutions?

Disco_Stu, as stated on my forum carefully following the instructions won't lock you from your admincp.
And btw, question on the BF and the non BF version or even on the CMS module aren't to be asked here are there are differences between both version.

When you are not sure or you don't understand the instructions, don't install anything before you are sure or what you do.
Otherwise it leads to unaccurate posts due to misunderstandings !

I have installed Evo on a freshly upgraded vBulletin site and it is sitting there looking pretty but just gets to the 'loading' stage and stops, if you type something for the chat and hit enter nothing, apparently, happens. If you repeat the action you get a warning that you just did that and it is processing it.

No errors are shown.

I re-downloaded Evo to ensure that I had latest copy again and re-uploaded it last evening.

Same thing here.. I still have that issue. I'm forced to use an older version.

No not a thing, its literately been working perfectly since i had it, there was that bug in the previous version 321 i think then 323 was fine up till today...

Came home form work and it was just stuck on loading....

I disabled the plugin and my whole site went offline, so i uninstalled it.

Reinstalle dit again and it would not even show up on the forum anymore....

currently it works well most of the time but there are times when it just slows everything down.. and wont load the chat at all..

Sounds to me like you might have been hacked or another person is editing/changing templates (another admin/mod) as it doesn't change settings unless someone manually changes them.

Sid, please include the mgc version, vbulletin version, browser, webserver (unix or windows) as more info is needed.

Just updated the chatbox, seems to be working fine except for one change, when chatbox is in full screen mode the input field is looking a little "funny", ive attached an image for you to see what im seeing.

Looks fine on the homepage, only looks that way in full screen mode.

FF, generally he uses a admin test account but it's not always needed.

Just PM him the info and he'll get to it.

He's on vacation for the week if I recall correctly so he won't get to it until next week.

Kinda hard for the Hack Coder to diagnose your issue if you wouldnt give him access.

goto your admincp, look to the left, click on the mgc area. And enable the commands and for the groups you want them allowed for.

ionCube Loader is enabled (seeing we were forced to), but from my understanding it was removed (requirements) from the chatbox on newer versions.

short_open_tag is off.

mod_security cannot be found in the php information.

And I understand that it's difficult to diagnose the issue without access, but I was hoping multiple people would have the same issue as me for a quicker solution.

Just an update, we should have a new version shortly. No ETA (as of yet) so please don't keep asking when because I don't know yet. ;)

it doesnt bring up any errors..

i have since disabled the mod as its causing too many issues unfortunately and the users are just griping away..

so i await for the next update in hopes that it will fair better. with less loading errors and less issues with server being busy etc.

To check if there is a Mod_Security issue: AdminCP > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Problematic Webserver Modules > CLICK SUBMIT
If Mod_Security has "yes" that's where the issue lies.
