You don't need to change anything for the WIC hack.

In which case... thanks very much for this hack. Really adds value to my messageboard (and god knows my board needs it...!!)

Cheers.

Funkie 03-13-2006 02:42 PM

Ok first of all nice script thx Tufat you should charge more:)

Now second to Paul just how can you call this Flashchat Integration for vB 3.5 all the work was done by Tufat and you haven't even integrated to vb otherwise the page would show header navbar and footer

so tell me what did you actually contribute to this hack?

Holidazed 03-13-2006 03:05 PM

Too true. I would love to see this flashchat embedded into my site look and feel. The proper header and footer would be awesome.

Out of respect to the author please keep communications civilize. eg. If you don't have nothing productive to say then don't say nothing.

Your next post may be removed.

Funkie 03-13-2006 08:50 PM

I am sorry if everyones taken it the wrong way I wasn't meaning to be rude in any way.

I was just asking as the script is writen by Tufat what did paul contribute its a simple question and there is no rudeness meant by it.

intergration for a script like this that already works with vb would mean header etc not just a page none of your members can get back to your forums from.

Sorry if I offended anyone

Paul M 03-13-2006 09:24 PM

Perhaps you should try reading the notes instead of shooting your mouth off.

The latest versions of Flashchat (i.e. 4.4.1 and above) now include my integration as part of the standard Tufat supplied files ..
Flashchat only "already works with vb" becuase of the vbulletin35CMS.php integration file that I wrote (and maintain, on behalf of Tufat). You will also find several other bits of my code embedded in the flashchat files, since Tufat has included them over time. The vb3.0 integration file is also maintained by me.

As for headers & footers, they have absolutely nothing to do with integration whatsoever. What planet are you on ?

For the record, you did not just ask a simple question, your exact words were "all the work was done by Tufat and you haven't even integrated to vb"

Trolls do not offend me, but ignorance makes me angry.

Funkie 03-13-2006 09:50 PM

I take my hat off to you then top bit of coding works a treat

Holidazed 03-13-2006 11:02 PM

Paul M, thank you for the integration. I did not know it was you who did that. I did not see any reference on Tufat's website giving you credit for it.

As for the headers and footers, it is not a manditory thing, but I would love it if I could force flashchat to work inside my existing site navigation.

My name is in the relevant files if you look. :) I also got a nice "thank you" from Darren for my efforts ;)

There is already a hack available (by noppid I think) to embed the flashchat page inside a vb page.

Holidazed 03-14-2006 01:07 AM

Thank you. I found it at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=100317. You might want to make it an addon.

I can't do that, it has to be done by the other hacks owner.

Rivers 03-15-2006 03:36 AM

Guys,

I just installed it and everything seems to work fine. A couple of questions:

1. Is there anyway I can get a direct link to /chat/admin.php from the VB admin CP? I am currently typing it in manually in the IE address bar.

2. How can I find what usergroup number my custom user group is?

3. I can't seem to find this within Admin CP -> "Go to vBulletin settings and set the groups that are allowed to access the FlashChat vB Page under FlashChat vB Page Settings." Did I install something wrongly? I can't seem to find any FlashChat vB Page settings, or is he referring to /chat/admin.php?

Thanks.

Funkie 03-15-2006 04:43 AM

ok number

1 read this post https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=755

2 go in to your vbull admincp and click on usergroups all your usergroup numbers are listed there you will only have a customer usergroup if you have set one up

Funkie 03-15-2006 04:56 AM

Yea... That is some funny S**t... I was cracking up when I first installed it and one of my users wandered in and carried like a 15 min conversation with the bot and was getting severly pissed at it.. lol

cdoyle 03-17-2006 08:42 PM

Hi,
I have this hack working and it only allows my paying members into the chat. I was thinking of allowing my non paying members into the chat this weekend.

It's been so long since I installed this, I can't remember. Is there away in the admincp, to change the permission settings?

Paul M 03-17-2006 08:48 PM

No, you edit the vbulletin35CMS.php file.

cdoyle 03-17-2006 09:00 PM

That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure.

any plans on making a hack so it can be done in the admin cp :)

Plans - yes.

Will those plans ever happen - that remains to be seen ....

Synth 03-20-2006 05:57 PM

Installed and working great with vB3.5.4 Flash Chat 4.5.6 and noppids' FlashChat on vBulletin Page:)

Thanks!

ubblite 03-20-2006 10:31 PM

Just want to say thank you Paul for this extension. Right now I'm using vbShout but I think I'm going to give this a try as I keep having mySQL errors with vbShout - it could by my host but what the heck.

Synth 03-21-2006 11:58 AM

I cannot for the life of me find where to change the FlashChat title. I have looked through phrases, templates, xml's, .php's, from this hack and noppids page integration hack and can't find it. I have found instances in the xml but it did not change on the site even after editing the xml, uninstalling the old one, and installing the edited one. LOL

Please see attachment

Any Ideas:)

Paul M 03-21-2006 03:12 PM

Don't know - that would be part of noppids hack.

silurius 03-21-2006 04:09 PM

Hi Paul. I'm looking at the readme and at the first post, but I'm missing the upgrade steps. Could you clarify what's needed for existing users of this? Thanks.

Paul M 03-21-2006 04:16 PM

1. Import/reimport the product.

2. Replace your copy of the vbulletin35CMS.php with the latest one. Remember to re-edit the usergroup access section if you have altered this for custom usergroups.

Support for 4.5.x photo feature added with choice of avatar or profile picture.

How do I create this?
How does this function?
What must I do there?
I hope now you understand!

Paul M 03-30-2006 06:21 AM

You don't really need to do anything - assuming you have flashchat installed correctly, it just works - by default it uses avatars - you can change that to profile pictures in the CMS file (bearing in mind that it currently only supports avatars/profile pics that are stored in the databse, not in the file system).

Hello!

Thanks for the information, I have my Pics in the file system, because it must be thus for another minced meat.

When will it also function with the file system?

Don't know, possibly never, it's not a high priority I'm afraid.
