Once you set the usergroup permissions in admincp, the run /forums/downloads.php. You should then see the option to "Add" if you are in a usergroup with those permissions.

CyberRanger 08-10-2005 07:08 PM

I do have one small problem. When I edit the usergroup settings, the last two lines don't display any text. See attached:

s1l3NCER 08-10-2005 08:05 PM

I uninstall thsi hack couse itgave me a ugly mysql error when i try to edit my groups.. and I still have the same problem eventhough I uninstall it. but good job.

Did you do a change the permissions on your download directory to 777?

CyberRanger 08-11-2005 01:33 AM

One more small issue. When a file is deleted, the summary page of categories does not have the correct count, although the detail listing of sub-categories does.

Wrong count: http://www.strategyzoneonline.com/fo...php?styleid=74, note how MultiManPublishing has a count of 9. That includes deleted files.

Correct count: http://www.strategyzoneonline.com/fo...d=1&styleid=74 , sub-categories have the correct count.

No, not a file. You should create a directory under forums.

JMH11788 08-11-2005 04:07 PM

the settings link doesnt work in Admic CP...it seems its not even in the php file, while category is.

Any reason, or way to fix?

You need to apply the fixes listed at the top of this thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...chmentid=33210

Drago912 08-12-2005 01:45 AM

Full of bugs.....support sux.....has since been uninstalled........when something stable and working comes out I might consider another try, till then......notta

This mod is too buggy to be reliable. Updates and bugfixes should be incorporated immediately in the download package. Instructions should be much clearer and easy to follow..

There are other solutions to this (non vbulletin) that can be implemented, at least thats what I will do. So... *uninstalled*

Im not trying to hack down on the time and effort gone into this by the creator, just sharing my opinion to rest of the vbulletin users. Maybe it can get better, the idea is good.

Fixed this myself. In admincp/usergroup.php, around line 205, there was a mis-spelled phrase.

Change:
PHP Code:

    print_yes_no_row($vbphrase['ecdownloads_can_eidt_all_files'], 'usergroup[caneditallfiles]'$ug_bitfield['caneditallfiles']);

To:
PHP Code:

    print_yes_no_row($vbphrase['ecdownloads_can_edit_all_files'], 'usergroup[caneditallfiles]'$ug_bitfield['caneditallfiles']);

That will fix the text for "Can Edit All Files".

The last line is supposed to read "Can View Disabled Download Section." The vbphrase it is looking for is "ecdownloads_can_view_disabled". However, the vbphrase (under type Permissions) is actually "ecdownloads_view_disabled". You need to either modify the existing vbphrase or add a new phrase named "ecdownloads_can_view_disabled".

:ermm: I don't know then. My install is working fairly good. I don't consider it that buggy for the value that is added.

BTW - the author is focusing on the 3.5 version ... so give him a break!

Make sure you do the fixes from that are at the top of the page: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...chmentid=33210. That will fix the blank settings link. Check your settings then try the user groups again.

is there a file edit i have to do to get it to link to that downloads folder or something?

Bernd 08-13-2005 01:10 PM

Will a future upgrade include screenshot uploads? That's the only thing I'm currently missing.

ah ... replace the prefix with either your db prefix or remove that and make it just dl_stats.

Make sure that the setting in the admincp is the same as where your dl folder is.

i have a problem. the settings section in the admincp wount come up....its just a blank white page....

Ron1n 08-15-2005 08:06 PM

It seems like everyone is suffering from the same errors that are fixable if you follow westpointer's advice.... so just look at the posts he has been making and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

I have a better idea, dont ever use anything I make again. You could try making one yourself, but I doubt you have the brains.

thephonemall 08-15-2005 08:53 PM

Ron1n:

This is an excellent addition to VB. With this much code there is bound to be a couple bugs. I apologize on behalf of all the complainers. There is no way we could attempt to code something like this ourselves.
I am still having an SQL error but I am sure it will be figured out shortly. This looks like an awesome MOD! I'll clikc install as soon as i get it running.

thephonemall 08-15-2005 08:54 PM

I am getting this error When I click on a category in downloads.php..

---------------------
Warning: Division by zero in /includes/functions.php on line 1861

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.8:

Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM dl_files WHERE `purgatory` = '0' AND `category` = '3' ORDER BY `pin` DESC, `date` DESC LIMIT 0,
mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

mysql error number: 1064
------------------------------

Anyone got an answer?
Thanks :surprised:

bspiller82 08-15-2005 09:23 PM

Uninstalled as well. I'll try going back to an older version. This new one just will NOT work. The permissions in the admin cp are blank and with all the fixes supplied they don't fix it.

thephonemall 08-15-2005 09:30 PM

Nevermind.. I fixed this problem as per Ron1n's instructions at:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ion#post752016

Simply Change the number of files from "20" to "5" and then hit Save.
Categories are now viewable.

Not to worry........the crap aint worth my time........and no I cant create my own but if I could I'd make sure it worked without bugs before putting it out there. You probably didnt create the code anyway.........lol

ZombieAndy 08-16-2005 12:18 AM

hey show some respect man ive had a few problems with this hack but ive followed the advice given and now its working properly so if yours isnt working its becuase you havn't installed it right and are too ignorant to follow the advice given. if you cant even install it then you have no chance at making one yourself so show some respect to the people who do.

JMH11788 08-16-2005 03:30 AM

okay, I got everything working now. Great hack Ron1n!

For the new version, think you could have a "Random Files" box? I think that would be cool! It would also be KICK@SS if you could include a WYSIWYG Editor like cinq has on his stuff. NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL! maybe have him help you if you dont know how? his site is http://vbarticles.com/

let me know what you think!

As it is Open Source, you are allowed to use it for free wherever you want."
It is compatible with IE 5+, Mozilla and Netscape. I have editted some of the files in the FCKeditor package for the purposes of this hack.
Note that I will not support this functionality at all, use the WYSIWYG feature in the Admincp at your own risk.

If you decide against it, you will lack the ability to upload images to your site via a http interface. But you can still do so through FTP or other means and
include the neccessary img tags in your article contents.

Ron1n 08-16-2005 04:59 AM

I'm sorry to say I wont be adding new functionality to the mod for 3.0.8, just for 3.5. I will add your ideas in the future, I hope you upgrade to 3.5.

Shockingly, that is the smartest thing you have said in any of your vbulletin.org posts. Now go back to your no-traffic forum and stfu kthxbye!

Hoffi 08-16-2005 06:54 AM

I have a Question. i don't understand the following:

Can Avoid Purgatory

What did this mean?

And the Usergroup Right "Can Link to Files"? Is that, that the Usergroup can use external Files when adding a new Download?

by the way: Good Hack.
