FOR ANYONE that's getting THIS ERROR:
Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.3:

Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM article
WHERE categoryid=2 AND (articleuserid=1 OR open IN (0,1)) ORDER BY dateline DESC LIMIT 0,
mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 2

mysql error number: 1064
Go to ACP --> Vboptions --> V3 Article --> Edit whatever you like then SAVE IT !

it only works after doing this, re-read the instrucstion of John, he noticed about that but noone here cares to give an ass on it, sigh.

With this mod, can I specify a different template for my articles from what I use for the forums?

pgp2003 12-20-2004 08:30 PM

i installed this and everything's working fine... BUT.. there is one problem... everytime we click on the article link in the navbar it asks us to login again... is there anywhere in the code we need to set a directory for cookies that i missed or something?

If yes: How can I do it?

you would need to edit the php file and some templates.

Osterling 12-26-2004 04:26 AM

isn't on the search.php page there a way to have it search the articles too, is this a hack?

SVTOA 12-26-2004 05:51 PM

Ok, WTF is going on with this hack??? On John's site somebody has defaced the articles posted, all the support threads have been removed, and earlier today on this forum there was security fix for the article hack that has mysteriously disappeared!

Please do not just delete my post without some sort of PM or explaination as to why. If this hack has security bugs people should know about it!

assassingod 12-26-2004 06:41 PM

Important Security Fix - Please download the attachment 'Articles-permissions-fix.txt' created by Paul M

SVTOA 12-26-2004 06:45 PM

hmmm... Ok great, but what happened to the original thread Paul posted?

I posted a nice long explanation in my original topic.

Most of the "fixes" in this are large block replacements of code - this is not because large amounts of the code have been changed (most of the original code is still there unchanged) it is because there are many small additions and changes to all the sections to fix the holes, and there was no way I was going to list every single one, it was easyier to just list them as block replacements.

As I also said in the original topic, v3 Articles is not my hack and I am not supporting it - I will try and answer questions about my fixes (only) if I can, but at the end of the day it's your choice as to whether you use them. Make sure you backup your existing articles.php before you make any changes. FYI: All these changes have been working on our site for the last few weeks.

Is it still imposible to move articles from one category to another?

Is it just me... or does the WYSIWYG editor not include the Insert Image icon?

Is there a setting to disable inserting images into articles? I've enabled HTML and [IMG] tage for the categories.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It shows up here.

assassingod 12-27-2004 11:29 AM

Attention

I've updated the ZIP file with Paul M's security fixes. I've also updated the version number to 1.0.2 and added upgrade instructions for 1.0.1 users, please read Security Fix Upgrade .txt in the ZIP file - if you have already applied Paul M's fix, you DO NOT need to download the latest ZIP, you are already running 1.0.2.

Any questions, post here!

Nick0r 12-28-2004 03:22 PM

Not too sure what's up but since that recent update it's made my forums take forever to load.

Nick0r 12-28-2004 03:26 PM

It was this bit that seemed to have done the damage: In includes/init.php
====================

FIND:

ABOVE THIS, ADD:

I have added the ability to do both of these (via admincp only) to the version we run. I also fixed the very annoying edit/preview problem. I was going to release them all as an addon, but the events of the other day have put me off the idea for now. Maybe in the new year. :)

i dont see anything in the admincp... mind pointing to the exact location?

lanc3lot 12-29-2004 12:28 PM

Is there a way to dissapear the feature article?

I mean no article to feature any more:)

Also, Paul M, did u find a way, to upload more screenshots than one, per time?

Thanks in advance

Actually, if you applied my fixes from the other day I think you can use this link ;

http://<yourdomain>/<forumpath>/article.php?do=feature&a=-1

It was something I added to ours, but forgot about until now.

Could this be because I have the v3arcade installed? should this code go above or below the arcade code in init.php?

lanc3lot 12-29-2004 04:46 PM

Yep did the trick about featured articles:)

Thanks a lot mate:), if u had any luck to the other questio(about upload more than one shot per time), let me know:)

Thanks a lot, happy new year

cool.

any chance this method would work on reducing the count for Articles and Comments on the Category displaY?

Deyth 12-29-2004 05:51 PM

Very nice hack.

Guy G 12-29-2004 06:57 PM

bhaa im so stupid...

if anyone deleted comments \ articles from the database and still sees the text than he should remove those entries from the database as well, on the lastcommentby field and related to that...

everything is awesome now :]

whitetigergrowl 12-30-2004 04:03 PM

I thought there was a v3articles coming out for 3.0.3?! He said all he had to do was compress and upload the 3.0.3 version. That was quite awhile ago. What happened?!
