In most cases you put the .swf file in /forums/games/
the jpegs in /forums/images/arcade/
the fungame.game.php file in /forums/admincp/

then you run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/admincp/fungame.game.php
to install the game.
Delete the fungame.game.php file.
enjoy

Thanks!

They were only released on my site, sorry.

I have put together a list of every flash game that has been released for the v3Arcade addon and listed it on my site. In addition, I have made seperate lists for the following:
  • All games released on all sites sorted by Contributor
  • All games released on all sites sorted by Game Title
  • All games released on this site as well as v3Arcade Sorted by game Title
The banned games were removed off all lists (except the "Banned Game" list)

You can find this list by Clicking Here.

I did this because I wanted the thank the game contributors as well as have a place where I would not have to hunt down the games forum by forum and thread by thread.

Yeah but $25 is kinda steep to get them from your site. Any chance you may go south on that price?

pgowder 10-09-2004 01:19 AM

$25 is well worth the price for me. It saves hours of me hunting down the files and watching threads for them. Plus its cheaper after the first month.

hmm regardless of the work you have done the hack still remains Johns interlectual property so i would say if you are going to charge for it then he has a right to licence it out to you as the original hack is free

i also would say for the changes u made its not worth it altho some say differently :)

Holidazed 10-09-2004 03:01 PM

You would have to re-order the service when you want to renew. The additional months are cheaper because you already have most of the games.

I am not selling the arcade. I am selling access to an ftp site that contains the product of alot of my time. That is all. How many people out there hunt down information and files on a particular subject (that they did not originate) and sell access to that information. There is nothing wrong with what I am doing. I even give 3 disclaimers on my site that says I have no affiliation with v3arcade or vbulletin at all. There is nothing illegal in what I am doing. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

For the record, their has been alot of new releases for the arcarde at Johns site v3arcade.com and theres also been alot at v3arcadegames.com in case you have not visited in awhile.

Forum-Style 10-11-2004 06:21 AM

Does any one know whats games have 2 player or internet options, i installed about 60 games but cant see any that allow this, even thou there is a option install on the arcade, guess its down to the game iteself, could anyone let me know if they know of any please. :)

Holidazed 10-11-2004 01:57 PM

You guys complain that I am charging for access to my ftp site, but you say nothing of what is happening at http://www.v3arcadegames.com. they charge $20 for the first month and $10 for each addtional month for access to the games and that is their cheap membership. I di not think this is a matter of intelectual property as you say.

pgowder 10-11-2004 02:02 PM

For me the $25 has already paid for itself. Even at a low CPM rate, the increased adviews has generated enough revenue to pay for the $25.

*lol*, I can't believe someone's set up a site for selling games that don't belong to them.

Lawsuit waiting to happen.

I hope they at least got the permission of those that did the converting.

No-one asked me for permission, so I doubt they ask the actual authors of the games.

While a lot of authors are happy for their games to be used free of charge, I doubt many of them will tolerate other people selling their titles.

Holidazed 10-12-2004 03:45 PM

This is no different than people selling themes and mods for the phpnuke site. They are not selling phpnuke itself so it is not an intellectual property issue.

If you want to talk intellectual property then talk about all the games that the hundreds of sites are running using the v3arcade addon. I am quite sure that nobody asked permission of the authors of the games to use them. Some of the games are used with permission but many are not. An example would be all the Yeti Sports games, the Sonic games, etc.

If you shutdown sites that provide the games, then you are shutting down the arcades that run them too.

Converting a game does not give you ownership of the game, it just makes you an accessory to stealing them (unless they happen to have gotten permission).

Yeti7 - Snowboard Freeride

Enjoy it!

rinkrat 10-14-2004 01:17 PM

Yeah, storing all the games on your site then charging other webmasters to access them is pretty cheezy. Get a real job.

Oh please. It is not as if I am the only place you can get these games. How many sites sell information and files they have spent their own time gathering. It is not different at all. Just because you are too cheap to pay does not make it cheasy. I will get a real job if you will get a real life!

stlmike 10-14-2004 01:30 PM

bitg, yes seems my post dont last long @ v3arcade.com

I totally disagree with ppl charging to download games.

You may disaggree, but that does not make you right or charging for games wrong.

stlmike 10-14-2004 01:36 PM

yes im stlmike.

Im totally against that site v3arcade games site. I asked them to remove one game. Since the author whats the file free to download to for everyone. Whats the Admin there do, removes the post and trys to ban me.

PurrFect 10-14-2004 05:52 PM

Thanks for the new release xJACKASS. It's appreciated. :classic:

MovieMaster, thanks for posting. Any games space or sci-fi related are sure to go in my collection. :D

Areku 10-15-2004 08:23 AM

Ne1 got yeti 6 for the v3Arcade?

Dream 10-17-2004 06:15 AM

500 games, congrats John

MMCNL 10-17-2004 07:55 AM

xJACKASS, thanks very much for Yeti Sports. It's a very addictive game! But the restart button (which you get when the game ends) doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if you would know how to fix that?
Thanks in advance and I must say I really appreciate the effort you guys put in bringing games so that our communities can enjoy them!

msimplay 10-17-2004 09:31 AM

i don't disagree with him selling the games however if people buy off him then they must be stupid especially when the games have been available free for ages
if people want the games they may convert them on their own too its not hard to learn that little bit of flash to edit the games to work or even get a friend to do it
and loads of games are freely available on v3arcade.com which no doubt is probably one of the sources of bitg's archive

I wonder if you'll do games not available on the other sites

MMCNL 10-17-2004 09:54 AM

I think you shouldn't make money on someone else's work. If you decide to let customers pay for games, the gamedevelopers deserve more of a percentage then the one who sells them. The only "work" they have is searching for the games and bundling them into one package. The developers made those games, and I doubt it if the seller even has permission from the developers...

Anyway, I'm still wondering if someone has a fix for Yeti 7 ;).

That's wierd. I don't see the people wanting to use these games ask the developers for permission. Talk about a double standard!!! You have no idea what you are talking about.

Dream, there are not 500 games that I am aware of, what are you referring too?

Wential 10-17-2004 02:49 PM

True bitg!

As for the games, I know that 500 number Dream spoke of is probably accurate although I haven't sat down and counted all of them. Most reside on underground private sites of people who have converted them without permission from anyone. Don't bother doing a web search for them, they won't show up. Since I'm not a snitch, I won't be the one turning them in. Also because some have made it to my private arcade that I don't have connected to the web. This is to keep from getting sued over having them. I only play them for my own enjoyment.

V3Arcade is so limited on releases due to legalities, I rarely even go there anymore. I have contributed $$$ to John for the Arcade software out of respect for what he created. It just became too political for my taste with all the restrictions. Still, he is an awesome coder in my book and my negative views on the subject have nothing to do with him.

Holidazed 10-28-2004 04:03 PM

I have stopped selling access to my FTP site and will be providing access to all the games for free. I am doing this because Dechevious pissed me off.

Anyway, in respect to the people that have already paid for access, I will not be offering the games until the last of them have had their account expire.

These games will be listed at http://v3arcade.morehotdeals.com. When the games go live, you will not be able to get any game that has been officially banned on www.v3arcade.com. This list is as follows:

A list of stlmike's releases can be found at http://v3arcade.morehotdeals.com/contributor.html

If you can wait until 11/23/04, I will be making all the games I have available for download for free. if you cannot wait, you can goto www.v3arcadegames.com and signup for their subscription plan and then download the games or you can send me $20 via paypal and I will give you access to my ftp.
