I think I set this all up correctly however my 36000 users in vbulletin have not populated into wordpress as I only see 141 users there, and when I go to a wordpress article and click login to leave a comment it shows the vbulletin logged in successful message but then re-directs back to the wordpress article and still asks me to log in, please advise? Thank you

Could you please specify the vbulletin version and steps that caused redirect loop problem? |
Hello,
We're using VBSSO with mediawiki, and recently upgraded our mediawiki installation from 1.21.2 to 1.22.6. (vbulletin version 4.2.2) VBSSO stopped working when we upgraded, and we've reinstalled both halves of the plugin with no luck. Any ideas? When a user tries to log in on our wiki, they're redirected to the forum login like normal. When they return to the wiki, however, they are not logged in - but now, in addition to the option to log in, their IP address is also displayed, along with a link to 'Talk for this IP address.' So our users are fine on the forum, but can't log into the wiki. |
Are there any plans to support the latest MediaWiki 1.22.6?

Same issue as the two above who are using MediaWiki 1.22. Logging in works fine on vBulletin 4.2.2, but I cannot log in on MediaWiki 1.22.5. This is a fresh install, not an upgrade.
|
I'm also having the same issue with MediaWiki 1.22.6 with vB 4.2
|
I tried installing the mediawiki portion and once I make the changes to LocalSettings.php and refresh the page, I get nothing but a white screen. I did login as admin prior to the changes. Same behavior on MediaWiki 1.21.9 and the latest 1.22.6.
Do I need to try to get an even older MediaWiki? |

Hello xeagle,
I run vbulletin forums v4.2.1 and have integrated with WP v3.8.1 through vbsso plugin. I find there is a bug in the registration process. Below is the detailed step by step of the registration process - -Step 1 " Registration page - /forums/register.php - Fill the form with details and click "Complete Registration" button - Step 2 -Redirects to - /forums/register.php?do=addmember with message "Loging you in.." -Step 3 - Lands in - /forums/register.php with message - Our records show that you have already registered under the name of <username>. If you have lost your password, click here. If you would like to modify your profile, click here. ( Refer screen shot) Attachment 149204 Couple of questions for clarification: 1)I logout completely and clear all my cookies and cache and then tried the registration process. In spite of giving a different email id, user name why is it bringing back to /forums/register.php with a misleading message that the record already exist ( in fact it is a new user record and there is no previous record of this user in the DB.) 2)Have set the vbsso such that at step 3 once the registration form gets filled and submit it should land in - /forums/vbsso/vbsso.php?a=act&do=verifyemail. Why is this not happening? How to fix it? Thanks in advance. |
Since this is no longer being updated and I had errors being logged, I ended up installing this extension and it worked fine:

Hi,
We are having a strange issues with the login process between vBulletin and Wordpress. It seems that on Chrome and Safari vBulletin members are logged in correctly all at once. As in, vBulliten members are able to post comments on Wordpress blog pages. In Firefox and IE though users are successfully logged in to vBulletin, but not into Wordpress. As in, they can post on vBulliten, but for comments on WP blog pages users are treated as guest. The one thing I have noticed when testing this is that on Chrome and Safari after pressing submit on the login form you are directed to a page that reads: "Redirecting... Thank you for logging in"+ <user name>. In IE and Firefox you are not shown that page. I have looked through the header info and it looks like on Chrome you just get a Post to that page, and in firefox you get a post followed quickly by a Get. I don't know if that's relivent. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Thanks for the quick response! I gave it shot. Unfortunately adding the policy didn't seem to change anything. It may still be the issue. It's possible I goofed up the implementation. But since adding an xml privacy policy made chrome start throwing a "The site's security certificate is not trusted!" warning. I'm going to hold off on trying it again at the moment. |

So, we didn't increment the version of vBSSO MediaWiki 1.0.1, however just uploaded (replaced old one with) the version where the issue is solved. New one is awaiting for your feedback. ;) Thank you, |
Yes, that works perfectly!! Thank you very much :)

vB 4.2.0 Patch Level 2 I uninstalled everything in both MW and vB, then reinstalled it, and it appears to be working properly now. :) |
I ran into one user account which wasn't working after reinstalling. Checking the user in the database compared to other accounts which were working the difference seemed to be in the user_email_authenticated, user_email_token, user_email_token_expires fields. That user can now log in properly to MediaWiki after those fields were nulled.
I think this is because at some point I changed the settings on email authentication? |
