The hook in question is process_templates_complete. Try disabling all other plugins using that hook, and re-enable them one by one until you find the culprit.

i found the culprit mate its got to do something with this plugin.

I disabled vb shout and everything seems to work right.

I would want to use this plugin ahead this is y m askin for a solution

I have upgraded to latest version of ur chatbox, but there are few bugs on my board : vb4.0.8 PL2

Look at the image and according to the labels i have explained below :

A: Report section didn't follow ajax tools.

B: this pop up flash every time we click on it and it gone away fast. the buttons are unamed or messed up

C: in version 5.0.0 the text area could be resized but now we can't resize it.

and few Questions :

1. when i send a shout, the screen flash and it place and remove my shout for 2 times , better to say it flashed

2. i got Error : reponse error . what's this abt?

Just have one question. I am a complete newb to this whole vB thing but, I'm learning! Is there a way to have the shoutbox show up on all pages except the cms page? I left that box blank in the admincp so it would show up everywhere but, was just curious if there is an easy way to leave it off the cms.

Unfortunately that's not incredibly easy, you need to switch to manual deployment of the instance and then add it to the navbar template with a <vb:if condition="THIS_SCRIPT != 'vbcms'"> around it.

Increase the max_packet_size of your MySQL config.

That means your SQL server died. If you're on a shared host, you may be running out of resources.

Generally speaking, forums that receive errors like that should contact their web hosts and see if it happened due to MySQL shutting down because of excess use and if so, consider upgrading to a more powerful hosting plan.

I hope you can help with this issue in IE8. "Unregistered/Not logged In" users keep getting a message in the lower left corner in the status bar that has a Yellow triangle with the text "Error on page".

Hello, thanks for the MOD. I have a question/concern on the 0777 CHmod though.

Should I be concerned about giving that permission out in my sites directory? I have people in my ear telling me I am taking a huge risk, I would just like to hear it from the guys who actually know. Thank you for information you can give me on this concern.

It's only a security risk if you have given people Can Administer Products nilly-willy or in some other way have allowed someone access to that folder via FTP or SSH.

For the most part, it's entirely harmless.

The same goes for the /clientscript/vbulletin_css folder - it's recommended to CHMOD that to 0777 and set the "Store CSS Stylesheets As Files" to Yes :)

Hello all, was hoping I could run this by some of you for advice.

I followed the Read Me directions to what I believe to the letter, but I'm obviously not.

Using WS_FTP, I uploaded the "Upload" folder into my forum's directory (Forums) and set the CHMOD to 0777 (read,write,execute). When I try and import the 'product-dbtech_vbshout' I get the error message...

Can someone point me to the right direction in resolving this? I also tried uploading the file directly to 'public_html'. Same error.

I really appreciate any help at getting this great MOD on my website. Thanks

As per the readme, it's the contents of the upload folder that needs to go in your forum's directory (Forums) :)

Correct. The files are all showing to be in the forum directory. I just went back and one by one installed each file from the 'upload' folder into the directory. Still get that same error.

Sorry for the delay, and thank you for your time. My backup I loaded didnt take well, and I now have a fresh copy and have to start over, sadly. Lot's of work lost, but I learned from my mistake for sure.

This returns a 404. You need to correct that before you can proceed with install :)

I dumped my website, and started over. Reloaded your upload folder, and imported '38' again.

It worked.

When I get it installed on a working website (I lost everything), I will rate you and promote highly. Thank you, I'm sure I and my members will love this.

What is the css for the Textarea?

The input area works off of two StyleVars:
input_background and control_focus_background. The first is before the user selected the input area, and the 2nd is while the user is typing.

The actual shouts' background area works off of the postbit_background StyleVar.

This chatbox is using a TON of resources on my site, is there any way to minimize this?

* Disable the active users block
* Increase time between refresh (10 seconds+)
* Decrease time to idle
* Hide shoutbox from guests
* Turn on auto-idle
