Yes, a big thank you. Can't wait for the final.

dannycutts 12-29-2010 06:18 PM

Has it been updated now?

bkavn 12-29-2010 06:20 PM

Thanks for new version
But I hope the final version will be released early and include showthread :)

btlewand 12-29-2010 07:48 PM

Does the new version work only with 4.1 forward or is it backwards compatible (i.e. 4.08)?

amjadz4 12-29-2010 09:42 PM

Works on 4.1 ... lite version doesnt work on thread display.

@mccollin Calendar works for me.

Thanks for the update! waiting for Gold! :)

dannycutts 12-29-2010 10:39 PM

new version does not work for me... in fact when I uninstalled it I did not notice any change....

dannycutts 12-29-2010 10:54 PM

strange how this is just not a standard feature with Vbulletin we pay all that cash to them and it is about as flexible as a 6 inch steel....lol maybe one day it will be standard :-)

Yeah, they made a half-ass "sidebar" for WHAT? As if users don't want latest replies and threads and other crap when they are viewing forum display and thread pages. It doesn't make any sense. I guess the developers want to keep some things open so people who DO need it would go out and look for their "side" businesses and pay extra.

It is also missing some features, which I ASSUME are not there or not possible. I made a post about it on vb and here but no answer. The two issues I am having is being able to use conditionals and php includes. I know that php includes MAYBE possible but there is mention of it in the manual so, I feel betrayed and regret buying upgrade from 3.8 to 4.1 for ONE of my forums.

They wasted too much effort on PoS CMS and I think that is why forum part has suffered.

texasteamplayer 12-30-2010 04:22 AM

appears the mod dev meant to say...

"when installing the new Lite version, UNINSTALL your previous version of ESB".

this installs itself as a new mod, and not as an overwriting update to an existing mod.

Why, developer?

texasteamplayer 12-30-2010 04:23 AM

and this lite version is missing core functions that make it not worth switching to.

no side bar in thread displays? profile pages?

texasteamplayer 12-30-2010 04:26 AM

wierd. installing one removes the other from options...but looking at plugin manager, they are listed as separate mods.

this release is messed up. I recommend sticking with the current 1.3.4.

Guys this released version is for people wants to use sidebar for 1.4.1 and can't wait for the full release.
The full version is ready it is just needs more testing time.

dannycutts 12-30-2010 08:59 AM

OK lets hope it works perfectly..... :-)

mccollin 12-30-2010 12:19 PM

almannai, Thanks for releasing this interim version for those of us that are on 4.1. Its working well for me as a temporary solution. It was clear from your post when you announced it that you were giving us something to meet your original year end estimate, but it was missing some features... so no complaints from me, and I applaud you for taking the time to deliver something for year end.

GlassGossip 12-30-2010 01:21 PM

will it be able to get the sidebar to show in thread views as well?

Thank you!!

the 1.4.1 full version should be same as 1.3.4 or better

GlassGossip 12-30-2010 01:42 PM

did i miss that? Where can i find the 1.4.1 full version? Or is it not released jet? If so do you have an idea when it will be ready?

Thank you so much for doing this

Soon :)

Zweeper 12-31-2010 12:53 PM

something strange happens, it seems like my option menue is missing a lot of options.
for example: "1. First enable showing sidebar for custom pages from mod options."

i dont find this option

mccollin 12-31-2010 02:23 PM

Is anyone reading this thread before they post? The developer has said that he released an interim version with limited function because he had told us he'd have something out by year end. (thank you!!!!) It has "limited" function. He's said that the full version is developed, but not finished being tested, and he's said it will have all the function of the original full version, plus possibly more. Come on folks... let him work on testing the thing instead of answering the same questions over and over.

Stick with 1.3.4 if it works for the vb version you are using.

You would need to find a way to do the album display in the forum sidebar... and then this mod would pick it up. You'd probably get more help by asking about how to do it in the forum sidebar since everyone would be interested in that.

I just looked and couldn't find any mods to do it... only a mod to show album at the top of forum home.

For what its worth, I use vBGallery from PhotoPost, and their latest version does the forum sidebar images out of the box, as an option. Its a great product if you are into having a lot of images posted. That forum has over 20K images in the gallery and they are blocks for displaying in forum sidebar, forum home, etc.

The 1.4.1 is tested on vb4.1 but it should work with 4.0.8. Try it and see.

Thanks almannai, this final update works fine everywhere EXCEPT in FORUMDISPLAY 1 LEVEL (With Sub-Forums).

dilbert 01-03-2011 05:04 PM

Thanks for updating this!
I have Forum Threads turned off, yet they display.
Any thoughts?

Zweeper 01-03-2011 08:58 PM

i have problems with this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=widget&page=5

its not showing this one, except on the main forum page. on other pages it is an empty blog, and therefore not shown.

I also have some style issues with the "new posts" standard blog from vbulletin. anyone else some issues with that?

Zweeper 01-03-2011 11:11 PM

no, this is not working. it worked for the FAQ problem, but not for this problem.
the user online block still dissapears on all other pages.

dontpanic 01-04-2011 12:05 AM

Hmm, strange...it seems that the 1.4.1 full version is showing blocks that are disabled.

RichieBoy67 01-04-2011 05:56 AM

Any tips for getting this to work on the cms page? I know how to add the sidebar to a custom page but I am a bit concerned with the cms page.

I believe I am having issues because of the layout but I am not sure... Has anyone added the sidebar to the cms? If so any tips would be a big help to me..

Thanks

PHP Code:

require_once(DIR '/includes/functions_bigthree.php');

and as others post that this fixed the problem they where having

What is the issue you are having with "new posts"? it is not clear.

Beware that this mod will not work in blog
