I think this is related to "passiveVid - Showthread Replacement" hook at postbit_display_complete.

When I turn it off everything works without errors.

only works in topics, not replies.

I downgrade to 1.0.9 and the error disappears.

Is there a option where i dont see the gray screen, but a image from the video.
Also it puts in the title the link, is there a option where you can put the title of the vid in the title of the vid on my website

When i turn off costum style it works.. Like it does on youtube

Sometimes video's from break.com simply dont work cause of the url showing.

This is a great mod. I have an incredibly customized version of vBulletin and it worked just fine.

The only thing I would suggest is to adjust the installation instructions just a bit. You say to upload the Bitfield XML - but don't say "where" to upload it to. Took me a bit of looking to figure that out :)

I've got the same issue for Youtube videos but not all the posts just a few.

I have a question.
I have it installed in my forum. The vids show just fine, however when you click on it to play you link away to YouTube as well as it playing in the forum.
I am not sure what is happening and how to prevent the link going to youtube. I just want it to play in my forum.
I have vbAnonymizer installed, and I think its something to do with that, for when I disable it the linking out stops, and it just plays in the forum.

sorry if this already been posted...

but it would be so much better if you told the plugin which forums NOT to show the videos in, not the other way around. most people would only want to restrict certain parts of their forum in my estimation. the bigger the forum, the bigger the pain it is to list all of them you want the plugin active in.

With this mod switched on I am now getting plenty of members that cannot access particular threads, they just get a white screen. ( I only know about those that can be bothered to tell me, there may well be many more) Switch the Mod off and its OK. For those that it affects, they click on a thread but only get a blank white screen. The threads in question do not have video embedded and I cannot see anything in the threads that would conflict.

So with the mod switched on it affects SOME members and only on a FEW threads.

Any ideas? I love the Mod and really want a workaround.

Go to

admin cp>plugins and products>manage products>import product and from there locate the folder on your computer containing the xml file. Simply double click on this file and it will start the process in your admin cp.

The bitfield xml contains the directions which will allow you to enable which of the video sites you want to give permission to be able to be posted in your forum. It is important if you want to disable particular video sites.

If you have basic FTP skills you should be able to add the bitfield xml file to to your forum directory. You need an FTP client to do this and there are many free ones such as smart FTP or some other file transfer software.

In the FTP client you will have to sides

The on the left side (in smart FTP client) will be all of the folders for your website or forum.
Navigate to Forums>includes>xml - here you will see a bunch of files with .xml extensions.

On the right hand side of the panel in the FTP client is basically your computer. Here you have to navigate to the location where you downloaded the source files for this hack.

eg. mycomputer/downloads/rootdirectory/includes/xml/bitfield .xml (or wherever you put it when you downloaded it)

So you have to open all of those folders until you get to the one that has the bitfield xml file in it. Just click on it and then in the middle of the FTP client you will see some arrows. Click the arrow facing the direction of the Forum folders and the transfer will take place in a matter of seconds.

Hopefully that helps any noobs with uploading the bitfield xml file so you and your users can enjoy this hack.

Hi, Is passive vid capable to play my own .mov or .swi videos from my own server? I am running a closed member site and need only lecture videos which are not available on any of the public pages.

Wow, if only I had known this has been 10 months with no fix I would have never installed it. Does anybody know a similar mod that DOES work?

Mine works fine and all embedded videos work. Myspace, google, youtube. I just can't get my own locally hosted video's to play. Has anyone a clue how to do that. I need either .mov, .swf or .wmv to play in the discussion board. and it's not really important to have this feature for the members.

I managed to resize the window and to read the file. IT WORKS.
The only tiny problem that is left is that the video with 640/480 is a tiny bit bigger than the max window in the script. If I could reduce the frame to 1 or 0 border then it would be perfect. Where do I find this setting.

the link code undeneath of myspace videos has "tv" in it. Instead use the url of the browser address, where there's no "tv".
