I'd really really really like usergroup permission settings for this. :)

I'm having a problem, so I have this installed, have had it in stalled since I created my forum, was one of the first things I installed, well had some problems on my forum, I ended up deleting my account because I was mad about something, long story, and well the account that I uploaded the living avatar too, was the admin, and its the deleted account, and now I cannot log into the admin area of the living avatar, any idea how I can? I tried uninstalling, then realized to uninstall I need to get into the admin area of living avatar.

I know this has been asked many times but please can the creators of this mod please add usergroup permissions please please

not sure what i am missing here. i extracted the files to my forum/living_avatars

i go to plugins and ad plugin

give the, living_avatars/setup/

and nothing happens. what am i doing wrong. I am new to Vbulletin forum and learning as i go

Since this plugin does not use usergroups is there a condition I can use to only display the Living Avatars in the userscp only if they belong to a certail usergroup? Can some post the code for that and where to place it please

Does anyone know why only my admin/mods/smods & premium members can post there avatar. For example all members can go into their control panel and create there avatar via living avatar but it wond display for all usergroups groups only the ones listed above. .This is great but I am not sure what is controlling this? Once they create the avatar it shows up as there current avatar in there usercp but will not shop up in any of the post/threads now public profile?

Nothing shows up in usercp or admin cp

When it says upload the living_avatars folder

Does it mean the whole folder to the root, or like the contents of includes into the includes folder thats already there???

The living_avatars folder goes in your forum root, just like it says in the example: Living Avatars doesn't show in your Admin CP, it has it's own Admin Control Panel, which you access at that same URL. Nothing will show in the User CP until you activate the Add Forum Link.

I'm wanting very badly to install this, but I have a question. Is there a way for members to have both a regular avatar and have an LA avatar below it? I really dont want them to have to choose between one or another. Please let me know if it can be done and how. Thanks!

or maybe perhaps have the LA avatar only appear in your signiture as your profile image??

I believe the Pro version you can place LA in the avatar or signature in conjunction with an avatar.

I upgraded to 3.8.4 about a month ago and forgot to reinsert the Living Avatar link. Well, I did now, but I get this error message

Warning: imagepng() [function.imagepng]: Unable to open '../avatars/la_3.png' for writing: Permission denied in /home2/forumwom/public_html/living_avatars/includes/save_avatar.php on line 181

The avatars file is already at 777, so I don't know what else I should do.

I went to your site, but can't even figure out where your forum is there. None of the links work at livingavatars.com, so don't even know how someone would go about buying up the Pro.

He's doesn't have a forum anymore. Something happened right around the time vB announced 4.0. I don't think he's planning on running a vB board anymore, as Living Avatars is designed to run on a couple of different board scripts.

la_3.png is there, right? And your sure it's the /living_avatars/avatars/ folder that CHMODed? Try reinstalling the script like you would if you were doing an upgrade, remember to double check that folder's permissions when you do.

Great, but I don't want to have to reinstall all of the packs I've added to it. Maybe it just isnt' upgraded for 3.8.4? Yes, the avatars folder is 777 and has always worked fine before.

If I have to start over from scratch, I don't think I'll waste the time. My members don't seem to be all that into it anyways.

Just because it's for many forums doesn't mean they should just not have a forum. Was 4.0 a bust or what? If I go to their site now, there doesn't even seem to be a way to upgrade.

Upgrading, and in this case, re-installing, is not the same as starting from scratch. Just like an upgrade, overwrite your files, and run the install scripts again. Don't uninstall, just proceed like you would for an upgrade.

Anyone else using this with 3.8.4? It saves the avatar, but looks like the forum won't allow it to change the current avatar.

Well, for some reason, once I deleted the old la_3.png file everything seems to work fine now. I don't know why, but for some reason, the old la_3.png and the other old la files, wouldn't allow themselves to be overwritten.

Ok, so I installed LA on an account that was deleted, I deleted this account, and now I can't get to the ACP of LA. How can I uninstall and reinstall this?

Yikes! That's a good question. You might need to look around and see how you can manually restore a user account through SQL, otherwise I don't see you getting in any other way.

I got it worked out, luckly for me I did not have the link activated in my avatars :)

Firstly can i say what a great mod you have here. I have installed this fine, bought my things like t-shirt glass's etc. But when it come to putting it together and clicking on save avatar, im getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ImageCreateTrueColor() in /home/proudbab/public_html/living_avatars/includes/save_avatar.php on line 70

Why is this happening?

Usually that means there's a missing file.

When the member deleted his/her living avatar, there are still display!

Can someone contact with the coder and take permissions to upgrade this nice mod to vb4 please? There are 571 installs and more than thousand downloads which means that the mod is interesting and and famous :o

Not sure about this but after installing LA I think the avatars link changed from:
forum.domain/avatars/some.avatar.gif to
forum.domain/avatars/some.avatar.gif?dateline=1271965598
And after uninstalling LA the avatar link still remained the same. What can I do in order to have the default link again?

This product broke my website, I had to reinstall many things again.

I got a few queries:

1. the points system which u have mentioned, does it come with the add-on or it uses other add-ons points as well ?
2. do I need to update posts count db to reflect points for all users ?
3. what are the products currently available ? I mean only 2 avatars or many others as well ?
