Hello!! Great Hack!!

A Little Bug I Found: When Creating a New Sell, the "Description" is being Cut to No More Than 5 Lines, and Perhaps a Determinate Number of Characters. :(

I created an Auction, with Great Formatted Text in It, with IMG Tags Included, and when I Previewed it, it Only Had 5 Lines, so I lost My Effort in Creating a Long Description. :(

Also this Hack Don't Allows Edits of the Sells (Auctions), so I wasn't Able to Change the Description. You Should Leave an Option for Us Owners of the Forum to Edit the Sells and also an Option to Allow or Not Allow (We Should be Able to Decide) the Edits of the Sells (Auctions) by the Persons Who Created them. I'd choose to be Able to Edit My Auctions, not to have to Delete Them and Create New Ones in case of an Error Like the Trim of the Description I previously described. :(

One more thing: In the Closed Auctions option, you should add a Column or Include in the Link of the Name of the Category the Number of Closed Auctions; when I first visited that Link I thought that NO Auctions where Saved when Closed, so is Good for the Users to Know How Many Auctions are in Each Category, like in Home VBay where You Display the Number of Curren Opened Auctions. :(

My Best Regards. Great Hack. I Hope You Make the Adjustments I've Told You in this Message to Make Your hack More Flexible, and Allow Us To Decide How We'd Like To Use it. ;)

:)

Blaine0002 10-13-2007 02:11 PM

Thanks for the information..

in version 1.1.5 you should be able to go into My Vbay, click on My Auctions and then click on edit to edit the auction.

The description bug you mentioned is odd. ill look into it.

powerful_rogue 10-13-2007 05:03 PM

Hi, Im looking to convert from SR CLassfieds Lite to this as I notice it also has a BIN feature :)

Does anyone know of a CMPS module so I can display a random auction?

Remember to revert your templates :)

Hengest 10-13-2007 05:27 PM

Finally installed! Many thanks for this and all the work you have put into it.

DieselMinded 10-13-2007 06:28 PM

I Didnt have no templates to revert other than the nav bar

towermatt 10-13-2007 08:32 PM

Upgrade went fine, the thing looks great.

I am wondering if there is a way to change the imbedded nav bar link on the for forumdisplay.

Its the only thing I can't figure out how to change to DTbay. :D

Blaine0002 10-13-2007 09:00 PM

there should be a phrase called something like vbay_navbar_vbay

or something

towermatt 10-13-2007 09:54 PM

Hmmm...looks like I found all of those and changed them.

vbay_ navbar
vbay_ navbar_ home
vbay_ navbar_ myvbay

Its not a huge deal though, just the icing on the cake. My forum is called Palaver so it links back to that on the home page but it marks its own link (indented up there) as Vbay.

hyproVision 10-13-2007 11:09 PM

Hey Blaine, would like to say you've got a great hack going here!

I've seemed to run into a problem though :( I get a "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /vbay.php on line 205" error on the sell page. Any word of advice?

Thanks.

Blaine0002 10-14-2007 12:02 AM

odd... what version of php are you using?

its working for me and everyone else o.o

pscyhosis 10-14-2007 04:17 AM

I have the same error msg.
Please help.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /vbay.php on line 205

Blootix 10-14-2007 08:02 AM

Blaine0002 10-14-2007 01:04 PM

goblues 10-14-2007 02:43 PM

Robp57 10-15-2007 01:31 PM

I have the Vbay all setup and everything seems fine in the ACP.......
But one problem........I have no link in my navbar.........
How do I get the link in there........
You say revert templates...This just removes the Vbay ........
How do I get the navbar link up and functioning

You need to enter contact details in the text box above the bid button. Some people on my forum had the same problem and assumed that they did not need to enter anything because their address was showing up in My Vbay.

Hengest 10-17-2007 05:49 PM

Why is it that the "high bid" and "lowest you may bid" are the same? Surely the lowest you may bid should be higher than the current highest bid??

Quote:

The High Bid Is: $25.00
The Lowest You May Bid Is: $25

Blaine0002 10-17-2007 05:53 PM

The user probably entered 0 as a bid increment,

Thanks for pointing that out, ill need to make it so the bid increment is at least 1.

Thanks, now it works. :D

but, Blaine0002 could that be changed. If you bid more than once on the same item, you need to enter the contact information every time you bid.

towermatt 10-17-2007 07:29 PM

I just put a smiley face in it. Our members know the contact for the transactions completion can be done through PM or similar methods.

But it would be great if it didn't ask for it.

StreetTriple 10-17-2007 07:33 PM

hi Blain! can you insert all phrases for change? i want translate ALL word !

I agree, perhaps the option to give alternative contact details if required.

Blaine0002 10-17-2007 09:34 PM

Ill work on that :D

acorndomains.co 10-18-2007 11:36 AM

Did anyone find ways to do the following:

Show a list of ending soon auctions
Show a list of recently added auctions
Remove the need to post your address
Allow more than 1 currency
Allow more than 1 payment method
Take a slice of the action by having a percentage of all sales sent to your PayPal account

It's on my site here:
www.acorndomains.co.uk/vbay.php

Many thanks

Got this error now:

Database error in vBulletin 3.6.8:

Invalid SQL:

Blaine0002 10-18-2007 03:06 PM

you probably reinstalled it.

you will need to go into the phpmyadmin and delete all tables that have the prefix vbay_ and go into the user table and delete the row vbayaddress

If you do not want to loose information tell me and ill find out another way to do it.
