check usergroup permissions

go to admincp>usergroups>click edit on which group you want administrators/moderators/etc>scrolll down until you see vbpager permissions

well there is problem no.1....lol....I have no option for vpager in the usergroup permissions:surprised:

Ok I can't figure this one out, i've installed it ok, made the necessary template adjustments, enabled it, made the changes to the admin usergroup, but none of the options on the forum show up

I'm sure this has been mentioned before somewhere, but I have a request for a future release, which is the ability for Administrators to read PM's to help limit abuse.

I have a similar problem. I have installed this on two forums hosted by different companies. They all worked fine, but now all the options on the foums and anything to do with vbPager have gone.

The usergroup settings are there however. Even the text on the navbar bit has gone.

Nothing has been altered with the templates as far as I know.

I keep getting these in my mysql slow query log. For some reason it is hitting my server hard, causing mysqld to spike the cpu for a few minutes at a time, and causing my server to become unresponsive.

I've had to disable the pager because of this, and my members are not happy about it. That isn't your problem, of course :p I was just hoping you could give me an idea of why it is doing this.

installed the hack, but now where the new menu should be for vB Pager in the admincp its just blank no text but you can see something should be there as theres a box there, any ideas?

Any idea to change the format of the date in window of vB Pager?

I've tracked this problem down the the hourly cleanup plugin part of the product. Is there a more server friendly way to do this?

So have you had a chance to look into this yet? Just curious as i have user's that are getting this error...


Also, what the heck is causing this? I open up the pager now and there is no message at all. I click on the It show's nothing "Showing results 1 to 0 of 0"......Do you think that maybe the cron is cleaning out the message's on the 24hr basis, but not able to delete the forum home display ?

When my users recieve Pager messages..they show up at the bottom of the forum page?? Can anyone help???

This update was just pushed out recently via Windows Automatic updates. Now, all my IE user's are experiencing this popup window with every recieved message.

Has anyone found a way to fix this?

I thought I installed wrong.. however...^^^^^ the update by windows causes this problem for me too.. hopefully this can be fixed or updated...

Just installed this great hack on my other site that runs vbportal. My question is how can I have "Pager Messages: Unread 0, Total 0." display under my membername.

This will show when in VB but not in VBPortal...

I added a couple of my own modifications too. :)

I created a new phrase called $vbphrase['pager_anon']; to replace $vbphrase['n_a']; in pager.php. This means that an anonymous message now comes from "Staff Member" rather than just N/A ... I'll only use this feature for giving out warnings to naughty members. ;)

In the navbar link I added <if condition="$vboptions['vbpager_active'] AND $bbuserinfo['userid'] AND $show['pager']"> in order to hide the buddy list if the pager is disabled. (I think I did this right)

In memberinfo I added AND $show['pager'] to the conditional for the same reasons ..

Therefore when a member cannot use it, it becomes a case of "out of site, out of mind"

I am currently testing this pager system with my staff and came across an annoying problem. When I receive a page and get a pop-up if in viewing the members on-line page and when it refreshed I loose my vbpager popup or if I click on the screen behind the vbpager popup I loose the vbpager screen. How can I prevent this from happening?

Can you explain in more details how you added the conditions as I am not a coder and would like to do the same...

First of all good work. This Messanger really fits in most of our needs.

There are 2 Problems:

1. If a user isnt active for some mins, the vB Pager popups with a Loginwindow. This is due to the vBulletin board recognize the User as "Offline". The vB Pager Login Popup is a big problem! First of all it appears in Transparent over the whole page. The Bottom font lays on some other Text -> ugly. Second one is that there shouldnt be any Popup.

Is there a way to stop the vB Pager from refresh if the User is set to offline ?
Offline = no need for vB Pager = no ugly and useless popup.

2. There is no Message for the User that his send Message was send. It only returns to the vB User Page. At all theres no Info about succesfully send the Message. This gets really wired to some Users, also for me.

I would be very pleased to get a Sollution for this 2 Problems.

Any chance we can cut the cron job from once an hour to once a day?

I love this hack and have installed it on my forums. I only have 2 questions regarding this hack:

1.) When you click 'Send Page to User' a window pops up, but the scroll bars appear to scroll and resize the window. How can I make it so there is already a set window size?

2.) Users have asked that the messages stay displayed that they send receive. What I mean by this is:
>Sender1: MESSAGE 1
<Receiver 2: MESSAGE 2
>Sender1: MESSAGE 3
<Receiver 4: MESSAGE 4

I would like the users messages to be saved for up to 4 sends of text, or whatever can work. Is this possible as my users hate to see the windows close and not see what they typed to who?

This is exacly what im looking for.... Will this only show the links to vbpager to the gorups who have access to it via usergroups? Also can you explain un more details how the code should look as I dont understand what you mean by wrap this between ( ) and where to place it?? Sorry
