I tried inserting $forumjump under $navbar but it does not do anything.

Any ideas?

Scott it would need to be evaled, plus youd need to do abit of work to the forumjump template to make it work correctly ;D

forumjump is a worthless ammount of bandwith

I want now to set up the forum so that everyone has to go through the portal. The portal sits at http://legionsofloki.com/adv_index.php. If someone were to go to http://legionsofloki.com/Forum they get to the forum main page. Is it possible for that link to resolve down to the adv_index to make them use the portal?

VB3.0 allows you to change the name of index.php page of the forum. Try re-naming it to forum.php and change the setting in the Admincp to reflect that change. Then create a blank index.php page in the /forum directory and re-direct that to http://yourdomain.com/ via Cpanel or whatever.

Hell, that's the only way I know to do it, but I'm sure there's tons of ways like .htaccess.

The new version of Vbadvanced uses VB's $navbar. I just copied my forums $header into my index_header template for the header.

how do i find out my chdir?

kneesparx 01-10-2004 07:36 PM

Create a file called info.php with the following content:

<? phpinfo(); ?>
Then upload that file to your server and go to it in your browser. You will see a list of options that were set by your host. One of them is called:

_SERVER["PATH_TRANSLATED"]

Copy that path, paste it over what you currently have for your path in the adv_index.php file, and reupload your adv_index.php file.
