I'm not sure if you're trying to do this, but I'll post anyways. It is not possible to map more than one calendar or forum to the other or vice versa. For example, two calendars to one forum won't work, and two forums to one calendar won't work. Everything must be a 1:1 relation.

I'm about to revert my forum 2months back to 3.8.. I never realized it but my entire forum is based around these event forums working. I have lost over 50% of my active users during this period.

To anyone running more than 1 calendar on your site, DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD UNTIL IT ACTUALLY WORKS.

There is one answer!!!

I also asked if someone would try to use default vbulletin with more then one calendar to see if that works with out this mod. But no one even did that. Why should I work on a mod when it works fine for me and no one wants to help with the issue. I do all the work for free and go out of my way for what reason? Someone can test what I asked I do not have the time to install another copy of vbulletin and do all the testing.

Fair enough, but you might want to remove the "Supported" flag, or at the very least, post something in the first post to let people know.

To be fair, you can't really blame the mod creator for this. If he didn't even try to port this to 4.0, would you have even upgraded to 4.0?

The mods here, even when supported, should be thoroughly tested on a test site before deployment into a production environment. There are all sorts of quirks on even the best mods, and a test environment is the only place where you can evaluate how this will affect your site. My users sometimes complain because I'm slow to add new features. But they never get mad about something breaking or not working.

It does state that this mod is in Beta stage. IMHO, a Beta mod should never be installed on a Live board, unless you are absolutely sure that you have tested it thoroughly in a testing environment.

It is supported why should I remove it. If I remove the supported tag it will never be upgraded. I am willing to upgrade it as soon as I find the problem. How ever I can not find the issue. My site only runs on one calendar so it runs perfect for me. How ever I am willing to fix the issue with multiple calendars. I just need to find and fix the error. Which I can not find at this current point. I know what the error is and what is causing it just can't find a proper fix which does not cause more errors.

It also says beta which means it may not work fully to your expectations and it may have bugs. Let alone its hard to work on things for vb4 since they keep making changes. I expect more issues with further upgrades of vb4. That is another reason I am not rushing to fix all my mods all these patches and vb4 versions it always breaks things.

I installed this a couple of days ago on my test site (only one calendar tested) and it seemed to work fine, but when I installed it on my live site I found these problems:

1 - My usergroup 'registered users', who require their events to be moderated, get a database error when trying to post an event - oddly a thread appears awaiting moderation, but no event appears in the calendar.

I know this has been mentioned, but I don?t remember seeing an answer.

2 - My un-moderated usergroup 'Event organisers' can no longer edit their posted events, despite the permissions being set correctly - only admin/mods can.

It looks like utahraves has found a work around for this....

I had to rewrite the style to allow the edit button to show up for EVERY user just so they can edit their own calendar events.

.... any chance to explaining how this is done for a newbie like me?

3 - It only works for the first calendar/forum set-up, but doesn't work for any others added it just hangs when you try to post, before returning a totally blank white page.

I have 9 different event calendars and I tried various combinations, always only trying to hook-up one calendar to one forum, but only the first one in the list works.

I am new to all this, before I installed vb4.02 about four weeks ago, I had only ever had a basic vb3 site, whereas I?ve gone hack and mod happy the last few weeks as well as learning a bit about vb4 & CMS, i.e. no web-build or coding experience at all!

Now I?ve switched to a totally new default vb style, and disabled all products, which is what I assume you mean here or is there anything more I would need to do?

However, the three above problems are still there. :(

I have at least one or two of your other mods installed and I am very grateful to you for sharing them, but this would be the icing on the cake for the type of site I am developing, so let me know if there's anything I could do to help, although bear in mind I haven't much of a clue of what I am doing.

What I can promise is if you can solve these problems, I would be happy to donate towards a few drinks on me. :)

When installing on a test site, try to have the test site as closely mirror your live site as possible--usergroups, permissions, etc. This way you can fully test on the test site and run into problems there versus your live one.

I remember this on the original mod. I had to disable all moderation for threads or calendar events. There was no way for me to get around that.

Check permissions on both your calendars and threads. Because there are two different permissions being checked, this is one of the issues you can run across.

If this workaround is the only thing needed to make it work, then it's a simple style issue where the button isn't being shown based on permissions. You'd have to edit the style sheet, which is just html, to show the button to your group. You'll have to figure out some html coding for this, but it's not too hard. A lot of times, something else in the style sheet can be 'borrowed' and changed to suit what you need.

Check out the vb documentation on Style Manager to learn how to edit the individual templates.

You've gotten lucky up to this point. Changing the default vb with mods is great, but you almost certainly will run into an issue at some point. But that being said, once you learn about the innerds of vb, you may even be bold enough to make your own mods. :)
