When I try the quicklinks menu, it shows this:
(which is a broken link) |
Wow excellent mod, really one of the best banners mod that I installed, thank you so much.
thumbs up!! |
I've just read through all 13 pages of this mod's thread and not once do I see Cybernetec respond to the onslaught of questions pertaining to the screen flickering or jumping issue. I'm having this problem and would like to see an answer here, as would all the others who keep asking for the answer....
|
Seriously, can you please support your mod and bring an answer to the table?
|
Uninstalled. No support to be received for this mod obviously.
|
patience

Well I do see great support for this Mod the problem mainly is with the installer not the Coder.. How many Coders do you know that actually offer to logg into your site to fix your issues..Humm. Waiting a few weeks for an answer is normal you have only waited what three days,..Man you have issues.. |
I see we have a few members having a little difficulty with the loading of this great Mod..
First of all I need to say that the following worked for me on my site. If you follow step by step it should work for you too..:) Good luck.. Step 1: Download the Zip. Unzip to a New folder and call it "FTP upload" or what ever folder name you like.....Now that wasn't too hard....:) Step 2: As per instructions in the read me file.. Installation: 1. Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product] 2. OPTIONAL: Open desired template and add "$cyb_flashimagebanners" where you wish banners to appear 3. OPTIONAL (if link to manage banners page is not shown in Quick links menu): Open navbar template and add "$insert_cybfibr" after "$vbphrase[miscellaneous]</td></tr>" 2. OPTIONAL: Open desired template and add "$cyb_flashimagebanners" where you wish banners to appear I put this in my navbar template so that it shows just above my log in info....See here http://fdgamers.net.au/forum/gamers.php Then Click on Forums.. Now this is where you can make it all go wrong.... 3. OPTIONAL (if link to manage banners page is not shown in Quick links menu): Open navbar template and add "$insert_cybfibr" after "$vbphrase[miscellaneous]</td></tr>" Some templates don't have a button in the navbar called "Quick Links"..Instead it might be "MENU"... First check if Manage Banners is present in the "menu" If it is then DON'T DO OPTION 3..............Keeping up....:) So Now to Super Admin and what this means.. As per instructions in the read me file it states...Only SuperAdmins can access Banner Management page.... Before we go any further we need to be sure that you are set as a super admin in the config.php file.... You will need an FTP client of your choice and the log in details to access your server. The config.php file is generally found in the following directory -- public.html ---then--- forum ---then--- includes ---- upload config.php to your FTP upload folder on your PC..Open it in Note Pad.....scroll down until you find the line super admins.. As in example. // ****** SUPER ADMINISTRATORS ****** // The users specified below will have permission to access the administrator permissions // page, which controls the permissions of other administrators $config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = '5'; Jump back into ADMINCP on your site and find your username...The ID is what number you are....Put this number where I have the number "5"above..in between the ' ' Now save this..( Save only ) Go back to your FTP and upload the config.php back to its origin...as above..it will ask you for an over write just click yes.. Now you have been set as a super admin.... To set options: Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - Flash-Image Banner Rotator In this area you will be able to set quite a few variables..Just have a play you shouldn't break anything here..:) Last but not least we need somewhere to put our banners or images.... Back to FTP....(Short for File transfer protocol...) In your forums root..(again this should be either public.html..or public.html/forums/) I need you to create a directory...To do this you need to see all the directory's or folders in the FTP on the remote side..(Found on the right panel..) Right click anywhere in the remote window....Create a directory and call it cyb_banners ... Still awake.....:) As long as we haven't missed anything you should be ready to jump in and load a few banners...So lets do it....For this exercise we will call it image1.jpg Log into your www.yoursite.com.au ( your home page ) ( I'm sure you weren't about to log into a page called your site now were you.) .:) Go to Quick links or MENU then Manage Banners.... You now should see a page where you can manage your banners... Nearly finished....:p This part can be a little confusing.... Under "TYPE" You have a choice of either Image or Flash..For this exercise we will be using Image... Next Is "Site Title" Basically a description of you banner... Next is "Clicks" Information of how many times its been clicked on.... Now "Site URL" This is for where the banner will take you..(The Banners web site not yours..) Next is "Banner" In the greyed out area you should see "cyb_banners/" if you dont then turn on your monitor..:) Back to the grind... Remember that folder you created in FTP.....??Called cyb_banners and you uploaded an image called image1.jpg to cyb_banners folder.. Put image1.jpg after cyb_banners/..Should look like this...............cyb_banners/image1.jpg If you have multiple banners then name them for example image1.jpg ...image2.jpg..and so on.. The "duration" is seconds that it will show on your site... Display order is what it is.... Make sure Active is ticked then click on "GO" Wola...You have done it......Pat your self on the back and go make a coffee....:) As long as you have placed the code $cyb_flashimagebanners in your template some where then you should see the banner... For additional banners just repeat the steps As above... Good luck and thank you Cybernetec for your great work.....I hope this helps....:) |
