That will be great. I will install it then....

MrSDavidson 11-04-2005 09:58 AM

Update, I can get it to work bar a few things (I think I really need someone who knows PHP to write a small script cause the way Im doing it now isnt the best)
1. You can update it if you are logged in with the remember me setting checked otherwise it will log you out
2. You'll probably not be wanting to hack your php files (dont think copying one of vB's, renaming it and then hacking it is alowed, if it is Please let me know) else I'll need someone to help code up a new one.

Rickie3 11-04-2005 10:29 AM

i cant see why people are having troubles getting this to work,i followed the instructions and took all but 2 mins to install and get to work, but i did make 1 mistake and that was not entering the correct field, once i realised all was good

MrSDavidson 11-04-2005 10:06 PM

Perhaps you didnt read some of the posts properly, we'd really like a way to change and save the settings Without messing about in the User CP, and the good news Is im nearly there with that part of the code.

Suggestion:

The user has the option to update his/her mode from the postbit itself, e.g. on vb.org under style you would have a dropdown menu with all the moods and using AJAX you would update it instantly? good idea no?

lefthome: thanks for the cool little mod.

Please can everyone take a nice deep breath? Exhale. I know it could be frustrating when you want to install a hack and it doesn't work, but it's important to be patient during the debugging process. It's works out for both the author of the hack and the users installing. :)

funinthesun 11-07-2005 05:54 PM

I would also like to see this hack updated so that you can change the mood more often. All my members have just stuck to the same mood constantly now hehe. :)

lefthome 11-08-2005 02:35 PM

Sorry, but I was away due to Hurricane Wilma. If somebody doesn?t fix the hack so it can be changed from the member?s postbit, I will update this as two versions by Monday, November 14, 2005.

I will also uploaded another version of the hack with additional moods and this time create a windows zip file since some members claim they need a password to open the file that I created using; WinRAR

MrSDavidson 11-09-2005 01:18 PM

I have the mood change placed above the navbar, looks better there IMHO and more noticable, and im still waiting on an answer to if I can use a copy of the profile.php file so it can be done? (small mod in there and it means you dont have to edit your php file)

I currently have mood hack installed and running.. however, i also want to add the change mood dropdown box in another location at CMPS welcomebox (underneath the avatar), this way it'll be more visible for change and visibility. Can someone help write the code that will bring it from it's edit options location to the CMPS WelcomeBox location ....

Where can I learn to code so that I might be able to do this?

-=Sniper=- 12-02-2005 01:46 PM

I know it won't be possible to have moods in the postbit because you would have form tags in side each other which can'r be done. Or if someone knows a trick.

I have managed to place it in my navbar where private message part is, if interested I will release it as a addon during the weekend.

Yes, that's great! Thank you :)

-=Sniper=- 12-04-2005 10:04 PM

I will have it ready for release after uni on moday uk time. Around 6pm I'd say.

-=Sniper=- 12-05-2005 03:46 PM

quick mood changer https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=840983

lefthome 12-07-2005 11:20 PM

Sniper: nice add-on! And, if you are okay with it, I will link from the main post to your addition.

I?m sorry, but I have been very busy of late. I have one of our members cleaning up and adding an assortment of new moods right now and he tells me they will be done sometime on Friday. I will, I promise, get this update done by the weekend.

VERY MUCH looking forward to your update. Thanks! I will be back on Friday for sure

lefthome 12-10-2005 06:11 PM

Due to time constraints, I have not found the time to write a new template so the moods can be changed directly from the members ID section, but I expect to have that done ?as a template modification? shortly so it should work in 3.5 and 3.51 equally.

Rickie3 12-10-2005 10:34 PM

I am in the process of creating new moods, so please describe what you have in mind better and I will see. In fact, if anyone would like something special, let me know and I will see if I can create it!
