Yep :) .zip updated.

I got this errors when I installed it (uninstalled old one because it didn't want to overwrite):
Code:

Warning: array_intersect() [function.array-intersect]: Argument #1 is not an array in /includes/class_postbit.php(279) : eval()'d code on line 100

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in /includes/class_postbit.php(279) : eval()'d code on line 99

Warning: array_intersect() [function.array-intersect]: Argument #1 is not an array in /includes/class_postbit.php
And so on

This pops up when you view a topic as guest with the options on removing the sig for guests/spiders.

jward 11-12-2005 03:13 PM

@Yorixz:

We'll check into this ASAP.

This issue has been fixed, please re-download the .zip file. Thank-you for reporting :)

dn lodge 11-12-2005 10:32 PM

It would be better if you could make any links in your post text rel="nofollow" also

jward 11-13-2005 02:30 AM

@dn_lodge:

This particular hack focuses on post signatures only. However, I will speak to the team to see what they think.

aacircle 11-13-2005 03:03 AM

Great! Installed with ease.

So what is everyone doing with this hack? What is the Minimum Post Length everyone is using. Do you use rel=nofollow or just remove the signature if below the threshold?

I remove the signature if keyword count is less then 40.

jward 11-13-2005 09:28 AM

@mycolumbus:

My recommendation would be to remove the signature for posts under the minimum word count (40 seems reasonable), especially with the new feature allowing the removal only for guests and search engine crawlers.

Also, with the new guest only removal feature, you might consider setting the minimum post length even higher to further minimize density reduction of topic related keywords.

Yorixz 11-13-2005 01:45 PM

@jward, thanks, the plugin works like a champ now.

jward 11-13-2005 03:52 PM

For those of you who have installed this mod to improve search engine optimization for your forum, we also recommend that you install our sitemap generator which was recently released here at vb.org:

vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator for vBulletin 3.5.x (Plugin) & vBulletin 3.0.x
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=817677

sportsoutlaw 11-13-2005 03:56 PM

iojam 11-23-2005 08:28 AM

Loco Macheen,

copyright for "vBSEO Conditional Signatures for vBulletin 3.5.x"? It's in the README (release notes in the first message of this thread) :)

trancetopia 11-23-2005 09:11 AM

This is awesome just as vBSEO is!! My adsense after the 1st post has never been such content related before this was installed.

Many thanks!!

dinodonk 11-27-2005 12:50 AM

Do not understand..
why do not just disable sig for unregistered user so SE can not see sig??

Thanks

Search engines always view the forum as unregistered users. You can simply disable signatures (if you so choose). However, signatures provide a benefit to members who contribute to the website. They contribute to discussions and help you build content. In return they are rewarded with valuable link backs to their websites.

This plugin helps to ensure that members demonstrate more responsible posting habits before they get the benefit of signature exposure and linkbacks.

buro9 11-29-2005 08:36 AM

Starting to really love this vbSEO stuff.

This is a fantastic hack... though I feel a few of my members might be peeved at my stripping signatures from short posts.

saukwebsolution 12-10-2005 03:40 PM

great work! thanks

A new version 1.3 of vBSEO Conditional Signatures has been released.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=97685

Changelog:
12/10/2005 - Version 1.3 Released
(1) UPDATE: UserIDs/GroupIDs in options can be separated now either with spaces or commas (formerly commas only)
(2) NEW FEATURE: Limit the number of signatures per user/per page

Dean C 12-11-2005 06:35 AM

I have a question about your modification.

Quote:

Cleanup HTML code by removing unnecessary whitespace and comment tags from the output. This boosts your C2C ratio (Content to Code) and reduces the size of all vB forum and thread pages resulting in lower bandwidth requirements, faster downloads, and fast page display for your forum members and visitors.
This is just nonsense. What evidence do you have to back this up as having any relevance to search engines? I have not even heard of the term Content-to-code ratio in the SEO world, in the year I have been working in the field.

dieselpowered 12-11-2005 07:18 AM

I havd a question...this thread shows mod version 1.3, however, I updated earlier today and it shows 1.4 in my admincp??

Agreed biggest non truthful thing i have heard all year

The code with incorrect version tag was temporarily uploaded during last update and then replaced with correct version.
If you have downloaded it, please uninstall previous version first and then install the recent one (1.3).

Dean C, HaRR0

I guess that you missed the thread by posting this here. Please find a corresponding place for your questions and let's stick to vBSEO Conditional Signatures in this thread.

I am sorry, I am a moron, I was in the wrong thread...your sitemap generator is on version 1.4 (now 1.5) not this one.

Glad I said something, I see there is an update so I will upgrade.

Thanks, sorry for the mistake :)

iojam 12-11-2005 04:53 PM

xtremeoff-road,

ah, ok. No problem, I'm glad it is sorted out now :)

Greatest hacks i have ever installed come from vbseo. Looks like some people think they know more than they really do.

jdingman 12-22-2005 01:48 AM

Good Product, I installed it and it worked like a charm, thanks!

XtremeOffroad 12-25-2005 01:29 AM

This sounds Great, Clicks Install.

AquilaEagle 12-25-2005 12:36 PM

Hi this sounded great so I have installed. I wanted to use it to limit users to one signature line per page - so I set it to 1 but it is still displaying their sigs more than once a page - in fact on every post - any help? :)

iojam 12-25-2005 03:17 PM

Aquil?agle,

the "signatures per page" limitation is not applied for users that belongs to "Excluded Users (IDs)" and "Excluded User Groups (IDs)".
Please check if this is the case. :)

AquilaEagle 12-25-2005 08:50 PM

Hi, yes I checked that, I don't have any excluded.

iojam 12-25-2005 08:57 PM

Please PM me an example URL and the link to screenshot with your options for vBSEO Conditional Signatures :)

AquilaEagle 12-25-2005 09:57 PM

Here is example URL:
http://www.th0ng.org/forums/showthread.php?t=70

The screenshot is on that thread too

iojam 12-25-2005 10:24 PM

Aquil?agle,

you have "Signature Action" option set to "Add rel=nofollow" - it means that the hack will modify all links included in the signatures, but will not remove signatures from the posts. You have to select another option ("Remove signatures") for this. :)

AquilaEagle 12-25-2005 10:26 PM

OK thanks, I have done that, and it has removed signature from EVERY post, but I want it to leave the sig on the 1st post on each page :)

AquilaEagle 12-25-2005 10:28 PM

AH!! fixed it - I had it set for posts 10+ words long :)

Thanks for your help, it is doing just what i want now :D

Philipp G?rard 12-26-2005 10:55 AM

I get the following errors for each posting in a thread once I activate your mod:
Code:

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in /includes/class_postbit.php(279) : eval()'d code (Line 43)

Warning: array_intersect() [function.array-intersect]: Argument #1 is not an array in /includes/class_postbit.php(279) : eval()'d code (Line 44)
