nice one, clicked install!

Could someone check if the status icons are correct?

Some of mine seem to be the same for (inside a forum) new thread and hot new thread.

There are some other ones the same as well - or is it just me?

Ones red, the others blue! - looks ok to me!

For a new thread I have a blue icon - which is fine
thread_new.gif

And for a thread where I have posted I also get a blue icon, even if it is not new
thread_dot_hot.gif

A hot thread is green - which is fine
thread_hot.gif

b6gm6n 10-10-2005 08:41 PM

I'd simply copy ' thread_dot_hot_new.gif ' and rename it as ' thread_dot_hot.gif '

Post Icons...hmmm Very nice option to turn off in vBulletin :)

very sweet skin, thank you!

Hello B6gm6n!

Awesome style! How can we replace the default 'I-Bulletin' logo with our own company logo?

I made the change under 'Image Paths >> Title Image' but it doesn't reflect the change?

Thanks!

Joe

Use photoshop, edit the text or font, save for the web as : header_outp_II_01.gif

mysite.com/forums/images/ibulletin/misc/header_outp_II_01.gif

Hello B6gm6n!

I noticed that you have the calls for the header_outp_II_01.gif & header_outp_II_02.gif under the section 'Common Templates'.

I tried replacing both logos with ours (In the common templates section) and it ended up sizing the correct way, but it was being repeated across the top of the forums page.

I then tried just substituting 'header_outp_II_01.gif' and it stretched it by like 4X, then next to it was the running bar.

Is there a simple way, of just taking those two gifs out of the picture and replacing it with our small logo?

Thanks again amigo!

Joe

Just redesign the header and add your new code in the header template re-placing the default!

Wow great style thanks!!

biggjoe 10-15-2005 10:26 PM

Hey b6!

Thanks for the quick response!

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I'm new to the world of forums and have no coding experience. Sounds easy enough though, I'll let you know how it goes.

One last question, I'm not familiar with how licensing agreements for 'Styles' work, but are we allowed to remove the 'I-Bulletin Copyright Tag' on your Style?

Just want to make sure that it's ok and that nothing will 'nuke' my install should I do it.

Thanks again amigo...kick-ass style!

Joe

Romeos Tune 10-15-2005 10:36 PM

Has anyone tried to edit the psd's? I am getting an error message on all of them in PhotoShop that tells me I don't have enough RAM??

caimakale 10-15-2005 11:32 PM

I edited them just fine.

Romeos Tune 10-15-2005 11:34 PM

Strange..... Thinkin' something is wrong with my photoshop. I mean I only have 2 gig of ram so that's not the problem.... lol

Now I am not 100% sure on this particular style, but most people won't allow you to remove credit from their skins if you download a free version. Some skin makers will allow you to do this for a small fee, but I am not sure about this particular skin.

caimakale 10-15-2005 11:45 PM

I want to know if anyone else who has installed this has done a test to see if its xhtml & css compliant.

I did the test myself and there were only a few errors. It started with around 9 different errors. In the footer I changed all instances of:
Code:

<br>
to
Code:

<br />
and now I only have 6 left, but I am not sure how to fix them.

I will post any other fixes I find and would appreciate the same in return.

I added a few <br> tags, thats it, if the style crashes let me know, other than that i'll leave the anal stuff to who ever wants to know about it.

I would prefer if my x7x7x7 url was left in there, but for a fee it can be removed, PM me if interested

biggjoe 10-16-2005 04:20 AM

Hey B6;

I went ahead and just copied/pasted the 'header' for the 'default style' in vB and then simply added my 'logo' under 'Title Image'.

All looks great except for one minor thing:

The logo is a bit too far to the left. Like if you look at this screenshot:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...chmentid=34954

...the letter 'I' in the 'I-Bulletin' logo is nice and flush almost, to the square border of the forums.

What can I insert into the code, so it moves the new logo slightly to the right?

Other than that, all looks very good!

Thanks!

Joe

I would make your new header table centered with a width of around 95%

-b6

biggjoe 10-16-2005 09:50 PM

Hey B6!

Thanks so much for the tip, it made a huge difference! I've attached a jpeg to try to show exactly what I need to do now, to see if you have any ideas.

The first choice is, if there is an easy way, to put more 'white space' between the actual logo and the table border itself?

The second is, if there is a way I can actually move the logo slightly more to the right, so that it lines up flushed with the actual table border?

Any suggestions? Anyone?

Thanks!

Joe

Add a <br /> tag under your logo, or play with tables in an html editor first, then just trial & error dude, good luck

i have installed your style today. its working like a charm!

the only question i have is if i could center the edit box for pm`s, new threads and advanced relpies somehow? or stretch it to the full size of the browserwindow? like ajax.

That would be in your stylevars section i believe "Message Area Width (pixels)" set to 'auto', or alter any value concerning forms...good luck

Check to see what the default stylevars are set to for forms and copy them over or play and test, thats what i do :)

Simple but effective!

Hey B6;

Thanks so much for all the help, the '<br />' worked perfectly! I also then added a 'margin attribute' to the title image, to shift it slightly to the right, like this:

<td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img style="margin-left: 20px;" src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
<td align="$stylevar[right]">
&nbsp;

Thanks again, your style kicks-ass!

Joe

Hello,
Greate skin, but too bright. Is there any possibility to make it darker?

Very good question! - I was thinking about adding 2 more xml files, basically altered css elements which would add some colour to the original iB, i'll try not to alter the images but simply add a basic blue style, green style and what ever else to the original distro and you can pick and choose a colour.

Keep a look out in this thread for an update.
