|
awsomeeeeeeeeee - i need to find some annoyin people :d
|
Gotta tell you ....This is just awesome!!! Works like a charm lol ;) Thanks alot .
|
this would have been great for vb 3.0
But I have not idea what I need to do to install this since vb3.5.0 is so new to me any help noobie terms: |
Version 2 Release.
This is now released as a product with no editing of the plugin required, all settings are in the vB options. See the first post for full details. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To update from version 1.50 ; 1. Delete the current plugin (in the ACP plugin manager). 2. Import the new product and edit the settings to suit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: There is no requirement to upgrade if you are happy with the v1.50 plugin as is - however, I will only support problems with the current version. :) |
ok ¿but What append if the user close the session and make a new user?
I' think is posible register the last 24h ip's + cookie, from MUsers and when a user make a new member, if the ip is in the list or he have the muser cookie, make the new user myserable. (sorry for my english) |
That would be a seperate hack.
|
Great plugin! A disable-the-logout-feauture for miserable users would be nice ... :)
|
do we have to uninstall the original version first? or does it not matter?

Updated.. Cheers Paul.!

WOW - NICE plugin :D :D :D Teasing already one annoying guy :D
|
I deleted the old plugin and uploaded the new one.
It is now showing in the plugin manager without a title and doesn't seem to be attached to a known hook. Also, I can't see any "Miserable User" options in vBulletin Options :( |
Never mind, solved it :)
|
I've been using various versions of this since vB2. Anyway, for some reason, trying to login as a miserable user results in the following error;
<!-- Database error in vBulletin 3.5.0 Release Candidate 3: Invalid SQL: SELECT text, languageid FROM phrase WHERE phrasetypeid = 1000 AND varname = 'toobusy' AND languageid IN (-1, 0, 1); MySQL Error : Lost connection to MySQL server during query Error Number : 2013 Date : Thursday, September 22nd 2005 @ 08:55:37 AM (etc) --> I have tested this with all other plugins/products disabled and the board I'm testing this on has no edited source files. This is something that only happened since I upgraded to vB 3.5. |
<i>Lost connection to MySQL server during query</i> ? - that's a mysql connection failure.
Probably worth checking that you do have the "toobusy" phrase (it's a default vb phrase). |
I just checked and I do have the toobusy phrase.
Yes, weird that isn't it? |
Is there a way to install this twice? So I could have two different user groups with different settings?
|
Not really, no.
|
Maybe if the code can be modified to accept more than 1 user group ID's...

Does the new group have to be given a specific name at all? |
Nope, the product import process should create the "Miserable Users" settings, it has no reliance on any group names. I can't think of any reason why it would not do this as the options are defined in the product, it's part of the standard functionality of the product import. Perhaps try rebuilding your languages ?
|
Sussed it out - problem was between chair and keyboard......... :o
|
Now had a chance to give it a whirl round the test site and this one rocks.
Great work Paul  |

I have an annoying member on my board who registered a new member name, but is smart enough not to post from the same location with both accounts. By day he/she uses the regular screen name from school or work, by night he/she uses the new account from home. I'd like to force him/her into posting from one location so I find out just who's the culprit. |
you can ban them using the tachy goes to coventry option

Ex: 2, 13, 7 A few people seem to she interest in this. The thing is, i have 3 user groups (New, Adv, Vet) & each group has a different color display. if I throw people from various user groups into the Miserable group, they are going notice that their user color changed. |

I just tried & it won't allow you to save it.
I entered [2, 13] and after saving, the ', 13' was truncated I also tried using a space & got the same result, so I asume the plugin code would have to be modified. |

What's happening is you're trying to insert a string into a field that is meant for an integer. The sql parsing engine will accept the 1 and the 3 but as soon as it gets to the coma, it says "Whoops!" and tosses the rest out. The only real solution to what you're trying to do methinks is to use a secondary usergroup. |

Secondary usergroup did the trick.
Thanks Paul M, maybe you can consider that for the next upgrade. |
Thanks for this, Seems more were signing up to spam then to help.
Time to have a bit of fun now. Clicks Install |

I imported it as a product and created the usergroup. It shows up in Installed products but not in VB options. What am I missing? |
Nothing, it's a standard part of product import to import the settings, are you sure they are not there ?
