Very nice! I've been wanting something like this.

it's for my own curiosity, basically. i have a few female stalkers (no kidding) and i know they come to my site and they recently moved. the apache access logs are a bit messy and i'd rather just have a list of the ips that way i can trace them all easier. if you have something like that, that can list ALL ips that come to your site maybe with some feature that'll trace it better than whois or neotrace, then i'll download it immediately. or, maybe something that will organize the ips, seperating those ips that are spiders from those that are actual visitors... that would be of help too.

Hi Abe1 nice hack!

Could you extend with a password log feature like Zaeolos did in 3.0:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=71079 :nervous:

I will see.

BTW, thanks for the link. I didn't even know this hack existed for vb3.0

It would make me avoid all boards that have work from abe1 installed.

Sorry but i really had to make this remark.

Boofo 09-25-2005 01:57 PM

Same here, I'm afraid.

What is there to be afraid of?

Oh.No I dont plan on such a feature. Sorry, I wan't paying attention much to what I was writing or reading. I dont plan ever to create a way to log users passwords.

Marco van Herwaarden 09-26-2005 04:11 AM

Phewwww. :D :D

Nice to see this was just a confusion.

Abe1 09-26-2005 04:57 AM

But come think think of it..... It sounds pritty good idea ;)

Boofo 09-26-2005 05:11 AM

Here we go again! LOL

Marco van Herwaarden 09-26-2005 07:07 AM

/me adds abe1 to his ignore list. (oops list is getting very long now)

Boofo 09-26-2005 07:25 AM

How much do I have to send you to get off the number one spot in that list? :(

akanevsky 10-06-2005 12:01 AM

Umm... Wtf. Logging password = no privacy for users. I don't think you should've done that... Because now you can be sure that I will never register on your board if you have one.

Who did that????? It does't log passwords! (And never will)

They were referring to your sarcastic post about it sounding like a good idea. I knew it was no cause for alarm, but it seems to freak everyone out around here for some reason. And most of those that say they will never visit your board if you have something like that installed would never visit it anyway. They just need something to complain about. ;)

akanevsky 10-06-2005 12:37 AM

Oh... I'm sorry.

This hack will log the userid, username, ipaddress
I read this like "userid, username, and password"... My bad lol.

Watch yourself, sir.

Tulsa 10-06-2005 02:34 AM

Works perfect Abe! Thanks. :)

Tulsa 10-06-2005 07:22 AM

Well maybe not so perfect.. ;)

I've done that hack that shows the who's logged in, to the users. Since midnight (3 hours) that is showing that 22 people have logged into my site. Currently on line are 6.

Now this log is showing only 3 entries since midnight?

Freezerator 10-06-2005 08:30 AM

Cookie login? You don't type everytime your password when you visit the site. I think it show's only when you login through login.php

Tulsa 10-06-2005 09:26 AM

That's a good idea, but it shows me twice in the log now (I only password logged in once) and a total of 7 since midnight but I've had 28 different users since midnight.

It only logs when you log in, not if you are logged in already.

Tulsa 10-06-2005 10:13 AM

We know that I had six people on at 3:22 this morning. Right now I have 12 people logged in and 36 different users since midnight. The log is currently showing only 7 since midnight and two of those are myself.

EDIT

We also know that the hour of inactivity setting to log a person out is working since it's showing me in the log twice.

I just saw 3 people log in that have not been on since yesterday and only 1 was logged.

If a user checks the box "remeber me," when he comes back to the forum he does not have to log in. You see that he is logged in since he is but he didn't log in. That is why it doesn't show them.

Tulsa 10-06-2005 10:24 AM

I understand what you're saying but see my edit above.

Your hourly logout is in the ACP. The forum it self has no automatic logout. When they came back to the forum, they were automaticly logged in already.

Tulsa 10-06-2005 04:09 PM

Thank you.

Abe1 11-06-2005 12:57 AM

Version changed to 1.0 to come out of beta.

derekivey 11-06-2005 01:20 AM

Hey Abe1,

Can you make it track AdminCP and ModCP logins too? That would be kinda of useful. Maybe even have it show if the person logged in, or typed the wrong password (for the whole forum, not just the AdminCP and ModCP).

Derek

A new session is created with each click a user makes. Do you realy want to log it all?
