There's nothing wrong with IE i find more things work with IE :rolleyes:

(The only bad thing about IE is Microsoft which in fact isnt too bad)

See those little squiggles? Those are words. They tell you which templates need reverting.

As far as I know, those are the only ones I needed to revert.

(Isn't it a pretty obvious step to assume SHOWTHREAD and postbit need reverting if a button in the postbit doesn't activate something in SHOWTHREAD?)

You will need to re-add the member info part of the postbit to the reverted one. I would advise comparing the old (un-reverted) one to the new one.

!

Go to your forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost (I think) and change the number in the conditional at the top to the forumid of your first forum.

kall 07-05-2005 08:03 AM

Due to strong public demand, here are the templates that needed reverting for 3.5 BETA 3.

Just replace your current templates with the content of these.

timelord726 07-05-2005 08:46 AM

All issues resolved! Thanks so much, Kall!

Sorry, I haven't modified postbit_legacy. You will either have to do it yourself (it's not all that hard, really) or wait for 3.5.0 gold.

*edit* and you haven't even clicked INSTALL. Sheesh.

kall 07-16-2005 09:11 AM

Updated for Beta4 - now XHTML Compliant. :D

zip attached to first post.

robertwo 07-16-2005 10:36 AM

I tried to install the updated version for beta 4 but things didn't go too well. The upload didn't seem to replace any of the images bits i.e. /images/steel/buttons and so forth in the image paths section of the style like the previous version for beta2/3 did.

I tried a different approach to merging the new style with the beta 2 version of the style and this had better results but the logo image at the top now shows a white box with rounded corners around it (Much like the actuall forum display)

It just seems to modify all that is should. :(

kall 07-16-2005 08:36 PM

My apologies..on my testing server, these are /images/ rather than /images/steel . :)

Either manually update your style var paths in AdminCP - Style Manager or download the zip again and merge it into the style. I have fixed the zip.

timelord726 07-17-2005 03:46 AM

Hi Kall, me again. I'm experiencing another problem on my site. This strange empty bar appears under my "Show Printable Version" under "Thread Tools." Any idea as to what might be causing that?

You can see it clearly in the picture I have uploaded below.

Thanks in advance for any assistance offered!

EDIT: Oh dear, another problem has cropped up! The "since forums came online" counter on the main page jumped back drastically! It was well over 350 days and now it's a mere 24 days! How can this be fixed?

kall 07-17-2005 05:47 AM

Ahh. Umm, that's probably something left over from something custom.. I don't know why it shows on the latest style tho.

That other thing, read the install.txt , it tells you where to look in the FORUMHOME temlplate.

dodgez 07-19-2005 07:39 PM

When I try to import the xml's it just sits there. Then if I check the Style or Plug-in Manager I see it in there but it doesn't work. What am I missing here? What's 'postbit'?

Please read the vBulletin Manual. You don't appear to understand the basics of style importing.

Thanks for the style, I like it, I like it alot :)

Now all I have to do is convince my mate to do a decent logo that matches the style.

Any chance we could get the .psd? I'd like to make use a different font to match my logo.

Pion 08-08-2005 11:54 PM

Love the skin and will use it when a supported vb is released. However I have it installed on my test foums on 3.5.0 RC2 and the greeting isn't intergrated with vbaCMPS. What can be done so it look the same as in forums? Thanks

Pion 08-09-2005 11:17 PM

1 More problem. It seems that the table on home forum is gone where it says "Last Post", "Forum", "Threads", and "Posts". I photoshoped it in red. Any reason why? Pic attached Thanks

Working fine here: http://www.meeting4fun.com/forum/index.php

Although on the CMPS page, it does the same as you said but not fussed about that, nice skin.

Re. your forum look problem, have you done this:

Did you click Ignore Version on the import settings?

kall 08-10-2005 08:00 AM

For those of you having problems with the greeting in your vBaCMPS, remember to add nzb_greeting and nzb_greeting2 to the area in your vBaCMPS Default Setings section in your AdminCP.

mikey86 08-17-2005 05:53 PM

this is a really nice style i like it!

Blackbeard 08-19-2005 09:05 PM

Stupid question, wanting to add my own logo to replace the vb1, how do i center my image, as it dont stretch across the full lenght at moment and want it to center link at your NZ board

please could you post want text iam looking for and where.

Pion 08-27-2005 08:35 PM

Styles and Templates >> Style Manager (for this skin) >> Edit Templates >> Edit header template. Replace the code between the <!-- logo --> tags with this code. It worked fine with centering my logo.

Code:

<a name="top"></a>
<table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td width="20" height="20" align="$stylevar[right]"><img width="20" height="20" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/page_top_left.gif" alt="" /></td>
        <td align="$stylevar[left]" width="100%" style="background: url('$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/page_top.gif') repeat-x top left;">&nbsp;</td>
        <td width="20" height="20" align="$stylevar[left]"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/page_top_right.gif" width="20" height="20" alt="" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center" class="page">
<tr>
        <td align="center"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
        <td align="$stylevar[right]">
                &nbsp;
        </td>
</tr>
</table>

Very nice, but I've found that the included plugin doesn't work on the front page of my vbadvanced modded-board. Is there a way to get those personalized greetings to display on cmps_index.php, as well?

Look at post 67 above you.

Ian Montgomerie 09-16-2005 05:46 AM

I am likely going to use a modified version of this on my board. I found the following issues/annoyances which I thought you might like feedback on:

1. The popup menus use the old VBulletin color scheme. Easily fixed in the css.

2. The PM inbox uses the old style buttons. I copied over the new thread buttons instead.

3. Two buttons are lacking (forcing the board to not use them, or to use the inconsistent default buttons). First, there's no button for moved post/forwarded PM. Second, there's no button for a "hot" topic which has been locked.

4. The days/hours/minutes/seconds uptime counter is not so useful for a board that has been up for years. I'm likely going to change it to years/months/days.

5. I think you went a bit too far in reducing some of the font sizes, especially the "small" font which I bumped up a bit. I use 1600x1200 and some of the text was looking positively miniscule.

6. I darkened the link colors, they weren't showing up very well against the background.

Anyway, don't know if you want to incorporate any of this or not. I'd greatly appreciate the two missing buttons, though, since I'm not that good at photoshop. :nervous:

kall 09-16-2005 10:47 AM

Thank you for the suggestions.

I have uploaded a new version of the zip with new status icons for threads and pms.

If you liked the old ones better, they are in the older zips. :)

robertwo 09-17-2005 07:53 AM

Erm which zip is it, I can only see ones for beta 2, 3 and 4... :)

The Realist 09-17-2005 06:49 PM

Installed but when I click the quick reply Icon it does not work, but if I right click the icon and pick open link it works?

Any ideas?

Sorry all - the last .zip is for the current style.

Or... download one of the other Steel Styles, import it over the top of this one and you should be good to go.

I downloaded them all, the steelblue3.5b4.zip file contains an xml file last modified 17/07/2005.. and the other ones modified even earlier.

I downloaded the Green and Purple and they work a treat though :) Does the blue style have the new icons (but in blue)?

Also if you don't find me cheeky for asking, any chance of a Steel Red :) :)

Keep up the good work, I really like your styles :)
