well that sux. just when i had a chance to get back into developing my website i find the sites gone down. should have got a template sooner LOL

I see one template 'hack' has already been posted - a forum would be useful, even if only until this situation is resolved.

Can't yall just impex the vBt db into vB.org? It would be a lot easier on everyone. :-( I NEVER GOT TO DOWNLOAD ALL THE MODS!

That's probably sorta what is going to happen. Just doing it like you mean would be insane tho.

You can't just impex such a large database into another even larger one...there has to be some kind of time taken to make sure it all goes smoothly.

I would imagine that vbt being down is actually beneficial for the process.

Hence why the merger hasn't happened sooner.

You guys also have to remember; with people posting hundreds of messages here every day, updating profiles, editing messages, messages being deleted, etc., the database is ever changing.

You couldn't pay me enough money to merge to site like vb.org and vbt.com.

The impex merger is not the main issue, it's all the modifications to the source at both sites and the extra data like installs, versions etc that need to come along too :)

Don't forget theradids, userids, postids, ect..... showthread.php?t=987 for vb.org won't be the same for vbt.

Would it be possible get a new forum going for graphics and template works? It might just be easier if everyone reposted thier contributions at this point.

I don't think so. Some of us have poured hours upon hours of time into vBulletinTemplates.com, such as posting, modifications, keeping it going. To discard it like it was nothing would just be silly.

However, if you mean temporary, I'm not sure that's really needed. Template mods never came at a high pace for vB3, so I doubt the absense of vBT for a few weeks will disrupt anyones mod-making.
