I think it's essential for any new blog/journal/whatever hack that comes out to have a feature where you can import members' journals from vBJournal into the new system. I would love to acquire a new or updated blog hack but not at the cost of losing existing entries or manually transferring them over.

Probably a couple of other things too.. It's 10am, I can't think of them all. ;)

- creation of your own blog catergories under your Blog
I've seen this in the invision power board blog system

If they are, it's the first that I've heard of it.

The use is that users can specify their own catergories within their blogs so that for example

you have a work development blog
Personal Blog
Training Blog

Etc

Just a demo of my initial bug fixing, optimising and re-design of vBJournal 1.0.0.. :)

Bare in mind that I have only recently imported journals, entries and comments from Ryangel's vB3 Journal and so many of the Journals will still display a last entry date of 1970.

Development of vBlog 1.0.2 is already well underway.

I am just setting up an Online Marketing forum using Vbulletin, - (Sneak preview here OnlineMarketing.co.uk :squareeyed: :nervous: ) - No users as yet but I really want to implement a blog system before it goes live. Any idea of the timeframe for this one? It sounds as if it would be perfect.

I was considering just using an external system such as textpattern and then displaying the content in the cmps hack, but thats a bit of a crap hash up.

Just to add, Blogging is a massive feature of any site, I personally need it to direct interaction with the forum and create pools of interest and topics to discuss that have already been explained in depth. Apart from the ability to fill your site with loads of relevant content and keywords, its just good fun.

Any updates on this?

Oblivion Knight 05-30-2005 05:03 AM

There have recently been security updates of vBJournal and with the release of vBulletin 3.5.0 just around the corner, I don't see much point in releasing this until a later date.. Hopefully AN-net and I can work something out once his development of vBJournal 2.0 begins.

I thought 3.5 won't be coming out for months.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the knowledge really to write a blog script from scratch.
