I've used WS_FTP as far back as I remember. It was suggested by my first paid webhost, and from then on out it was simple ease-of-use and familiarity.

I have pretty much used all progs since I format my HDD so much. The one I am using now is FileZilla and you can get it off www.sourceforge.com

It's an open source project.. and it has all the features you need to get a job done... and the interface is probably not as cute as cute ftp :)
