Upgrading from shoutbox 1.03..... Just downloaded and tried to install it, but this is what I get right when I run the hack_install.php script:

I had the original error some of the above had,I've redownloaded the new zip but now it will not install,the problem I have is the uninstall is not working so I cannot install the new version :)

It states theres no record of it being installed so it cannot be uninstalled,yet I still have shoutbox options in admincp and all the templates are there.....nightmare! :)

I had that error....I just chose to reinstall again, then uninstall, then reinstall, now it all works wonderfully!

Kall,unfortunately it just doesnt want to uninstall for some reason,bit of a nightmare really.
If I just try to install again I get that error every single time.I shall keep trying for a bit,it doesnt appear to have killed my board as yet hehe.

Hi,

Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE language ADD `phrasegroup_shoutbox` MEDIUMTEXT NOT NULL
mysql error: Duplicate column name 'phrasegroup_shoutbox'

I've jsut been taking a look at the usergroup settings and theres a table with 10 options yes/no but no text in this area whatsoever.I'm starting to think I may have made a glaring mistake now(tho I'm pretty sure I havent its fairly straightforward)so any help is appreciated.

The shoutbox.php breaks out of my design only when signed in. Where do I fix that?

hmm i uploaded all the files, and when i run hack_install.php i always get a database error :(

do i need to install the HIS first?
is the his required for this shoutbox?

because i do not have a his_installed table in my database, i think that's why the error message came up

How do I check? I went through the upgrade and everything worked fine. I didnt get any errors, etc...

That doesn't give me much to go on. Give me the full error message.

hack_install.php should automatically create the table if it does not already exist. MySQL error reporting is turned off when the table is queried on the first page in case it doesn't exist.

The uninstall queries: in SQL format for version 1.04. Run these queries in phpMyAdmin:

[sql]ALTER TABLE language DROP phrasegroup_shoutbox;

DELETE FROM phrasetype WHERE phrasetypeid=716;

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS shoutbox_posts;

ALTER TABLE usergroup
DROP `shoutboxpermissions`,
DROP `shouthierarchy`,
DROP `shoutmaxdaily`;

ALTER TABLE user
DROP `shouts`,
DROP `shoutbanned`;
[/sql]

Now re-install.

2nd "problem" :) :

Even though i have put all the rights perfect, admin can hard delete etc. in the admincp, mods can do, i don't see any text anymore to hard delete...
what could be the problem?

I already have another shoutbox but I like this one better and would like to install it. However, I'm quite new to these things and presume I'd have to delete the one I have installed at the moment.

If this is the case, I have no idea how to do that!

Any advice appreciated :)

Hi. The shoutbox is almost finished... I just need to figure out what to do so that the names and postscounts show. Right now all the old shouts say "0" as the username. What did I miss?

i get this... and i just uploaded the install stuff, and went to the url it says, and it comes up as that

ok, its installed, works... now i have it set to 1 post on forumhome.

What PHP version do you have?

Rename hack_install_b1.php to hack_install.php and use it for now.

Works like a charm for me on version 3.0.3...

but today I got this little warning box message in my IE browser...

anyone knows what could have caused this problem?

If you had this installed before make sure you revert all your templates
