Just reload the template and you should be fine. Also, post this up on vbadvanced.com. Brian is very awesome with tech support.

This is a stupid question for sure but one that I have to ask anyways...

I want to have this as an extra page on my site but I do not want it to be the main home page.. How can I accomplish this??

Go easy on me please--

Renaming the file should work.

I thought it had to be a little more complicated than that... Now I feel really stupid..lol

Excellant hack, just installed in less then 15 minutes.

CHIngs 02-26-2005 03:47 AM

After installing the hack, I am getting this error in the index.php of CMPS

Code:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /includes/sessions.php on line 271

Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
File: /home/***/public_html/anime/forum/includes/init.php
Line: 27

Can anyone please help me?

P.S. I filled the *** with the correct info on the script.

*bang his head on the wall*... I forgot to run the installer.

Takamine334 02-26-2005 05:05 PM

can someone tell me why I am not able to get my drop down menus to work for the navbar? Once installed, they didn't work on index.php

Also, I created another template ($footer2) and took out the $footer variable (because it was conflicting with another hack), yet when I put in $footer2 in adv_index template, it doesn't show up. Am I missing something?

If I can't get this working, I'll be forced to remove the Jelsoft and vBAdvanced copyright notice because of the hack conflict (sidebar hack).

KW802 02-26-2005 09:18 PM

Takamine334,

For the $footer2 problem check over on vBadvanced.com -- You'll need to add the variable to your list of globals (there are a few threads on how people needed to do the same with $navbar2 for example).

If you remove the copyright notices then that'll violate both Jelsoft's and vBadvanced's license agreements. ;)

Takamine334 02-26-2005 10:27 PM

ok, thank you KW....I'll start researching it.

n1ckn4me 03-10-2005 11:44 AM

hey guys! first of all, if I read what is possible with this hack than it sure can come in handy with my page :) nice work!...

I had some problems installing it but I finally was able to fix the errors I had, but now I installed everything correcly and made a default page ($home), the cmps_index.php doesn't seem to work with me...

If I browse it I get this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: print_portal_output() in /var/www/html/cmps_index.php on line 27

(I left the print_portal_output on default ($home) )

What did I miss ??

Thanks in advanced!

Thanks all,

So far I've had a very good experience with vBa CMPS. Just make sure you read the ReadMe thoroughly and understand everything you're going to do before you do it. Most of the mistakes I see made could have been easily avoided :)

LiquidCell 03-24-2005 04:31 PM

thanks for this one

KW802 03-24-2005 05:27 PM

Ismba, looks you you didn't specify which forum(s) to pull the news from.

Choose ACP --> vBa CMPS --> Default Settings --> New Forum ID and type in the forum ID numbers that should be shown.

Also, even if you have that value specified those modules still won't show up if those forums are empty. ;)

Dumb question -- are all the features in vBadvanced Homepage available in CMPS?

Xil Ze 03-27-2005 05:55 AM

so, how does this decide on which thumbnail to show when choosing between multiple image attachments?

is there any way to rewrite it so it shows a random attachment at refresh?

jethbrown 03-28-2005 11:49 PM

Very smooth install and it worked well with my customized template. Thanks!

/forum/cmps_index.php and i am getting this error:

Code:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '/' in /home/satforum/public_html/forum/cmps_index.php on line 25

mtha 04-05-2005 10:30 PM

Just installed for my friend, it looks great! I may think of some way to use it on my site.

There's one problem:

If you set News Forumid (in ACP) being some hidded forum, and you go to portal page, it will give you sql error.

Double check your file edits. Something is having a problem.

DJDarknez 04-07-2005 02:17 PM

*Install!

Ya know, I downloaded the zip and thought it was going to be a difficult process to install it.

Pfft......yeah, I was wrong!

Very easy! Very straightfoward. I like!

aethan 04-14-2005 11:26 PM

somehow it doesn't want to change skins at my site. It can't be the shoutbox, because it didn't want to change them even before I added that...

www.icedaccounts.com

Any advice?

VB: 3.0.7

Go into your CMPS page properties (ACP --> vBa CMPS --> Edit Pages --> {select your page} Edit) and make sure that the value for "Custom Style for this Page:" is set for "Use Default Style" and not "Default Style" or anything else.

question? 04-15-2005 02:31 PM

Great Stuff! just like to say, i bought this copyright removal and a vbulletin with copyright removal!

Branden 04-17-2005 11:31 PM

Is there a way to have the "latest news topics" block only pull topics from say 10 specific forums, rather than one?

Also, is there a way to add a block with links to my sponsors and affiliates?

I am new at this.

CrimsonGT 04-18-2005 05:26 AM

Hey guys, got a quick question for you.

I had something like this setup when I used phpBB forums, and im glad to see something made for VBulletin as well. I am about to install it but im curious. I have a layout for my main site that is different from my forums. I want to use my custom menu bars for like login/calender/members CP and so fourth but display the actual content on the main site. Is this difficult? I also want to have a news page but I want to use my custom news title bar above it rather than the look of my vbulletin forums. Im just curious how hard it would be to get the content out but not the actual look of the vbulletin forums.

Your main page is EXACTLY what I am looking for.....I am fairly new to VB and PHP ...would you be willing to share how you did this?

Awesome job indeed! Two Thumbs UP!

You'll find a lot of help with things like this at www.vbadvanced.com.

You can make the news topics pull from multiple forums, just add the forum ids to the "News Options" under that particular page (or the default page)

You can add blocks that can do anything you imagine. It is very easy to make blocks that have banner ads and links to your sponsors. You can even integrate it with phpadsnew.

Feel free to look at my site and I'll try to help however I can.
