Damage can always be repaired Trafix... it just takes some extra effort that might not have been otherwise necessary. I'm sure you've reviewed this thread by now and know many people are or have been interested in Trader Lite. Some never installed it, some did but later removed it, while others have an incomplete section currently on their sites. I would suggest that this may be a good place to start the rebuilding process. ;)

Now i have a new computer its full steam ahead with the vb trader!

I have inlisted the help of a friend (with thanks) to assist me with completing the search function for the VB Trader.

The following applies:

Can search for keywords in either title or description .... or both
Will only work for MYSQL 4+ .... if your server is using an older version you will need to upgrade .... or ask your server tech to do it for you (whatever applies)
I can estimate that this function will possibly be complete in 3-4 weeks.

Yes as far as I remember everything does work except for the search ... but that should even be complete in the next couple of weeks :)

Sorry to disapiont you but the trader is designed to trade with REAL MONEY and not site but .. points or any other form of fum demonination.

I'll confirm that. I recently did a test install and everything worked just fine. It's just the search function that is missing to round out a very nice hack. The only other strange thing I noticed was I couldn't find a way to disable the moderation of new listings (every one needs to be approved by admin). This may be by design or it may be tied in to another setting but I could not find a way to disable it without hacking the code. Other than that, it's ready to use.

I realize that however I imagine it would not take too much to modify it? I will keep an eye on this thread and i guess we will see. :) Thanks

I posted on your newest message boards, but that place seemed pretty dead, didn't know if you even checked on it anymore.

I asked the same question weeks ago and was told I would get a response ---- never happened. I guess it's no longer being supported? Oh well.

The price isnt "secretive", due to vb.org regulations paid hacks are banned as it publicly duscussing and advertising prices for paid hacks

The forum on my site is only fairly new and i try to check it ant least twice a day ... will be more regular once it kicks off a bit better.

Well I read the reply on your forums before you deleted the thread (and I think my account as well). But I might suggest to you lowering the price and you'll probably get more customers.

If you lowered it to 40% of what you were asking, you'd probably generate alot more customers and therefore make more money. As expensive as it is (especially for a Beta), I would guess you probably don't have too many people buying it.

I don't really agree with charging for vB Hacks anyway (guess I have the old school mentality, "Keep the \\'AREZ free", except in this case it's vB Hacks.... but I would still probably shell out the cash for it, if it was 60% cheaper.

no i didnt deleted the thread or your membership ...... my server tech changed the site from one server to the new one with informing me or doing a new mysql backup ... i had to use last weeks backup :(

will the new version allow you to set permission and let only certain usergroups use vb trader?

yes all versions of the trader will let you set usergroup permissions on who can post auctions etc :)

Yes, I will be using the HIS installer for the vbtrader

The new lite version Will include classifieds and will also allow paypal intergration (this one dosn't)

Functionality will also be included to allow your members to buy credits for buying ads and playing jukebox songs if you want to charge a small fee to your members to do so.

and could be easily intergrated into other hacks to allow payment in real money instead of forum points whatever
