Are there any plans for making this HTL compatible? I really want this hack, but HTL compatibility would make it easier for me to deal with.

I have everything done but the phrase edits. How do you do that -- as I can't edit the text -- only change the English text.

The only deal I appear to have screwed up is that ' next to -28 members and 19 guests. I'm consistent cuz I did it on both the test and the live forums. Anyone want to give me a hint?

From a hackers point of view.......

could you please amend your install instructions to replace a part of the navbar template instead of replacing the whols template?

Reason for this is because a lot of other hacks edit the dropdown menus for one reason or other. I can see a somebody stuffing up his board navigation (if it already hasnt happened) where he has previously edited the navbar and then followed your instructions and wiped the lot out :)

Please remember to only edit code where it is required, it might be easier to replace a whole template to add a hack ... but can undo others hard work.

If you're already using the above hack, you can use the variables that you need from it in place of what he has for those variables in his hack and take out the queries you no longer need and save some server abuse. ;) That way you could use it on every page if you wanted to without adding any extra queries to those pages.

I got the same issue with my Pms not showing up as a link? In the authors screen shot it shows a link to the PMs?

This is a good hack, but did anyone modify it so that it looks like the VB2 Welcome Panel? Having the Avatar on the left looks much better to me!

To do that, you'd simply have to edit the HTML.

Easy enough to do yourself. Unfortunately I don't have the time, or will, to do such things atm.

Yes, I know it's only a matter of playing with the HTML but I have been but I'm confused because of the whole if/else coding! Every time I try, I end up with the guest avatar along with my avatar displayed at the same time, then the navbar goes missing, lol. I had the VB2 welcome panel hacked nicely, but with the new coding I have to get used to it. So if anyone is willing to provide the same look as the VB2 welcome panel, I will be forever grateful!

As for the problems with no PM links; by the looks of it, your templates/phrases are different from mine. If you see, mine has "PMs: Unread 1, Total 35" where unread is the link.

I'm not so sure you have the code for Unread in your downloaded data as I'm the 3rd user who the PM link hasn't worked for. Either that or the 3 of us aren't too bright LOL. In any case it's a great hack and many thanks... if you can help us fix the PM part that'll just be icing on the cake!

Trying to get rid of the ' - part

OK I figured out the PM Unread link issue... your instructions don't include the vBPhrase addition for "unread"

I added a global vBphrase Varname: "unread" with the Text: "Unread" and now the link works perfectly. You may want to add this to your instruction set, other than that GREAT job!

You need to go to the Nav Bar template and edit it out of the HTML. It's pretty simple, just find the ` and delete it. You can customize that text any way you want.

For example, I moved all of that text up onto the same line as the Online Now line and placed it in parentheses. Then I added code for the current time on the bottom line in the free space I had freed up.

I'll take a look at getting them updated with the unread part in them asap. Unfortunately I've just been burgled, so don't expect it too soon. :(

Everyone is having problems with vB.org's attachments lately, but if you use 7-zip, you can still open the files.

i use mozilla and i never have any problems with the zip files on this site
