and how much the deluxe will cost? I want to have it.

Deluxe will probably be $50. That includes 3 months of full support (install / configuration / how-to explanations). I'm not yet sure on what to do with support after that 3 months period, but I'm not trying to become filthy rich off of this, I just want to make sure that I don't see all my time taken by "freebies", really. I've done that for several years now and I've finally realized that with the plans of buying my own apartment (which is expensive in the NL) I can no longer do that. :)

Sounds good, but you should take a look at the Hack Tracking Log (link in my sig) just to see if I've not already done half of your work there with that. You could possibly combine the two. :) Might be worth checking out ^_^

And yeah yeah, I hope to have my Journal system done soon, but the HTL and Modules Manager are definitely higher priority (cos both are necessary for the Journal System to work in the first place ^_^).

Hi, this is solely for my site that im doing atm, altho I have thought about releasing it and probbly will. Im just writing something that I can code on top of without having to re-do stuff over and over again. Basicly mine is a simple page/catagory system that will allow you to call modifications on the fly, it also handles the template cache dynamicly. :)

Okay, that doesn't sound very much like the HTL, nor the HTL in combination with my Modules Manager. So I guess the only use for you would be the HTL with all its many useful features. :)

Honestly I havent had the time to look over your thread, I am building this for my site simply to have a easy way to store and retrive content. I added the 'grab modifications based on page' stuff so I would have a easy way to grab info from my board when I needed it (for news, latest threads etc) I'm sure it could eventally power journals and stores but I havent got to that point yet.

I'm not trying to build a large hack to release to the public, im just making this easyer on myself and if I decide to release it later on I might :)

well, the Modules Manager is somewhat useful for exactly that purpose.
But I don't have the time right now to fully explain that. Soon, I'll have a thread up about the Modules Manager :)

with HTL out, what's the expected ETA on this?

I'm reckoning 2 weeks for the Modules Manager.

Then.. I don't know, a few more weeks (at least) for finishing the Deluxe edition of the Journal System, which will then be stripped off of Deluxe stuff and what remains will be released here as the Basic edition.

I might well make a public beta release (for testing purposes) of the Journal System before I get to adding any of the Deluxe features. That should happen around 50% of total development time, so that'll be a lot earlier :)

though with the huge amount of people flocking to the HTL now, I might lose a lot of time doing support... though.. so far it seems like most people have managed to resolve their issues using the FAQ nicely (what few issues were found, anyway)

well theirs a few other things i'll be needing to do before i upgrade my live site anyway but to hear it's actively on it's way is awesome, i'lll be a deluxe customer for sure.

Kura - any update on the timescales for these. Journal in particular?

Because things have grown fairly hectic around the HTL, around my personal life, and around my business/work life, I can't really say anything about an ETA or any updates thereof.

However, I'm *hoping* to start live testing the Modules Manager on EverythingvB.com which will then be followed by the ever-so-necessary HTL 1.1 (which is higher priority). After that, the Journal System will be made ASAP and released even faster! ;D (I'm thinking of making a beta release of the Journal System for up to 10 people, along the way of the development).

Oh, and I am planning on making a big Journal System announcement thread soon, to discuss my planned features and the like :)

I'd like to volunteer to be in test group. Have around 196 journal users (with 3140 entries and 3051 comments) at present so should be able to give it a reasonable testing. Let me know if you are interested.

But I'm likely to start an announcement asking for people to apply to the beta test, and then do some reviewing of 'applicants', when the time comes. So keep an eye out for that! :)


But that many journal users, entries and comments is Quite a useful thing... :)

is their an ETA on a features list for either but preferebly both the STANDARD and DELUXE versions?
