1. News categories with articles + advertisement system integrated in the first post (like any large web site)
2. Links categories with links (like Google)
3. Photo categories with photo galeries
4. Reviews categories with reviews + advertisement system integrated in the first post (like any large web site)
5. Poll
6. Top Sites
7. Archives
8. HiveMail email integration (activated with a simple switch)
9. VB forums integration (activated with a simple switch)
10. Search engine friendly URL's (activated with a simple switch)

You can create advert accounts, for your users, payed in advance for a certain period of time. A system is to be developed for 2CheckOut and PayPal.

Those are so far the scratch options.. but there will be much more when the final product is out. :) We will see...

I take it the news will be independant of the forums, I mean like in vBhome lite, you have a forum specific as the news forum and displays on the frontend, is this the same or different in cPublisher?

Also, How easily are the templates edittable? Are you coding this in object oriented php?

I would say 5-6 months before first beta is done. So far the script engine files and installer is completed... I work on the admin CP right now...

Wow, I guess it's still long ways away, but Im sure it's going to be a great product. I like the screenshot. You should post more if you can.

This is what Im looking for, only I really hope for this to be out ASAP! :)

Count me in.

The script is completly independent, all it will use from HiveMail and VB is the number of emails, PMs you have (database check/pulling info)... and of course the users database is the same... No need to hack anything, it's all set in the installer process. The script is smart enough to see it all in the beginning.

b00tsauce 09-08-2003 06:48 AM

Will the comment system be vB or cP? Or is it like you said "a simple switch" from one to the other...?

It's just the user commenting system that's a concern for me at this point.

TECK 09-08-2003 06:46 PM

As I said, is an independent script. It has nothing to to with VB.

Falkware 09-18-2003 03:16 PM

Any ETA on when the domain cpublisher.com will be up?

Keep trying to hit it but it's not there I assume...

TECK 09-18-2003 04:21 PM

5-6 months, when the first beta will be out.

GuruXL 09-22-2003 05:05 PM

I look forward to using it, thanks again TECK.

NyCwill 10-10-2003 02:42 AM

Teck, will you offer like a openning day discount?? :D.... like around $100 with support, would be great ;) ;) it would make a few of us happy.

Nam 10-10-2003 04:34 AM

Damn, sound so tempting..

Let's see:

$130 for CB
$160 for vB
$130 for Hivemail

Total: $420, a little bit pricey, but hey, you get everything you want, cms, reviews, free mail, forum, photo... This kind of site might cost serveral thousands bucks for sure.

Can't wait to see it... One problem I don't like about Hivemail is that their site is not really active, they have new version with a few bug fixes after almost a year. I hope they still alive when you release CP, Teck.

Alcar Lazuli 10-10-2003 06:47 AM

Many bugs have been fixed, and features implemented. HiveMail just takes longer to create new versions I guess :)

ragintajin 10-11-2003 09:38 PM

TECK,

will cPublisher be integrated with vBulletin's skins/styles?

The script is independent. However, it uses templates/skins, so you can customize it the way you like, same like VB.

paddysplace 10-12-2003 01:37 PM

One question, how expandable will it be? I hate to do this but I'm going to refer to the only CMS I can think of... PHP-Nuke (I know this is a bad comparison but it works..)

Will it be easy to create a new function like a module? Like lets say I want to have a guestbook, but your script doesn't include that. Will I be able to find a way to integrate that without having to hack code, just adding it?

Thanks in advance, this is looking great.

Regards,
Patrick

assassingod 10-12-2003 01:42 PM

TECK; do you have any more screenshots for us?

Nam 10-13-2003 09:22 PM

Give him time guys, it's half of a year more to go :).

Briboy923 10-16-2003 02:37 PM

Well. I was planning to wait for CPub for my new review board, but hey - members like improvements, so nothing wrong with starting off slow. At this rate, Cpub will come out when VB3 Gold is out....

joor 10-21-2003 03:32 PM

Keep up the good work Teck, your pricing is spot on imho. $500 purchase all the software to make a site is actually a more than fair price when you sit back and think about how much it would cost for you to code all this yourself, or how much it costs to purchase Adobe Photoshop, or how much it would cost to have someone else program this custom for you. This is pennies and Teck is not requiring you to have vb or hive, if all you need is to release news, charge advertisers, gallery and so forth than you only need his software. It is an added benefit to those that have vb, but there will be a huge market for those that don't even use vbb or hive.

Excited about the work Teck, the web needs a high quality and affordable CMS.

$500. You got to be kidding me. It better install itself, scour the web for related new stories, publish them and update the site everyday at that price.
Way too many free or reasonably priced alternatives out there.
Good luck in your venture. I hope you succeed.

Nam 10-22-2003 12:33 AM

I think joor was meant the $500 price inlcuding vb, hivemail. The cpublisher itself is only $130. Unless I'm missing something.

Kwak 10-22-2003 04:36 AM

There are alot of CMS at the same price range but I don't see a problem for Tech getting aLOT of sales. Good luck.

I think he's saying $500 total for Hivemail + vB + cP, not $500 only for cP.

Jannefant 12-15-2003 11:55 PM

Project death?

Chris M 12-16-2003 12:40 AM

Project death?

TECK is still working on this, I assume - Please do not revive old threads with irrelevant 2 word posts...

Satan

ptbyjason 12-18-2003 04:14 PM

I talked to him online the other day. he is still working on it. It is still months away though.

Drile 01-11-2004 04:58 AM

Will cP include support for vBulletin 3.x access masks? That would be quite awesome, and is what in fact was holding me back from many other CMS's.

glo 09-17-2004 09:43 PM

where is this up to now?

I cant find any of the sites?

Brad 09-17-2004 09:58 PM

I have not seen the author in some time and do not know if he is still planning to release this project, or if he is even activly developing it anymore

Mhh we are now 12 months later and no beta or even a website. (http://www.cpublisher.com/).
Ok I go then with vBadvanced and al the hack modules.
Shame, this looks beter.. But ok you snooze you loose.. :tired:

WoodiE 09-24-2004 02:39 AM

I PM'ed TECK about 2-3 weeks ago if not longer and never got a single reply from him, I'm assuming this project is dead. Considering he's not around, nor replying to posts or PM's and as mentioned above there is no beta, there is no website, and we don't even have a screen shot of this project.

To bad to because I was really looking forward for this program, now I'm back to looking for something similar. :-\

He's probably sitting it out until vb releases a cms so he can improve the features.. but that is just a random guess.
