Use this if you want... in the first user.php edit, you can instead of using "Login as User" you can type in the following and it will show up as "Login as Johnny" or whatever the person's username is.

Another thing... I can't get the work only for userid=1 thing to work... I admined my Test Account and two things happened...

1. After clicking on the Find for the user search and after I typed in the name or partial on either the front page or in the find page, I got a blank page.

2. Second, I copy and pasted the link that logs me in as the other user into my browser address bar while I was logged in the admin CP under Test Account and I was able to get access.

Please help.

Excellent hack...here's an addition...so you have the link when searching for user:

replace

Sounds like it could be useful, although I'm guessing that logging in as a user is going to reset all their New posts / New PMs etc ?

Would there be any way of keeping all the last visit info etc, sort of "stealthy" log in as user ??

Well I have a problem with this hack as it does not let me login as the user. I am sure I have done something wrong or possibly messed it up with another hack. I will go back step by step through this to see if there is something I missed.

Silly question here, but how do i login as the user? The vbhacker file said everything was done correctly, but i dont see any links :(

The vbhacker file for this doesnt work! I had to use the text file, which didnt really bother me, But now i when i click the link to login as the user it just takes me to my forum home page logged in as me!

Whats going on?

Yeah,
I installed it according to instructions, but when I click "login as user" it takes me to my board logged in as admin (myself). I have tried refresh. I have tried clearing cookies, etc. It still does the same thing.

This hack is great.. thnx man.. I have done it manualy many times when users have problems I reset their password and login as them then they change password.. its just a mess


now I can login with a user's name and still stay on as admin :)
thats cool


only think if you could explain a little more on how to make it used by admin 1 only not any other admins and that will be great

I was logged in as another admin and tried out the feature again, then when it went to the logout screen it didn't work properly because /admin/ was in the directory.

It seems to work fine, I had no porblems installing this at all, but when I click the link to login as the user this is the message I get:
