I have a question about this javachat in specific, it appears to my knowledge that it doesn't support auto-op'ing for registered users when they enter. Only through mIRC when going to the channel it will auto-op you. Any details on how to get this bozaca or whatever chat to auto-op?

I havent installed this hack and I havent looked at the code, but this should work for all such hacks. Put the url that points to your chatroom, into the title input area on the "create new forum" page. Basically, the chatroom will appear as a forum in your forum list. Then just set your access permissions for the new chatroom forum to whatever you like - as you would any other forum.

Stupid question time. I uploaded the files and created the template. I'm assuming that the link should be "http://www.blahblah.com/forums/chat.php" Is that correct?

Secondly, when I go to that link, all I get is a grey box as if something is there, but it's not running right. Any ideas?

Does anyone know how to edit the jar file? I've tried various editors but it's all still illegible. :(

I've swapped this for the deluxe version - the one with the chess and checkers games. My members will probably love it, except for one thing. The private chat swaps to a seperate room instead of the usual popup, so you can't see what's going on in the main room. The smilies are as ugly as sin too. :( Unless I figure out a way to sort them I think I'll have to stick with Parachat or JPilot. So I'm having a bash at editing the jar file. Currently without success.

@Scott: have you got your java plug-ins installed ok? If your browser isn't java enabled all you'll get is the gray box.

Why when I download the IRC files from Bocazas themselves am I restriced to connecting only to their IRC server?

Yet when I use the files attached with this hack I can access any IRC server?

It looks like the product has to be registered for use with any IRC server. Has the version included with this hack been hacked as well or warzed?

This is free, or at least was at the time of release. I expect the version on there site has been compiled for use with there servers only.

heh i think i will give this one a try on my forums, from what i've heard, it's pretty reliable, and it's FREE!!!

EDIT: just tried it out, it will only connect to irc.bocazas.com, seems that to use it for other servers, you are now required to register, for use with all of them :tired: looks like i'm without a irc chat again

Well I had used this one until my host decided to move the ircd from the server my site was on. Might want to check it out as it is a nice java irc chat.
