As with the other product, I would have to come take a look at what's going on.

On another note, have you considered updating your site to vB 4.2.3? You will likely have better luck with many products that have been uploaded within the last several years. :)

Thanks... but, we have a stable environment with a membership of retired veterans, average age of 60+, so constantly changing their environment doesn't really add much value.

Regards,
Doug

Updating your vB from 4.1.8 to 4.2.3 wouldn't change things much for the end user, but of course that is your call. :)

Hi Mark, I had a thought on this addon the other day.

On the addon, when a moderator marks a thread as resolved by clicking the button rather replying to said report, would it be possible to force said moderator to reply to the thread with the text of "I have resolved this report." ?

Additionally, if a moderator replies to the thread and clicks the resolve report checkbox, would it also be possible to auto-close the report thread?

Alan_SP 03-11-2016 02:04 PM

If it needs only to be said text (I solved report, or something in that direction), mod can automatically create said post for moderator who closes it with button. It would make things easier for all.

MarkFL 03-11-2016 02:28 PM

I have some staff who resolve reports without posting, and what I did was to choose to record the actions in the moderator log, so I can see who does what with reports.

However, an auto-generated post wouldn't add any more information...I actually prefer my staff state exactly what they did to resolve a report, but not all feel inclined to do so.

Elixar 03-11-2016 05:29 PM

Would it be possible to have it to where a thread once marked as resolved can be moved to a selected forum?

I'm curious why closing a thread that only moderators can see would be of any value, given that moderators can reply to closed threads?

Alan_SP 03-12-2016 04:27 PM

Moderators can reply to closed threads only where they moderate.

It basically means that most probably they don't have moderator permissions in forum where reports are created.

DBTech has a mod which enables automatically setting all moderators to moderate forum(s) we choose (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=281850 - just not sure if you need pro version or it works in free version).

I just mention this as reminder, nothing else. When we have admin rights, we tend to forget what others can and can't do. I do that sometimes. Too often actually.

MarkFL 03-12-2016 04:51 PM

Yes, it is easy to forget that not all of our staff has the same privileges we do when it comes to threads.

On the forum I help admin, we have set all staff as moderators of the report forum so they can do what they need to do there. We don't close reports, we simply use the prefix as an indicator of whether the issue has been resolved or not.

I'm running it on vB 4.2.5 (on multiple sites) with no issues. :)

It is working fine on 4.2.5

Another mod I installed missed up all plugins, after restoring a backup, this mod worked fine.

My apology.

Thanks!

This one will work for vB 4.2.x, but I have a version for vB 3.8.x.

I really like this mod! Very handy! The only problem is that when you reply to a post, the bottom part where you can check "resolve" or "unresolve" before submitting post, doesn't work (4.2.5). I have to use the thread tools to do it.

Great job!

I use this on multiple vB 4.2.5 sites without that issue. Perhaps there is a conflict with another product?
