If so, let me know what web server you're running. If it's not Apache or Litespeed, it may not be compatible with .htaccess rewrite rules. Fillip |

Let me first state that I've been testing/using DragonByte SEO Pro for approximately 4 months now on a live vb4 site. I should also mention that there are numerous things which can cause traffic on a website to fluctuate, whether it's up or down, and SEO is just one of them, but it can be a significant one. The graph above is of site traffic on the vb4 site I installed DragonByte SEO Pro on. Prior to installing DragonByte SEO Pro I had been running vbSEO on it for nearly 18 months and although I did see some initial boost in traffic way back when I first installed vbSEO, for some time now (over a year) the site had been pretty stagnant as far as traffic goes - always increasing but just slightly. For those unfamiliar with the previous product I had installed "vbSEO", it was also an SEO based product, but it is no longer available and no longer supported. Here are some details related to the graphed timeline above: 1) I had been running vbSEO exclusively up until approximately November 1, 2013.My observations since DragonByte SEO Pro has been running on my site exclusively: 1) My page rankings through Google are significantly higher overall. Although most pages were indexed previously many were not ranked well enough to be visible to get hits.Like I mentioned above there are numerous things that can cause traffic to fluctuate on a website. You can draw your own conclusions. |
Thank you this mod.
I found a bug. Non-latin character url no problem but keywords and description not change |
I'm also having a problem with external links, showing up as 403's even though I don't have the external links turned on....

This really sounds very impressive. Do you know your PR at these times? Or just now? |

The other factor to consider is "PageRank" was a per page rank. It would give a different rank for every url of your site. It was not all encompassing and would've been hard to judge a websites overall rank using it, especially a forum which has hundreds if not thousands of pages. With that all said, No I do not have any "PageRank" info from before, and honestly have not looked at the "PageRank" for any site in years. When I actually looked up to see if Google was still using it the last article written on "PageRank" was in 2007, so I'm thinking if it's not defunct already it really is not much of a factor. It also appears the only people offering to be able to check your Google "PageRank" are third parties. If it's not in Google's own Webmaster Tools I wouldn't count it with much weight. Edit: The third party "PageRank" checker: prchecker.info says the site I detailed above's main landing page's rank is a "1" (as in 1 out of 10) |
Ok, I thought you maybe new some info on your site, I noticed change in PR before installing vBSEO (from 1 to 4), then after sometime it went from 4 to 3. And I noticed less traffic.
So, it looks like it has some use. But, this is just my observation. |
After installing this product in my vb 4.2.2
All links are redirected to forum.php only?! So, uninstalled. |
Did you set the htaccess rules properly? At any rate, don't be afraid to ask dbtech for support, their customer support is pretty active and good.

DB Tech, Do you know of any customer who runs Litespeed using this, please?
Also I have a question about the features of this if I may: Is there anything in this mod which will make it more likely that images on my site get found in Google Image Search than without it? Thanks for taking the time to respond. |
idk but for images, you'll want this mod.

bzcomputers - thanks for sharing that info. One thing I've noticed from over 10 years of doing this is that nothing, especially Google, is predictable. The other thing I noticed is that a lot of times, if you change some things on all pages of your site, Google will reindex everything and perhaps refactor some ranking calculations. I'm guessing this is what happened with you. It took 2 months to reindex.

I'm getting a blank forum.php page. I have set the Force Forum Directory Index to no as suggested, but still no luck.
I have removed (commented out) my old vbseo htaccess and added the suggested htaccess settings. www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/forum.php Everything else seems fine http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...cements-rules/ Mark |
I'm still running vB 3.8.x. Should I download and install this mod listed here, or should I go to your other "3.8" page? I see that this mod has been updated but not the other one.
Thanks in advance. |

What do I put in the text field for Sitemap File Path? I see './store_sitemap', but where is this folder located? If I have to create, where exactly do I create it in? I'm asking this because I see the error message that says "You did not enter a valid value for this setting."
Thanks in advance. |
