Thanks for the plugin. I too have same issue with mega and in fact it's causing by selecting multiple forums from the list by holding ctrl key select. I selected all forums and save and now plugin works.

However, i'm using custom option to color first post differently, and did this on

<div class="postbody"style="background: black;">

but all background of posts are black now..

I copied legacy postbit where the avatars are on left.

ozzy47 03-30-2014 03:12 PM

Hmmm, can you paste the contents of ozzmodz_firstpost_display_postbit here.

Good Lord...

I checked it again to get content and found out that i actually edited legacy instead of the plugin's template...

Now, i pasted legacy to plugin's template made the change about first post and everything is fine, working good under 4.2.2

Thanks and sorry for my mistake

Kind Regards

ozzy47 03-31-2014 03:17 PM

Not a problem, happens to all of us. :)

ccmoon 04-03-2014 02:46 AM

very good mod. Thanks

ozzy47 04-03-2014 03:17 AM

Glad ya like it, and thanks for marking as installed. :)

KTAS 04-08-2014 12:49 PM

Hi Ozzy, it's me again...

While it's a plugin idea, it's based on same purpose of your plugin.

Let's say i need to keep first post along with some other important posts always on top ? Like a moderation tool. You select some posts in xx pages of thread and keep them always on top like first first idea.

I'm happy with the plugin, but it'd be cool to select some posts in thread and keep them at top instead of merging posts of different users.

Cheers and Best Regards

There is an error show " The following dependencies were not met:
This product is not compatible with version 5.3.28 of PHP. (Compatible starting with 5.4.0)"

HM666 04-24-2014 01:13 PM

It works fine for me but I have one problem. I cannot make the first post have a different color no matter what I do. I've tried using the postbit template code, I've tried using the postbit_legacy template code, I've tried adding my own div class in the additional.css template and then changing it in the ozz template to no avail.

//sorry my english :(

Not really sure, I have not looked into that at all.

But I doubt it hurts, as on this site, all the mod threads and style threads have the first post on all pages.

On vbulletin.org, descripton at page 2:
HTML Code:

<meta name="description" content="Page 2-[OzzModz] First Post On All Pages Per Thread/Forum vBulletin 4.x Add-ons" />
at page 3
HTML Code:

<meta name="description" content="Page 3-[OzzModz] First Post On All Pages Per Thread/Forum vBulletin 4.x Add-ons" />
....

You can see in attachments (at your webiste)

ozzy47 07-19-2014 01:07 PM

Same thing happens on all threads in vBulletin, look at this thread, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=162335

First page of the thread:
Code:

<meta name="keywords" content="The one and only Happy Birthday thread, vbulletin,forum,bbs,discussion,jelsoft,bulletin board,hacks,modifications,addons,articles,programming,site review" />

<meta name="description" content="The one and only Happy Birthday thread Community Lounge" />

Last page of the thread:
Code:

<meta name="keywords" content="The one and only Happy Birthday thread, vbulletin,forum,bbs,discussion,jelsoft,bulletin board,hacks,modifications,addons,articles,programming,site review" />

<meta name="description" content="Page 21-The one and only Happy Birthday thread Community Lounge" />

their meta description are different!

ozzy47 07-19-2014 01:42 PM

Only difference I see is the page number in the description.

Because vbulletin use title for description, not use post content. But, they different, and google like that!

BasicGreatGuy 07-19-2014 02:09 PM

I just installed. I have the forums set that I want it to show in, along with the appropriate user groups to be able to view, and none of the existing threads are showing first post.

Not sure why, if you pm me a admin account, I can try and troubleshoot it on your site.

Not to sure what I could change in the mod to make it different.

Thank you for the reply. The powers that be (above me) would not like me issuing temp admin account, unfortunately.

Our site uses postbit legacy. Does that make a difference?

ozzy47 07-19-2014 02:42 PM

No that is what I use, so it should be working.

I just looked in the panel at your postbit file in stye manager, and the postbit is blank.

ozzy47 07-19-2014 03:02 PM

That is correct, if you read the first post it explains that.

Q. How do I use the custom template?

Just wanted to make sure. I did cut and paste our postbit legacy in just now and changed the setting to custom etc. And the first post still isn't showing. Does it matter that our users have several templates to chose from to view the forum?

No it should not as long as you did the edits in each style.

As a test, I uninstalled your mod and installed this one Same results. I haven't had a problem with any of your other mods. There must be something special with our setup, that is preventing this from working like it should. Disappointing as I was looking forward to using it.

I thank you for your replies.

I thank you for your replies.

That is why I would need access to figure out what is going on, otherwise it is just a guessing game.

dany_danay 08-16-2014 01:31 AM

Hi, i need that only themes from certain uswrgroup show post in all pages...

And if i can specific themes by id that i DONT want to show first post in all pages should be lovely

Can i pay for this :)

tpearl5 08-24-2014 01:45 AM

This won't work if you have threads sorted by newest first. The mod (and the old one) do not handle this case. I guess the first post, which is actually the last post on the last page should be stuck on top?

ozzy47 08-24-2014 08:27 AM

Yeah it would be possible to set it up that way I suppose.

tpearl5 08-24-2014 01:54 PM

I know it's kind of bass ackwards but I found a case where it would be useful.

Limality 10-08-2014 08:08 AM

Would it be hard to modify this Add-On to enable users to chose the option to have the first post appear on top while they're creating the thread?

Kind of like:

First post on top?: Y/N

ozzy47 10-08-2014 09:04 AM

Yeah that would require a bit of doing.

Black Snow 10-14-2014 03:58 PM

ozzy, your mod has this in it.
Code:

"; $forums = array(0 => $vbphrase['dbtech_act_all_forums']);
I doubt this is meant to be in here lol or is it there to work with DBTech mods too?

ozzy47 10-14-2014 06:08 PM

That's what happens when you have written stuff for a different entity sometimes. :) I will fix it in the next version.

ozzy47 10-14-2014 09:49 PM

v1.1.1 (October 14,2014)
Fixed a incorrect phrase in one of the settings.

BGN64 10-16-2014 09:01 AM

Can it be made collapsible like on vb.org?

ozzy47 10-16-2014 09:08 AM

I can look into it at some point.

tommyxv 11-27-2014 10:14 PM

ozzy, i noticed that the 1st post on the first page is using my forum default postbit_legacy template even though I switch to the 'ozzmodz_firstpost_display_postbit' template and I am using the regular posbit template. That template only shows on the other pages, but not on page one.

The mod I was using before used whatever posit template I choose on all pages. Is this something that can be changed?

ozzy47 11-27-2014 10:21 PM

No, this only changes the postbit on pages above #1, it is designed that way to make the post stand out from the replies on the page. I saw no need to do this on the first page, as it is the first post in the thread. :)
