I want it to! Im sure there are lots of other members also looking for it :)

cdoyle 01-02-2015 03:44 PM

I'll contribute something too, I really need a good/working newsletter mod.
I get complaints on the one I'm using that it doesn't obey the 'do not send emails from admins'.

So I'm hesitant to use it now, since people get testy over that type of stuff.

If we could, can we continue this here, http://ozzmodz.com/showthread.php/62...er-Mod-For-vB4

Would be much easier to follow, as well as we can discuss a bit more than allowed here.

Seems that the "spam-phobia" that many webmasters have, disallows even normal registrations. What's the meaning of "The system you are using is not allowed to register on this site.." when I'm trying to signup in your site? I've used FF, IE, Chrome, even Opera.

In anycase just a note. ChrisTERiS Newsletter works fine, for at least 5 people that I know (including me). Here is an example from a newsletter (even if it's just a season greetings) that I got some days ago. See the copyright at the bottom to validate that it was sent by that mod.

Not sure, when did you get that message on my site?

Actually what is your useragent string?

Nick did you use your username from this site to sign up there? I got an error when trying to sign up that said I needed to use the same username as vb.org.

ozzy47 01-03-2015 02:45 PM

Nah it is probably his host that is blocked by one of the mods.

....lol....lol....lol......... Who thought such anti-spam rule?? Ozzy47:D Congratulations my dear. Never thought that maybe this can be the issue. I thought that maybe there is a country restriction rule. At least put a more detailed message there :)

Let me give a try..........

ozzy47 01-03-2015 02:47 PM

No it's not that, what is your useragent string?

what's this??

ozzy47 01-03-2015 02:51 PM

Well it would be something like this, Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1453.116 Safari/537.36

Go to your online page on your site and choose to show useragent string.

What if I say that I understood nothing? Should be that I've IQ 1? Which online page and where to choose to show that string? Do you mean in my vB admincp?

ozzy47 01-03-2015 02:59 PM

Nope, on your vB site, go to online.php

Then at the bottom of that page you gave a select box that is titled,
User Agent: set that to yes, and then click on the Display button.

Once the page refreshes, get the useragent string for yourself, and paste it here.

After 5 years using vB4 it's the first time that I'm seeing this page.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0

But as I said I got the same message when tried to register with IE, Chrome and even Opera. I think that in those case the useragent should be different.

ozzy47 01-03-2015 03:04 PM

Ok, what hosting provider are you using for your internet?

I've removed my IP. The rest is: dsl.dyn.forthnet.gr
Forthnet is my ISP

ozzy47 01-03-2015 03:15 PM

Ok, you should be able to register now. :)
