1.4 fixes the above issues. :)

Kat-2 08-10-2013 07:50 PM

I just installed it less than 2 hours ago...closer to an hour, and tried it in 4 browsers...and it is like this...(and I was so excited to get avatars showing)

Mr GRiM 08-11-2013 01:46 AM

Installed it but you need to fix the avatar max display size, waiting for next update.

BGN64 08-11-2013 12:25 PM

I would like to show only for certain user groups. Might this be added in future versions?

Bubble #5 08-12-2013 01:18 PM

Installation went well but I don't know if it's working or not. I do not see it showing up anywhere.

Where should it be popping up at?

Akyeame Kwame 08-12-2013 07:44 PM

I just installed the 1.4 version but my avatar is out of the boundaries of the sidebar. Hope it's fixed on the next version.

GameOverViper 08-18-2013 04:18 PM

I have it as an option for bigger avatars. Is it possible to make avatars show up a specific size with this mod so that it doesn't take over the entire area?

Max Taxable 08-18-2013 08:06 PM

Just re-upload this in products, allow overwrite.

Kat-2 08-18-2013 08:08 PM

Thank you MT. Straightened mine right up!! You da man!!

Fixed....see how much better?? :)

Max Taxable 08-18-2013 08:25 PM

Boards that allow really large avatars still going to have some bleed through, the right way to fix this is to scale the avatars in the display in this Plugin.

Probably true, but actually I allow large avatars. Mine is pretty big too, and as you see it fits well now.

The text still starts within the borders of the image - and if you had a dark BG in that image it would be alot more noticeable. It's a stopgap fix until this product coder returns from his vacation. Glad I could help some.:D

THANKS! I also had a big avatar 180 [width] by 250 [height]

Obviously the width was having the picture consume the text but with your fix, the text is now away from the picture.

Max Taxable 08-23-2013 10:22 PM

Glad when I can help.

vbresults 08-24-2013 06:55 PM

ABOUT ME ON SIDEBAR! 1.5
  • New Options: Avatar Max Width and Height
    --- This allows you to contain forum avatars in the about me block without distorting the scale/aspect ratio.
  • New Option: Link Style
    --- You no longer have to worry about link visibility over avatars if you choose to display large ones. See screenshot section for more details.

kiddo 08-24-2013 07:07 PM

I tried the new update, but again, the picture overshadows the text, sticking back to Max's solution

Did you read the changelog?

temsamane 08-25-2013 08:19 AM

i dont see an avatar image and when i click on the edit image button, it refers to /profile.php?do=editprofilepic

I dont have a profile pic for users, but only an avatar.

So i dont see a picture on the widget. How can I change the picture to someone's avatar?

You're not running the latest version then -- because these things were fixed a while ago

I.G.O.T.A. 09-09-2013 07:51 PM

Installed and nominated.

Works correctly now. :)

deathtrancer 09-09-2013 10:53 PM

Thank you for this nice work

FiveDollla 09-10-2013 08:04 PM

Love this mod, but my recent post and recent comment sidebars will not show. Any reason why?

Woopz figured it out!

FiveDollla 09-10-2013 08:05 PM

Also could you do a my threads option?

FiveDollla 09-13-2013 12:17 AM

Sweet! Thanks for the feedback

Bubble #5 09-17-2013 01:59 AM

Is there a way to remove the log out button?

Would be nice not to tempt members to leave....

ywwz 09-29-2013 01:37 PM

Good one:)

vbresults 11-26-2013 07:36 PM

1.5.1
  • "Log Out" link is no longer visible by default; it is now an option in the AdminCP.
  • Fixed a bug that made recent thread title overflow beyond the forum block.

vbresults 11-26-2013 08:26 PM

There Is No Premium Version

This mod doesn't have a premium version, but it can still get attention. If people in this topic take the premium version of Spam Hammer, this plugin also gets faster updates and responses than our other 20 plugins.

Premium clients can vote once every 6 months for high priority to be given to plugins without a premium version, so "About Me on Sidebar!" can garner faster answers to your questions and engineering of your ideas.

Mr GRiM 11-26-2013 11:15 PM

Still broken but now has more spam, I edited it and fixed it and removed all your spam from the code and now it looks perfect.

Spam is an insulting term, please do not use insults when thanking a coder for using their modification they provided for free.

Feedback can be left in a more professional manner, or not at all.

I know I would prefer someone didn't come into a thread for a mod I created to tell me they removed a copyright link or other code I placed in there which are within the forum rules to advertise my services. It's a petty thing to do- if you don't like a mod as it is provided then don't use it. No one is forcing you.

That's fair enough, if it was just a copyright, but that's not the case, immediately after you install it you have some sort of redirect in the ACP and it starts some sort of comment feed and it is filled with advertising for his premium version of Spam hammer, I find the whole thing kind of ironic that he promotes removing spam while at the same time feeding it to you, I guess I could probably say nothing at all like you say but I think it's fair warning to others who may install this mod.

@ OP thank you for the mod but please don't hijack our ACP to advertise your Premium mods, also you may want to consider some modifications to your code for the Avatar resizing, I modified it so the Max Width is the only thing you need to worry about and have the height set to auto.

I also fixed the links for reputation and friends so they actually go to those pages instead of just your profile page.

Code:

        case 'reputation':
                $link = "{$vbulletin->options['bburl']}/usercp.php?#reprecv";
                $value = $vbulletin->userinfo['reputation'];
                break;

        case 'friend':
                $link = "{$vbulletin->options['bburl']}/profile.php?do=buddylist";
                $value = $vbulletin->userinfo['friendcount'];
                break;

I also removed the lines between the groups as they don't look nice with dark styles, other then that the actual mod is very nice.

That is fair feedback and still makes the point you are not happy with the advertising, as well as alerting others to expect this. :up:

That isn't fair feedback;

1. Nobody is hijacking anyones admincp. You install the plugin it shows a message you click decline and you never see it again until you upgrade/reinstall the mod or click the link at the bottom of the plugin settings screen. There is no copyright link, no spam.

He's not alerting anyone of anything, or helping anyone make an informed decision. He's lying, doing it deliberately, and trying to inflict damage on the image of the mod. Everything he's making up now is in reaction to being caught breaking the rules.

2. This person goes from flaming and calling this mod (and our other ones) an expletive (before your edit) to "That's fair enough, if it was just a copyright", "the actual mod is very nice". It's a complete 180 -- keep this in mind.

As an author, you at least can relate to what a load of crap that copyright comment is. If there was one, he'd be raging more. I stopped putting copyrights in because that's what everyone asked for, but nothing is enough for people like him.

You are totally right in saying he doesn't have to use the mod. Honestly, he shouldn't even be allowed to continue posting in this thread. Imagine someone coming into one of your various mod topics and doing exactly the same thing.

3. What's ironic here is that I long ago implemented the two resizing options in the AdminCP to fix the avatar problem he was talking about, and I did it faster because of his (entitlement-minded) request. It's like being spit on.

After the fix, I never heard anything from him until yesterday when he wrote the nasty post you just took down after I released an update adding a bug fix and a new feature, both of those unrelated to the post-install message.

Neither of us wants someone like that using our mods, but that's the smaller issue. The real issue is that people like him can come into a mod topic, suck it dry and the attitude is that "it's ok".

BirdOPrey5 11-27-2013 11:49 PM

I apologize, I have not installed the mod and really don't know what it does to the AdminCP. If it doesn't do what he claims hopefully those who have used it will also speak up and let the truth be known.

Not saying you're not providing the truth, but obviously it would mean more coming from a 3rd party than the mod author.

Max Taxable 11-28-2013 01:06 AM

It does exactly what the author says it does and nothing more. I know because I installed it but for reasons unrelated to the Mod itself, had to take it down.

DemOnstar 11-28-2013 12:32 PM

I have installed this mod and all seems well...

4.2.1

madness85 11-29-2013 07:54 PM
