The managing currencies is what I am having issue with so far.

I'd need FTP and AdminCP access in order to look into that further.

Does this mod only use the integrated ad system? can we also make custom ads/custom placement? if not, can it be integrated with RBS?

migratoria 01-27-2014 08:52 AM

It's possible show short code in the areas of banners?
To integrate the banner, for example in the pages of wordpress, Jomla, etc..

brandon515 01-29-2014 12:31 AM

Will this mod work on Vb 3.8?

It only uses the integrated ad system, but any custom placements you add to advertising XML files will also work in this mod.

This mod will only function on vB-powered pages, sorry :(

No, the Advertising system that this mod is built on does not exist on vB 3.8. Sorry :(

I was uploading files for a different mod, from you, but I couldn't get it to work...I went to uninstall that mod and delete those associated files. In the process, I accidently deleted files for this mod. I reuploaded all the files since I wasnt sure which got deleted, but now I get this error and dont know how to fix it.

ozzy47 02-07-2014 10:55 AM

You are still missing one of the files, please drag and drop the contents of the upload folder (use Ctrl+A to select all files) to your public_html folder. :)

I have done that a few times with no success.

I have downloaded the updated files and uploaded them 10 different times now, and still same error message.

GeorgeB85 02-13-2014 07:29 PM

Has anyone experience this error?

Warning: require(..../dbtech/forumads/hooks/init_startup.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in ..../includes/init.php(351) : eval()'d code on line 22

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home1/georgelb/public_html/kgbeale.com/dbtech/forumads/hooks/init_startup.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home1/georgelb/public_html/kgbeale.com/includes/init.php(351) : eval()'d code on line 22

I have done tried 20 times of downloading and reuploading the files, and it will NOT remove this error.

Getting a database error on import

Quote:

MySQL Error : Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

Page hangs on installing, options in general settings is there but nothing in the admin panel for them, presuming the database error is the problem ?

this error arrives whenever the mod is enabled

Quote:

"Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: Display_Visitors in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4316"

Contact your host and ask them to increase the mentioned setting to 128M.

That is unrelated to this mod, you have an outdated modification installed that was written for vB3. Please disable all other mods and re-enable them one-by-one until you find the culprit.

bp323 03-17-2014 12:45 AM

thanks fillip.

I figured out which mod it was & got it sorted. now i just have to test out the rotating banner portion of this.

Snookieboy 04-12-2014 12:34 PM

Can anyone who's installed this mod share there experience with it? Did they generate sales etc?

Currently use Adsense and intend to keep using it long term, however would like the option for people to buy directly (either to go above the 3 ad limit of Adsense, or just to maximize income).
I get enough emails to our webmaster address and on our facebook page asking to buy ad space so this plugin could take care of that need without having to put lots of time behind it :)

Check error logs or talk to your host as it might not be this mod causing your problem

markoroots 07-11-2014 09:31 AM

So if there aren't problems for this i have to say that it's a really great mod.
You are great. ;)
But i have some questions.

How can i delete some example advertisement tables from "Banner Space Locator"
for example, if i want remove the "Archive page" from advertising, is it possible??

And also is it possible to add some additional place for banners?
for example "after the first post" or after the "4? post" in a thread?

Thanks in advance.

This mod is not the cause of that problem, as this mod does not open any new MySQL queries.

You can simply not add banner spaces for the ad locations you do not wish to serve ads from, and advertises will not be able to buy advertisements there :)

What's the point then Fillip? CMS is just so overlooked by forum developers...4.2.3(?) is a publishing suite and all you guys need to get your heads around that...how do I compete with Wordpress sites where developers actually finish their mods...I am very cranky atm.

But then again, if it works seamlessly with the Rotating bannerheads system it could be very handy to just isolate Forum ads...forums are my LEAST interest.

The point is that we made a decision to prioritise the integrity of a forum's Meta Keyword and Meta Descriptions, as these are relevant for SEO.

I would like to remind you that your anger over this unfortunate change does not give you the right to insult ourselves or the IB developers, as we are still human beings. You would not appreciate it if I insulted you over a response like this, as much as it angers me to hear this tone taken, so please do not subject others to what you would not appreciate to receive in return.

I regret that this has upset you, and should I find an alternative solution in the future then I will of course re-activate the CMS integration.

Does this work with paypal subscriptions? Does it renew the ad automatically every 30 days if so?

Unfortunately it doesn't work with PayPal subscriptions at this time. Advertisements must be manually renewed via the Client Area.

Damn I need something like this however I run everything on subscriptions as most of the companies I deal with are large and do not want to stop and participate and pay each month. Any plans to add it?

Check the "View PHP Info" page in your AdminCP to find the "Loaded Configuration Path (.ini)" reference.
