ok thanks
What about posts in FB from users, which are not connected with facebook? Is it possible to catch their posts as postet by guest?

Greeksgal 10-28-2013 09:15 PM

I've installed this, but not seeing what I've posted in my FB group appear on my forum or vice versa.

Having some trouble syncing this both ways...Facebook connect is up and running...not sure where the problem is with syncing...

One thing is that in finding my group id~ I enter my group url as suggested in the manual
https://www.facebook.com/groups/CREATIVEBEADCHAT/
it's bringing me
Creative Bead Chat Page ~ Which is my business page not my group. id : 230303260400476
Checking with wallflux my group id should be : 323057074410586
Not sure if wallflux creates a different than actual, but don't think so. Just not for sure about which is the actual "group" feed.

Attached a screenshot of my forum mgt page: & settings, in case something isn't right there.

Anyways, any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks ~ M

Vb 4.2.1

Afrika 10-30-2013 02:47 AM

Have you the right app datas in the developer.fb?

Spangle 11-21-2013 08:33 AM

Installed but doesn't appear to be working at all, I am running 4.2.2

Followed the manual instructions but may have over egged it a little by asking it to sync with ALL categories and ALL on topic forums, is this the problem ?

Skyrider 11-30-2013 10:28 PM

It doesn't even explain what the difference is between lite / full, and why does manual.url link to URL=http://vbsocial.com/wp-admin ?

Rebecca217 12-01-2013 04:22 AM

I have the same questions asked by a couple other members on the thread. I'm very interested in buying the pro version, but need the answers to these questions first. Could you please tell me:

1) Is this working correctly on 4.2.2?

2) If the group is open, how are Facebook users (who are not forum members) handled? And vice versa, for forum members who aren't using Facebook connect?

3) What are the differences between the pro and lite versions?

I appreciate any info you can provide. :)

BAJR 12-01-2013 04:10 PM

Me too... am poised for the full version... though currently it seems I am only synching in one direction - FB to Vbulletin ( go figure?)

Like it... like it lots. and see that the pro gives me a whole other range of potential. from smarter titles from Facebook posts. Instead of generic titles, these new titles will capture the title using the content of the Facebook post and post it to the vBulletin category.

Like the others though I am still confused about this:
Can users who do not use Facebook Connect, but are allowed to go in my VIP, can they still go in? --- Yes, we have built a setting to allow that. Select yes in settings.

can't wait for teh answer and then I am in

BAJR 12-02-2013 09:08 AM

I think the reason we are asking is that currently I have a conversation on Facebook where half the replies are not transferring to Vbulletin - so on Vbulletin there are some very odd replies to posts that are not visible. ... which looks like I am talking to an invisible friend that nobody else can hear. :)

in teh pro version, it is essential that Forum people who are not on facebook.. appear on the group discussion thread. and visa versa... people who are not members of the Vbulletin forum appear on the thread discussion. would creating a new " Forum Member " account with facebook, allow this "person" to post on facebook. in the same way as a guest post appears on Vbulletin ?

Afrika 12-04-2013 10:01 AM

exactly ;) That is the needed function

The problem with this is who's account will post to Facebook. This can cause issues if you have a member posting something bad, it gets sent to Facebook, then facebook "suspends/bans" your account, as that account will be responsible for content.

Afrika 12-04-2013 10:17 PM

maybe it is good, that the comments in FB posted to the forum as user as unregFB in the forum. than the discussion is completed in the forum

Could you rephrase that, please? I couldn't parse it.

BAJR 12-05-2013 09:36 AM

I see that a forum comment passed to facebook... could result in the account they are being posted as ( it would be the only way to work as a guest) being banned... if they breach facebook rules. which may have been acceptable on your forum asking people not to swear for example... may not work on the forum.. but would matter to facebook.

So the non forum member on facebook... their posts should come onto the forum - though I can't see how yet --- do they posts as guest? In which case what settings are required.

Cannot get this to work daveaite.
(vbulletin 4.2.2)
I can connect to facebook fine with my profile but as soon as I try to look into a forum setup to sync with the group id I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method vB_Facebook::group_perm_check() in /x/x/forumdisplay.php(111) : eval()'d code on line 15

(the x's are me blotting out the path)

As soon as I disable the plugin the forum works fine again.

tarun_ce 02-13-2014 04:23 AM

Okay I've got it syncing, kind of. The Lite version double posts a lot and doesn't seem to post on the fbook group. Is this a limitation of the lite version? You don't list anywhere what the differences are between the lite and the pro. I'd get the pro if I knew it was going to work.

keyla31 02-25-2014 03:55 AM

wont work for me uninstalled

Markos 03-22-2014 12:17 AM

we are testing this out but sometimes it will post and some times it wont even some posts that was posted has disappeared and if i create a thread on the forum it doesn't post it up on the facebook group

DreadsUK 03-22-2014 03:07 AM

watching this, hope you guys get it running smooth. looking forward to having it installed in our community :)

mytreehouse 04-01-2014 01:21 AM

Works only one way, from fb to the forum, as long as I'm facebook connected. It makes forum threads everytime I post in the group, status or comments. Doesn't work when the fb status has a picture or video added, only plain text works. No one in the group could get their group status show up in the forum.

If it only does one thing why should I install this.

daveaite 07-05-2014 09:21 PM

Facebook API changed, thus breaking the plugin. I have a dev working on this, and we're looking to adapt to their latest code changes. Thanks for the wait.

iraqiboy90 07-07-2014 01:59 AM

mod tagged, this sounds interesting

cdoyle 07-10-2014 08:28 PM

also tagged. Would like to see this working.

hpidriver 07-23-2014 06:38 PM

Tagged and waiting as well.

obglobal.net 07-24-2014 12:02 PM

Tagged. This could be sensational.

hpidriver 07-25-2014 12:20 AM

My worry with any Facebook plugins are the inevitable changes Facebook makes that render said plugins useless for an unknown period of time.

ozzy47 07-25-2014 12:27 AM

That's cause facebook stinks. :(

cdoyle 08-07-2014 08:23 PM

any updates on this one?

I can see on the horizon where the large social networking companies will charge for increased data from their API's. There is no downside for them, large companies will pay and they will get rid of all the bandwidth leechers, which are hard to monetize.

I can see it happening too. Akin to Netflix's deal with Comcast and Verizon.

The real problem now is the API rate limit that FaceBook imposed months ago. The modification could add caching, which will help, but if the user has exceeded their rate limit (via another modification) then synching will stop until the rate limit criteria is met. I can see this as a real pain to support, with users complaining that it does not work.

I am afraid many FaceBook mods might have to be home-brewed until this situation is ironed out.

Hopefully, I am wrong. :)

Morrus 09-03-2014 06:49 PM

Does this mod work yet? It didn't last time I tried it.
