I just got my key and turned this mod on.. Within 10 minutes it blocked 5 spammers from China.

This mod along with SpammersSuck1.0 knocks out a TON of spam.

2 Questions:
1. Would it work with 4.1.11?
2. Would it block spammer IPs on the PHP level? meaning not letting them to enter my website at all, not just registration (like blocking IPs through htaccess)

1. Yes, it should work fine.
2. No, it wasn't designed to do that. It would be more efficient to block IP's at your firewall, ie. iptables, pf. or in your htaccess file.

please be aware that it takes someones months before the developer will PM you the key, i waited 4 months

and btw i know your not the developer, you should really put details on who to contact to get the antispam key

First of all, I'm sorry it took so long to receive your key, I'm really not sure why it took that long. Second, I am the developer and for you to jump into a thread and accuse me of not being the developer is rude and not called for, so you might want to get all your facts straight before accusing someone of something thats not true.

If someone needs to contact me they can write me at my email address kevin @ fassim.com. I stand by our product and support it 100% and there are a lot of people that would back me up on that.

We've had our plugin on vb org for a while under the old vb3.8 plugin (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=254793), I just hadn't uploaded it for the new vb4. I got chemical lung burn and got really sick, could do anything for a long time. That slowed down the development of Fassim, but now that I'm heathy, development is our main priority.

As for the beta on the logo, it needs to be removed. We haven't been in beta for a while now.

In the meantime, just an hour after installing and removing my own blocklist, I see quite a few registration attempts not getting through. So far so good...

Easy installation, received my key soon after.

I run this mod in conjunction with SpammersSuck1.0. SS helped me out a lot, but I was still getting 20 or 30, or sometimes more spam registrations each day. Some days worse than others. Since installing this mod I have had only ONE [1] spammer get thru and that was about an hour after install. I just manually added his IP to the ban list. Since that point I have had zero spammers and for that reason I love this mod.

I would like to request an addon option if I may. Maybe in one of your future releases you can add an option to ignore Usergroup ID's when scanning for spam posts?

What do you have your 'What Do to With Post' options set on?

What to do with posts on Moderate Thread / Post.

I've come across an issue since installing this. This addon has blocked quite a few legit registrations based on emails but is also still allowing numerous spammers to get through. I have multi-checked the settings and looked at the stats page and it does show a ton of attempts being blocked overall.

Is this issue occurring for anyone else?

I'll take a look and see what's going on with this.

The stats page doesn't show who is block, just gives a overview of what's happened in the last 24 hours. It will show how many times a email, IP has tried to register. Also showing where the users are coming from.

I've only heard of 4 or 5 forums complaining about blocking legit users and that's out of 1,000's of forums that are using it. Most of them are because they are using disposable email addresses or they are using a proxy trying to register.

If you are having issue of people registering, please send me the information emails and ip's and I will look to why they were blocked, if they are in our database there must be a reason.

I've blocked Russia and China and a few are still getting through, but by and large, it works nicely.

Is there a paid version of this mod?

We now know why some are getting through and we are working on that issue.

I tried it on 3.7.2 and up and could not get an error, everything worked fine for me. Do you have any other plugins that might be conflicting?

If a few spammers are getting through, its because our server is at its load and we are in the process of upgrading to new servers. This will help us out a lot!

Only 1 came through here out of 446 tries in the last 2 weeks.
I use both Fassim and GlowHost Spam-O-Matic.

I have a question for koneil before installing this mod, and I'm a little surprised this has been asked in the year+ this mod has been available:

There have no privacy policy on your site. I have no assurances concerning what is done with the IP and email data of legit user registrations which are passed to your API. Can you clarify this both here and on your site?

Data is stored to determine whether or not the user is a spammer using our algorithms. After a certain number of days the data is purged. We do NOT use the data ("IP's, Email addresses") for any other use but to determine where the user is located and if the user is a spammer. If a IP or Email address has high amount of traffic, classifying it as a "spammer", we will display this information publicly or share it to others.

I will update our website with a privacy policy.
