I had it uninstalled but is there something I need to remove manually from the core or from the includes folders?

I am at a loss here.

Please check the "technicalemail" email address as defined in the core config.php file for any database errors.

Do you have a very large node table?

What version of vB5 are you running?

Fillip

I think you coulc call it a "large node table". With 58 channels and sub channels, 1500+ topics and 3100+ posts, I am not sure it is large but it is growing.

I am running 5.0.2 pl1

Thanks for your help Fillip

It's 5.0.2

RavRob 06-20-2013 11:45 PM

Any new developments on this Fillip?

RavRob 07-05-2013 09:07 AM

Re-installed and seems to work pretty good now. Just once in a while we get this error
http://screencast.com/t/lhT8Sni41jZd

Thanks

RavRob 07-06-2013 10:39 AM

Another thing I just found out is the thanks given do not add to the thanks received of a user all the time. It adds to some user but not to others. Mine is one of the ones where a user has purposely given me a bunch of Thanks but they never accumulated under my profile.

Anyway to make it do it update manually?

DragonByte Tech 07-06-2013 05:50 PM

Your MySQL server is broken. Please contact your host and tell them you intermittently receive a DB error saying "Error 1213: Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting the transaction".

The error message you're seeing is 100% irrelevant to APTL as it doesn't even mention Thanks at all (in the actual error message, disregarding the stack trace) - it just so happened that the cache was due to be purged when APTL ran :(

This might be a stupid question, but where are the installation instructions for 5.x? I purchased the pro and there are no instructions in readme or docs. Running 5.05

DragonByte Tech 10-01-2013 03:09 PM

There's a readme.txt file included in the script, did you try following those instructions?

Here's a recap of the important parts of that file:
Code:

/*======================================================================*\
|| 3. First Time Installation / Upgrade                                ||
\*======================================================================*/

1. Upload all files from the "upload" folder to your forums directory.

2. CHMOD the following folders to 0777
        /core/packages/dbtechthanks/vbactivity_type

3. In AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product
in the "OR import the XML file from your server" put

./packages/dbtechthanks/xml/product_dbtechthanks.xml

4. Configure your Usergroup settings by clicking "Manage Buttons" under
"DBTech - Post Thanks" in your AdminCP navigation menu, then
editing each button and setting your usergroup permissions from there.

Fillip

pcg 10-01-2013 04:00 PM

I am not seeing the path ./packages/dbtechthanks/xml/product_dbtechthanks.xml

I uploaded all as indicated in step #1
On step 2, I am looking in core/packages
In the XML folder (outside of upload) I see vB3 and vB4 folder. That's it.

I do not see dbtechthanks in packages. Is is possibly I have the wrong version? I downloaded the pro from your website and have v3.17. I can PM you for FTP info if you want.

DragonByte Tech 10-01-2013 04:08 PM

We should continue this @ dragonbyte-tech.com - I merely cross-posted here because you did as well. Our site is the preferred support location :)

Thank you for this mod love it!

Nomy 10-17-2013 12:10 PM

Hi,

Is it possible to test this? And is it possible to display like in the screenshot for vb4.2 ?
I didn't like how this plugin looks on 4.2. It looks better for vb5...

DragonByte Tech 10-17-2013 12:59 PM

The version you can download from here is free to test :)

Porting that look onto vB4 would be a significant undertaking, since the display style I use is provided by vB5 by default for its own "Like" action.

How?

DragonByte Tech 12-15-2013 01:58 AM

Upon checking, I can't find a setting to turn it off either. Maybe there's usergroup permissions for it?

ozzy47 01-08-2014 02:43 AM

You can read about it here, http://php.about.com/od/phpbasics/ht/chmod.htm

krisamrvin88 01-31-2014 03:52 PM

This modification is for vB5, click on the developer's profile and you should find a vB4 version.

nogi 04-04-2014 10:27 PM

How can I do a clean uninstall of this? The install of the Lite version hung and is causing "There is a serious error and the page cannot be rendered" error with the site. I disabled hooks and loaded admin console to uninstall the mod and that hung as well but removed traces if it from the admin console. Site is still reporting error, is there a SQL query that would remove it cleanly from the database?

The install hangs on:
Code:

Updating Version Number To: 1.0.0

Altered Table: administrator
Altered Table: user
Altered Table: usergroup
Created Table: dbtech_thanks_entry
Updating Version Number To: 1.1.0 <- Hangs here

DragonByte Tech 04-10-2014 07:11 PM

Disable plugins via config.php (I'm not sure of the specific method in vB5) and disable the product from the AdminCP, then uninstall it from there.

nogi 04-10-2014 07:46 PM

When are we going to see vb5.1.x compatible version?

Show some love to VB5! Update your mods. You have several great ones.

diop 05-05-2014 06:15 PM

I'm sort of a new forum owner and this is the first mod I've ever tried installing but I don't think I was able to get it to work properly. Could anyone help me out? I downloaded the zip and thought I did everything right in extracting the files and uploading them to the places places on the public_html folder but if there's anything I'm supposed to do after that then I'm not sure.

DragonByte Tech 05-07-2014 12:37 PM

The readme.txt file has the complete installation instructions :)

Fillip

diop 05-08-2014 07:28 PM

Nice, got it installed. I don't actually see a "thank" or "dislike" option on posts though. The readme file also cut off during part 3, so I'm not sure if it explains it in part 4, but is there a way to edit what is displayed on the side of posts? I want to remove thanks and dislikes given, and remove the brackets for (received),

oxrageous 07-17-2014 05:32 PM

I get a PM every time I get a like or dislike, despite disabling notifications. Any thoughts? I do not want a notification.

This notification cannot be disabled at this time. When vB5 allows us to create custom notification types, this behaviour will change.
