hi,

I had this installed on Beta 14 and it worked well.

VB was giving errors when upgrading to Beta 16 so I deleted the entire forum and started afresh with Beta 16.

I've just gone to install vBShout v6 back in (now on VB5 Beta 16), and it installs & displays fine but when I type something and either hit Enter key or Shout button, it gives a popup saying "invalid_query_definition_x,dbtech_vbshout_sho ut" and won't post the message

thank you

DragonByte Tech 11-06-2012 01:32 PM

I've uploaded a new build of Alpha 3, let me know if this works better for you guys :)

I installed the new version and it works, but I get this in the shout on each shout....

Thank you, works well now.

I get "[<!-- ##phrase_today_0## -->" before each post as well, but pretty sure I got that when I first installed it

Robp57 11-08-2012 12:20 PM

Still no response? The last 2 posts are about the same issue...Can we get some help please?

DragonByte Tech 11-08-2012 12:52 PM

Complaining about the speed of support on a free mod that's flagged as a Beta version for a Beta version of vBulletin is generally considered to be quite rude. Could you please refrain from doing so?
Myself and any other mod authors would greatly appreciate it, thanks :)

I keep getting the following errors when trying to view any of the settings from under the side menu tab in the admin cp.

Fatal error: Class 'vB_Api' not found in /var/www/vhosts/****/public_html/betaforum/core/admincp/vbshout.php on line 26

DragonByte Tech 11-13-2012 02:39 PM

That's not something I can assist with, as that should never happen. There might be an issue with your server. Are you sure you have the .htaccess files working on your server?

DragonByte Tech 11-13-2012 04:14 PM

It will be fixed in a future version.

Madd15 12-20-2012 08:48 AM

Is there a version which will work with Beta 21?

Thanks for an awesome mod

DragonByte Tech 12-20-2012 12:59 PM

Internally yeah, it's something we'll be releasing as time goes on :)

Gotta say not a huge fan of your mods, but the features on this looks promising.

Zacca87 03-02-2013 06:05 PM

Please update that release to vB 5.00 final :)

DragonByte Tech 03-02-2013 06:20 PM

Does it not work in the Gold release?

Fillip

Zacca87 03-03-2013 10:47 AM

My vB crash when i try to install in gold release, i had to manually remove plugin.

cspears22 03-03-2013 04:07 PM

I installed this today and I had no errors or anything installing it. But for some reason, it won't show up when I add it into my forum. I have added it in every available area and saved the page and it doesn't show up.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the great mod. I can't wait to see what it does for my site when I get it fixed.

Did you open the widget config for the dropped SB and hit Save to confirm the instance you're using?

Did you set up the permissions for the instance in the AdminCP?

I set up the permissions for the instance. But I may not be opening the widget config correctly for the dropped SB. Can you explain a bit more on that one?

DragonByte Tech 03-03-2013 04:41 PM

When you drop a module in a location, there's a pencil icon on the newly created bar that's used for opening the module config interface :)

Fillip

cspears22 03-03-2013 04:45 PM

Okay. Yeah, I already tried that and it says "No Configurations Found". So there is nothing to edit. Does this mean something isn't installed correctly or a setting isn't right?

DragonByte Tech 03-03-2013 04:53 PM

I've re-uploaded the product - it's possible the vBulletin.org release was out of date. Can you re-download, re-upload and re-import the product and let me know if it works for you now?

Fillip

cspears22 03-03-2013 05:05 PM

It is now allowing me to edit it as you said it should, but when I click "Shout", it isn't posting anything.

Edit: It isn't letting me delete the default shout or anything else either.

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function isAdministrator() on a non-object in core/vb/api/state.php on line 176

wildstang83 03-04-2013 02:07 AM

Yea I am having an issue getting it to "shout" or delete the default message too. I have the latest "lite" version installed on a fresh install of 5.0.0.

That's not an issue in this mod, our mod doesn't interfere with those files.

@ The issues with shouting: Confirmed, will post back when there's a fix available :)

Fillip

Zacca87 03-04-2013 03:05 PM

Happen only when i install your mod o.O

DragonByte Tech 03-04-2013 03:19 PM

You can now re-download the mod and re-upload /core/packages/dbtechvbshout/js/core.js and the issue with shouting will be fixed :)

It's a bug that happen only with vB5 in offline mode, if i use vB5 in online mode the plugin goes ok.
Infact the function who give an error is the follow:
Code:

        protected function checkForumClosed()
        {
                if (!defined('BYPASS_FORUM_DISABLED')
                                AND
                        !vB::getDatastore()->getOption('bbactive')
                                AND
                        !vB::getUserContext()->isAdministrator()
                                AND
                        !$this->location['login'] // Login
                )
                {
                        return array('option' => 'bbclosedreason');
                }
                return false;
        }

DragonByte Tech 03-04-2013 04:00 PM

That's a vBulletin bug then and you should report it via their Jira :)

Fillip

Zacca87 03-04-2013 05:03 PM

Another question:
How can i translate the plugin? Because in Language manager i don't see the phrase type DBTech vBShout o.O

DragonByte Tech 03-04-2013 05:11 PM

Custom phrase types cannot be used in vB5 - the phrases have mostly moved to the Hooks System phrase type.

Search for phrases starting with dbtech_vbshout_ to see all translatable phrases.

You must be using a very old version of either vBShout or vBulletin 5. Please update to the latest version of both :)

I'm getting the same error as well. <!-- ##phrase_x_minutes_ago_0## --> with each shout.

Using the latest versions of both the forum and the mod to the best of my knowledge.
Got the forum last Saturday, downloaded the shoutbox on Wednesday I think it was. v6.1.0a3 [Lite] according to the zip file.

Website is using PHP version 5.4.10 if that makes any difference

I get it too. Dealing with it for now - I don't see a way to disable it
