You won't be seeing an ETA ... I'm guessing we will see a stable and full vBulletin next year.

I'm also guessing that they will make some major changes once they see that the community is not fully behind them. (I'm hoping for it but not counting on it.)

About the only thing I've liked so far is the comments to the comments inside the original comments thread.

Being able to reply to an individual comment, rather than an entire thread is something new, and makes sense. Hopefully the feature is polished and made to work good.

I liked it too but i wasn't able to post a comment since it gives me a captcha error, but there wasn't any captcha lol

Yes .. I also got that. You have to be logged in to post a comment ... but I am having to log into each an every page ... I log into one page and can post fine...then I go to another and I find I'm not logged in. I go back to the previous page I'm logged in again. I have a notification for 5 messages but I am logged out when I try to check them .. odd.

Scanu 09-14-2012 07:03 PM

Good for you, i can't even login in a page

interface too much buggy , still unstable , multiple js issues , loading time sucks .

I wanna question : if the product is not yet ready , why cannot they wait for a few more months and then had release the demo . , Has vb4 have not tarnished the reputation of vbulletin enough ???? so why tarnish it even more with a incomplete vb5 release to the public .... sick of vb now.

I think they wanted to release vb5 with iphone5! may be that didn't work well?

I detest that, :)

I think that had no bearing at all.

agreed. That makes thing more complicated.

I still don't understand why the hell we need inline comment when we get quote function already or if that so important for you to inform the person someone answered to "his post" make it noticable via notification or @ like fb.

and with that, you are forcing to read the old page with your post just to read the comment instead the latest one

I think it should be, like most views of any forum, user selectable, some folk love it because thats the way they work in social networking, others, like our very own DP addict (EDIT: have to clarify DP = Dr Pepper, didn't want to give Paul a reputation he hasn't earned ;)), hate it, so to give a better more flexible platform make more view options available in the usercp.

Really, I think its fantastic :D One of the stronger points of the software at this early stage until we can see what else is planned for it.

Maybe it's just cause I'm lazy, and I hate asking a question in a fast moving thread and then have to find the answer 5 pages down the road when a reply is actually posted to it :D

Princeton 09-17-2012 01:34 PM

Hmm, now that I have spent more time testing the commenting system - I don't think I will be using it.

vijayninel 09-17-2012 04:38 PM

Why are all forum software's trying to look and act like facebook. Forums and Facebook are quite different. Maybe this is the forums revenge upon Facebook. Zuckerberg will faint if he sees vB5.

Anyway I also wont use the comment system though it may be useful in some categories. I hope there is a option to turn it off in selected forums.

vijayninel 09-26-2012 05:26 AM

vBulletin 5 Connect Beta 11 has been released today. There have been some bug fixes but no new features - especially those missing from vB4.
