I'm curious why in the Forum Manager it does not show all forums?

Also I have installed the most recent update 1.0.3. My board is version 4.1.6. and absolutely nothing shows up in the threads per this mod, nor do the threads themselves update.

Any Idea where to look?

DragonByte Tech 10-04-2011 06:21 PM

As per the feature list, in the Lite version you can only enable / disable automatic updates per Category, not per Forum :)

Give me your site URL and I'll see if I can detect any problems.

Thanks For The Update so far looks like it did fix those bugs!:)

Ok that explains it. The category it what is shown. So if you select to leave`enabled, or disable it, this will effect all forums and sub-forums with in that category, right?

I currently have this mod disabled on my site. Waiting on the webmaster to check the mod out to see if something obvious stands out on why it is not functioning.

That's correct :)

Installed, hoping this is much cleaner than the lancer for hire version.

sticky 10-05-2011 09:04 AM

Wow, works pretty well! Iquote even works with it and no double posting issues yet.

Nicely done! How much is the pro version and does it remove the annoying link crap this mod puts on the bottom of my forum?

sticky 10-05-2011 09:17 AM

What changes the information bar text color? On one style it is blue on another it is grey.

sticky 10-05-2011 09:29 AM

Damn, double posts showing up :(

sticky 10-05-2011 09:53 AM

The double posting seems to happen if people are posting quickly one after the other.

Other than that, this is pretty much flawless. The double posting is a big bug though.

sticky 10-05-2011 11:16 PM

Anyone from DBtech? Double posting bug...

DragonByte Tech 10-05-2011 11:21 PM

Uh... Please do not post 6 times in a row, could you please merge your posts?

I don't think you'd like it if I sent you an email every 10 minutes if you didn't instantly respond ;)

For the future, could you also please not bump your posts? We read every post (which is why we don't want to be spammed with notification emails) and we will respond when we can - there's no support time guaranteed.

Fillip

Laaser 10-05-2011 11:38 PM

I have also a "doublepost"-bug. I see my posts only one time, but the other members posts twice time.

DragonByte Tech 10-05-2011 11:41 PM

There is a known issue where if you Quick Reply after having AJAX Threads load new posts, those posts will be duplicated. That will be fixed for the Gold version later on.

There are no other known issues with double posting at this time.

Thank you, when can I expect this gold version and where do I buy it?

My fault, I was simply trying to help you and was posting while testing the product on my board.

Friday, and here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/vbeco...&productid=114

Posting multiple posts creates multiple email notifications so it's preferrable that you keep your consecutive posts in 1 post instead of 2 or more :)

YEAH!!!! This is Live Topic re-done :D

Alex@bulletin 10-07-2011 01:51 PM

Mh i go crazy.
Now i deinstalled version 1.0.2 completely and deleted the files from my server and did a new try with 1.0.3.
There seems to be the same issue:
I've reuploaded the files on my server, and i've installed the products .xml.
I can see everything concerning the mod but the ajax controlled refresh still doesn't work. Neither the manual one nor the automatic one. although i'm quite sure i've configured the mods settings properly. I've also contacted my webspace hoster and he told me the server is absolutely compatible with any ajax based features.
Does anyone have an idea what happens wrong on my site? :(

maybe i can contact you and you can have a look in my admincp^^

DragonByte Tech 10-07-2011 03:00 PM

Link me to your site and I'll see if I can immediately detect any problems :)

Fillip,

for some reason I have been unable to get this mod to work with the threads on my board. I have tested on all styles including default. Info shows up above and below in the thread as it should, but even selecting the "Reload" does nothing. I noticed that when hovering the cursor over the "Reload" text it shows "javascript://" in address bar. There is no other part of address attached to the javasript:// text. Not sure if that shows any issue or not but I thought I would point it out. If you want to see this for yourself I will leave the mod enabled for awhile, otherwise I will eventually disable the mod per the Product Manager. I have an account setup for you to login with.

Thanks!

DragonByte Tech 10-07-2011 06:32 PM

The links are correct, the issue is entirely unrelated and happens because you have quick replies disabled.

Fix will be in v1.0.4 that is coming tonight.

Ok however you really should include info like that in the Read Me notes. I was unistalling and reinstalling, and then finally gave up and search for this thread as a last resort.

So I went in admincp/settings/Message Posting and Editing Options/Quick Reply/ and selected "Yes, Click Required". After doing that I Test posted and sure enough the Ajax Mod now works on my current 4.1.6. version board. Thank you for the heads up. Now waiting for mod update. Thanks again!

DragonByte Tech 10-07-2011 09:21 PM

Unfortunately it's not possible for me to predict issues like this, and it's not feasible for me to update the readme file every time a new known issue is discovered - not to mention I only discovered the issue because of your forum :)

This link doesn't bring anything up except a notice that you are fixing support ticket issues.

Is the version of this mod with the double posting fixed available now?

DragonByte Tech 10-08-2011 12:01 AM

I don't believe I've posted in this thread or sent out an update notice, so odds are that's a no :)

Fillip

How can you predict issue on something you have placed in "Beta Stage"? And better yet, How does something in beta stage advance without documenting and logging it's progression?

I was in no way criticizing your work or how it was described. I simply expressed what would have been helpful for me and the next guy. Now I'm going to the Support Developer tab and send a paypal to show my appreciation for the hard work done so far on a cool mod.

v1.0.4
Fix:
Quick Replying after other posts have been loaded by AJAX Threads will no longer cause those posts to be duplicated
Fix: Forums with Quick Reply turned off should now see the mod function correctly
Fix: The setting to turn off the information bar will now work as intended

I just experienced this mod not allowing me to access the admincp. When selecting to enter admincp it would just sit there until it would time out. It would also not allow me to log out from my account either. When trying to log out by clicking submit it would sit and kick you back in like 5 sec to same screen not allowing it to go completely through the process. I had to disable all plugins from ftp just to regain access to the admincp.

I have not installed the 1.0.4. update yet.

Any idea?

DragonByte Tech 10-08-2011 02:54 AM

I'm pretty certain that's got nothing to do with this mod, as it does nothing on either of those pages.

Everything returns to normal with this mod disabled. Btw, did you receive my paypal donation?

DragonByte Tech 10-08-2011 03:11 AM

Yeah we did, thanks :)

Seems to work for me... but try clearing your vbAdmin cms cache and browser history.

8thos 10-08-2011 03:25 AM

Oh wow Lancer gave up his Live Topic thread. The same bugs in his seem to be present in this one from what I've read so far. At least your trying though, everyone likes Live Topic even if it does weird stuff. I would like to try this one out after I upgrade to 4.1.7

DragonByte Tech 10-08-2011 03:31 AM

All of the bugs you've read about in this thread have been fixed, as you've also read in this thread, so I'm not sure what you're referring to :)

Quick replying still produces duplicate posts.

DragonByte Tech 10-08-2011 01:29 PM

Please ensure you've cleared your browser cache, as DBTech has been running this build for a few days now and we have not encountered any duplication issues :)
